  1. Was talking about all the poo QBs we've faced and are going to face, but I like where your mind's at. Time for Bene to start chipping (no pun intended) away at J_No24's lead in pick-6
  2. First undisputeably good QB we face is Rodgers. Only thing Bradford's close to leading the league in is INTs. He's tied with Stafford for 2nd with 9 behind Peyton's 10. And there's nothing we can do about that and it's not our problem to fix. They need to scout talent better, draft better, make better trades, and sign better free agents to better contracts. That's their prerogative how hard to work at those things, and if they choose to go in the direction they have, it's not our prerogative to apologize for having more points on the scoreboard when the clock shows 0:00
  3. Haven't seen it but will now. For a mix of sci-fi and horror, I'm old enough to remember seeing Alien in '79. It was the second sci-fi movie I ever saw and the polar opposite of the first one I saw (Star Wars), so the chest-bursting scene and the ominous what was that and where is it in the ship now had me scared.
  4. That Darrelle Revis trade is more relevant to today than ancient history Gotta stop living in the past. It's not healthy for ya
  5. Latest track shows it off the coast of South Carolina at gametime Sunday afternoon. Y'all up there will get the rain from Joaquin not Tampa. There could be some rain coming in off the Gulf at gametime, but it won't be from the hurricane
  6. Class is in session now kids. Sit down, shut up, and learn from the master.
  7. Smack-talking them feels like kicking a puppy and I ain't from Atlanta, so it's not cool (looking at you Vick and Shembo)
  8. Considering we played a defense that saw Clowney's best game as a pro, ILB Cushing return to his pre-injury form, S Rahim Moore and OLB Mercilus also being graded in Houston's top 5, all time great NT and toilet clogger extraordinaire Vince Wilfork, and JJ Watt, the only defensive player in the league better than Luke (dammit!), I'm glad we were able to get 170+ yards rushing and a couple of 25+ yard touchdowns. The Stains defense isn't nearly that good, and I'm looking forward to a repeat of the 41-10 beatdown we gave them last year
  9. Older guys + high heat index + longest non-OT game = lowered scores Lessons learned : CJ missing the preseason cost him time getting into football shape since he cramped up at the end, no Star in the rotation equaled more snaps in the heat for the other D-Linemen, and TD is great outside but those couple snaps in the middle hurt his grade. Younger guys held up better to the heat index I heard on Panthers radio at one point was 118 on the sideline and Coleman is showing his experience playing in McDermott's system from when they were in Philadelphia
  10. Brandon Williams turn for some backup lovin' from the Huddle even tho he's only had 1 decent season (200f'n9 in a junior college) in his 2008-20012 college career and current 3 year NFL stint. The only back-up the Huddle currently loves more is the back-up offensive coordinator.
  11. Star traveled to Jacksonville and while the rest of the team was inside getting dressed for warm-ups, he was stretching, practicing his footwork, and using the goalpost by the Panther fans to practice his hand-fighting. No coaches or other players around. Just himself. I interpret that as him wanting to do everything he can to get healthy and taking every chance he can get to keep his skills from getting rusty. #selfmotivated
  12. Houston's D will be the toughest or 2nd toughest we face all year behind Seattle's. I expect Luke to pass the protocols and lead a turnover feast against a team that has 2 starting QBs, which in football math means they don't have 1, along with no Arian Foster and no Andre Johnson opposite DeAndre Hopkins. Texan fans will say WR Nate Washington had more yards (105) than Hopkins (98) so our secondary should watch out. Pffft. Josh, Bene, and Peanut ain't sweating that WR group. Calling a defensive slugfest won by Gano. Gonna be a lot of conservative play-calling from Shula and that's the smart move. Game will hinge on which offense screws up less and takes better advantage of turnovers both defenses will give them. We can at least threaten in both running and passing. Who does Houston have at RB now? Exactly my point
  13. This is a write-up on Kony's weaknesses before last years' draft: "Fires off the snap upright and is vulnerable to cut blocks. Much more effective pass rusher than run defender. Has been surrounded by a lot of talent at Missouri and may struggle early in the NFL if asked to be a savior." This tells me Kony was going to need a couple of years to develop into a full-time starter, so as long as the coaches are happy with his progress, I'm not complaining, especially since it looks like we'll have a very good rotation of Big $$, Big Frank, Mario, and Kony where all of them have the talent to deserve a share of the snaps.
  14. Gettleman came to camp in the best shape of his life After all, round is a shape
  15. how are we supposed to win games the division the division again a playoff game a championship with this bunch of choir boys? #wheredah8ersatnow
  16. Glad to hear about Colin Jones looking even better. His name's gotten lost in the Shaq & TD Sr., Harper vs.Coleman, and Benwikere vs.Tillman conversations.
  17. doesn't look like a full pads practice to me, which makes sense. First practice after 6 weeks off should be about getting them back into the flow of practice. (and making a good show for the fans and reporters there if you're the cynical type) if it's not a full pads practice, it doesn't count to me
  18. Read topic title saw it was written by Igo expected inside info about Jake Long signing here *sigh* maybe the site owner needs to pay that Igo guy a livable wage so the guys that come here for poop jokes and boob pics aren't misled with clickbait like this
  19. So a backup retires and costs us no dead money on the salary cap. He was a waiver wire claim, not a free agent signing. This only hurts if there is nobody in North America that can be one of our backup tackles. Backup. Gone. No cap hit. Meh
  20. ^^^^ this I think the Huddle has a knee-jerk reaction to the salary cap every year. They're having difficulty accepting the future we're heading into where penny-pinching won't be necessary and we'll be able to afford to keep our players. CJ and Kalil's salaries are set to drop by roughly $5 million and $2 million respectively next year, then CJ's expires and Kalil's becomes very cut-able the year after, precisely when KK becomes a free agent and our 5th year option on Star kicks in. Gettleman has this balanced out beautifully.
  21. All their draft picks will contribute simply because they had such a crappy roster last year. Their lines still suck and I'm not buying into Jake Matthews and Rashede Hageman becoming sophomore season All-Stars after being rookie season failures like most Falcon nuthuggers are.
  22. Tillman's a late bloomer. He was 22 years old when the Bears drafted him in the 2nd round in 2003, same year we drafted Gross. Tillman made his first Pro Bowl in 2011 at age 30, then his second Pro Bowl and in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year in 2012. Two straight years tearing the same tricep has made his a forgotten man, but our history with TD's torn ACLs gives me hope Tillman can comeback Skrong.
  23. All for letting him prove he's better than a Pro-Bowler at the position. I just think if we're getting excited about Funch's size advantage over the #2 CBs we'll face, we should wonder if Tillman's extra height will give him the starts against taller WRs. Honestly don't care who it is, just as long as they do the job.
  24. Had better stats outside than at nickel last year, so it makes sense. EXCEPT when the #2 WR we face is bigger and slower than a typical #2 WR. I'd prefer matching up Tillman on Vincent Jackson, Marques Colston, and Andre Johnson (Colts). The extra height Tillman has is better for defending these guys than faster, but shorter Bene. That gives Tillman the #2 CB spot for 5 games, and Bene will be the #2 CB the other 11 games.
  25. Are you sure you had enough credits to graduate? Sometimes your math is off by one J/K! Congrats on passing one of the milestones to adulthood
