He’s a good player but we already made the right investments on the defensive line. We have the pass rushers we need now. I suspect we bring KK back for cheap or we seek a DT in the middle rounds of the draft. Best of luck to Obada though.

REPORT: Panthers remain interested in Deshaun Watson trade

I’m not convinced we’ll need to trade up. We’re sitting at the edge of one of those guys falling to us. We’ll need to trade up to guarantee one of them but we may get away with sitting tight .
-
Definitely not a good look. Hope it’s not true. Could also really put us in a bind by draft day. My guess is we avoid this entirely and draft Trey Lance.

Bummer

No doubt but Chinn is truly the first blue chip Safety we've had since Mike Minter. Historically this franchise isn't very good at finding those guys. I'd understand not wanting to let that go. Worst case scenario I hope we can retain Chinn, DJ Moore, and one of Burns and or CMC/Brown.

My ideal trade pieces would be Shaq, D. Jackson, and Anderson. Teddy as well.
-
Just hoping we can keep Burns and CMC

Report: The Panthers are "locked on Watson"
OneBadCat replied to MVPccaffrey's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah hell no. Would rather lose CMC than both BB and Brown. -
Seems to me the Patriots are trying mimic Cam's best results here by getting him a deep threat and two TE's. We only had Olsen and Shockey for one year but we threw all over the field that season. They are at least doing right by Cam's skillset.

Our odds of getting Curtis back just got better but I do believe him resigning makes Anderson trade bait. Curtis has reached his floor and his ceiling is at or above DJ if he is truly that special. I’d love to have him back if we can.

ohhhhhhh boy. sounds like watson is getting traded. per jim trotter

Even you know the answer is yes! -
Well the 03 team had more talent and depth. Cam carried the 15 squad on his back with Ted Ginn as his best WR. The only thing better about the 15 team was Cam, Olsen, Luke(Respect to D. Morgan), and Josh Norman. Cams out performed Jakes stats pretty much every year he’s been healthy. You say you don’t rank QBs on running ability. So Cam still beats him in passing. Also, it’s not really on Cam to not run the ball and play pocket QB just to prove an arbitrary point. I’ve never understood the notion that he had to play like someone else to show he was worthy. If Jake could run like Cam, his passing numbers would be worse than they are. What I will say though is that Rivera took the quickest route to success and overused the RPO to Cams detriment.

Not true at all. Cam became a clutch QB before his shoulder injuries. He made key plays. His arm beat Seattle, NE, Saints, Eagles in prime time. He did make overthrows but Jake wasn’t any better. His magic was his ability hit Smitty, and then he got complacent and exposed when he couldn’t rely on him. Once he had Tommy John he wasn’t reading the field as well as he used to and he couldn’t force the passes like wanted. Jake was great in 03/04 but he also had the element of surprise and just enough talent and moxy to get the team to win through fox ball. If Cam was on that 03 squad they’d be undefeated. Jakes best performance as a leader was in 04 when he legitimately maxed out his abilities to turn the team around. That Jake might have an argument over some Cam seasons, but Newton in his prime? No contest.

Not saying you're wrong. But he's decent enough to create another hole we have to fill should we cut him.
-
Can we please add a laugh react as a pie type feature?
-
Jake was legitimately a good to great QB for about 3 seasons. He was clutch. That is the one factor that Teddy lacks and what makes him a terrible option for us. Seven opportunities for game winning drives and he failed. I'll say though. Jake was a liability in 2007 and 2008. He had flaws the whole time, but tommy john wouldn't let him make those plays anymore.
