We avoided it because our OL can’t hold up. Now Bryce’s touch has been off today, especially the one to Mingo.

What are you going to do when your OL can block for 2 seconds. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Bryce is awesome. I’m just saying it’s not all on him.

His receivers have dropped 2-3 passes as well. The OL is hot garbage and the kid is running for his life. I’m not saying he’s a franchise guy, but geez, this team does him no favors!

First off, calm down bud. Nowhere did I say that Purdy wasn’t a good QB or say Young was his complete equal. Best in the league may be stretching it, but he’s very good. My point was in physical tools and to show how the right system/coaching/weapons make a difference. Breathe…

I’m just not seeing those “open” receivers. I’m also not seeing a scheme that looks competent either. I say all of this not as a Young defender. I was of the opinion there wasn’t a true franchise guy in the draft. Stroud proved me wrong. I wouldn’t have moved up. But hindsight is 20/20.

I can definitely see that. I do think he’s more of a game manager. Now, is that worthy of the #1 pick? My opinion was no, but I haven’t seen him with competent coaching and scheme either.

This is an oversimplification of the issue. Our offense was completely stagnant and ancient. That’s on Frank. You can expect him to make chicken salad out of chicken poop. He’s not that type of QB. Should we have mortgaged the future for that? That’s a great question and worthy of discussion. However, over and over, they slow down our plays and zero in on our receivers. Consistently, there is ZERO separation. The biggest issue is that the makeup of this roster is horrible. Fitt should be the one looking for another job.

Some people need to chill. Scheme and coaching go a long way. Right now, our situation sucks, point blank. Bryce can be a decent player. Is he a world beater? Who knows. However, athletically and skill-wise there’s no way Purdy is more talented. However, the scheme and coaching are good. The real question is can this organization put him in a position to have success.

This was a very lazy take. Every QB has had a pass batted down.

It seems like folks on this board are harder on the draft class than pundits out there. Most have rated the draft in the A- to B range. I give this draft a solid B at this moment. I think we got the best QB in this class, a good receiver with potential, a great value OL in the later rounds, and a good safety with our last pick. With that said, I feel we have the best staff we’ve ever had and I’m going to trust their judgements until proven wrong.

I think I got it, the guy called one pick right and we should listen to him on all. My point is there are details that have to be looked at that contributed to Johnny’s downfall. Didn’t mean to trigger you.

Comparing Young to JM is like comparing apples to oranges. One had rocks for brains and you know which one I’m talking about.

The one thing that separates Young from Mayfield is his mind. The guy already thinks like an OC. Also, Mayfield was pretty darn good when given talent and supported by competent offensive staff.

Fowler always seems pissed when guys he’s been around are let go or leave. In all honesty, I’m shocked the guy lasted this long.

I understand some of the apprehension, however, are people discounting the plethora of experience we have on the offensive coaching staff? I am going to support whoever they feel they can work with.

I may be missing something, but the video says that Young’s Pro Day is going on as he speaks. I still think this is coming down to Stroud and Young. I’m honestly fine with either.

That’s fair, but Young would not be taking the hits CMC did as a running back. Young has always been good at navigating the pocket and getting out of harm’s way.
