And to add (it's a bit of stretch but part of my head cannon) that cougars, jaguars (possibly some melanistic ones-black panthers) used to roam parts of SC, and maybe ventured into NC a time or two.

Will the Panthers or won't they contend for a playoff spot
OneBadCat replied to panthers55's topic in Carolina Panthers
We will contend and we will win the division. This team was playoff caliber last year when it was handcuffed by dumb dumb HC Rhule. Fringe starter Sam Darnold was looking like a badass when we finally started playing to our strengths under Wilks. If Bryce Young is remotely close as advertised then we will be whooping a lot of ass next season. This is the best line and most effective weaponry we’ve supplied a QB since 2013. Yall gotta start having some nuts . The Saints only win when the refs want to play storymode. The Buccaneers aren’t doing anything unless Mayfield goes dark knight rises on our ass. The Falcons are our biggest threat. -

It really just depends on Bryce. This was a playoff team last year if they canned Rhule a game or two sooner. -

ESPN lays off employees, with more cuts to come

About time these dudes get canned. They have the easiest job in the world. Anyone with mid communication skills could hop on these shows, talk a little poo, and then trigger a fan base with some idiot comment. -
Offensive support cast ranked 31st in the league
OneBadCat replied to panthers55's topic in Carolina Panthers
It really just depends on how Bryce does. We don't have superstars everywhere. But theoretically we have an offensive answer to damn near every situation we could encounter. We have a veteran WR who knows how to get open, we have speed in Chark/Byrd/Shi Smith. We have two guys with physicality, size, and 4.4 speed to win contested catches in TMJ and Mingo. Then we've got Sanders whos an all around great weapon. All we're missing is a bruising RB. I'm not expecting a ton out of Hurst. But him in combination with Tremble should be good enough to make those 3rd QTR grabs that move the chains. -

Boy are they in for a surprise. -
I think a lot of that will depend on Bryce. If he’s as good as advertised then it shouldn’t be a problem. We have the right type of WR to adjust for every situation pretty much .

Yes 100% I think life is probably quite common. And I think we will likely discover it on Saturns moon Enceladus, and or Europa. How intelligent? Not sure but I’m willing to bet there is at least microbial life at its volcanic vents. Not to mention Mars which was once Earth-like for billions of years. That’s potentially 3-4 bodies that harbored life in one solar system.

This is the "didn't do his research and just read the spark notes" type of article.

You should just quote me next time. I'd wear it proudly.

I think Cam with a full offseason is better than all of these guys. So he would be my wild card. Cam Newton Sam Darnold Taylor Heinicke Andy Dalton Baker Mayfield PJ Walker Teddy Bridgewater Kyle Allen

Wish they would make a rule that you can't win by field goal under two minutes.

Jesus Christ how much more are we going to handicap defenses? Literally no one will get pinned deep. This also hurts homefield advantage. Hope this doesn't apply to punts either.

Matt staying to compete and making himself and Bryce better only does good things for us.

We're gonna get DJ back in a few years when Bryce is in peak form.

The next GOAT of the franchise

I agree completely. I think our WR room is more stacked than people think. It’s also not necessarily about having studs everywhere. It’s about being able to call the play you want at any given time and knowing you can win the matchups. Which, dare I say is possible with these players.

I think it’s a little more encompassing than that. A lot of QBs have the mental make up to play the game but don’t have the other tangibles/intangibles. Not just physical traits, but peripheral vision, pocket awareness, touch, nerves, and anticipation. It all comes together. Delhomme is an interesting example. In his prime he’s a tier below the Manning/Brady/Ben/etc in his processing and command of the offense. But he made up for that with the arm he used to have. He could make throws that should have never been made. And he was clutch and gutsy. And when tommy john happened it exposed his liabilities and reliance on Smitty. Brady might have been a below average athlete by NFL standards. But he’s still 6’4 with a great arm that doesn’t require him to torque so much. It’s fair to be concerned about Bryce because he’s small you worry about him getting smashed. But the things that make him great would make any QB great and are occurring regardless of his size. So I’m aboard the train. I’m not worried about him being effective. My concern is him eventually taking the wrong hit, and his arm wearing down overtime.

Might be his way of making up for that

As long as he can throw 60 yards he’s fine.

Im gonna go with the Saints. I've always had some respect for the Buccaneers. The Saints have always been a trash team that only got anywhere because of bounty gate and the refs playing storymode post Katrina to give them a Cinderella story. Brees is also one of the most overrated QB's of all time. I hated the Falcons in the Vick era because he always owned us, but we seem go tit for tat with them.
