  1. I think quality of depth is important to note in this kind of thing. I mean we have two bodies at center but Corbett is a complete unknown and if he were to get injured you wouldn't want Mays starting for a prolonged period.
  2. https://www.nfl.com/news/2024-nfl-draft-order-for-all-seven-rounds We get 141 they get 166. Edit - Actually that says we get 141 and still have 166. Is the pick swap next year?
  3. I think a C is a lock for one of the first two picks given how much of a need it is and how the draft will play out. You'll probably get one of the top 2 centers at 33. That then lets you have Christensen and Corbett as depth. If they get a top WR in FA then I think the other second rounder could be used on an edge rusher with a WR being taken in the third or 4th round.
  4. So they did swap 5th rounders. Panthers move up from 166(165) to 141(140) in the 5th round.
  5. Not a fan of this but not particularly worried just yet. I'm pretty sure they'll take one of the top centers in the draft at 33 or 39.
  6. It's been reported in places as 39, 2025 5th rounder and a 5th round pick swap.
  7. Have they said if they 5th round pick swap is swapping 141 for 140 or 165 for 140?
  8. Compensation is shitty but that's on Fitterer. The alternative was let him walk or give him $30m a year.
  9. Having their 39 and 47 to go with our 33 would make the draft a bit more interesting. Lots of talent available at those picks. I'd rather have that than a 1 in 2025.
  10. No idea about the source but I'm sceptical. I feel like you'd be hearing about it from other places if something like this was in the works.
  11. This would be dumb. You shouldn't experiment at center.
  12. He was projected to get $15m/$16m. Seems like a bit of an overpay but I guess that's where we are.
  13. Seems like a guy who knows his stuff.
  14. Could be opening up room in 2025 because most deals signed in FA this year will have smaller cap hits for 2024 and bigger in the following seasons.
  15. These cuts we've been making have opened up a nice chunk of cap for 2025 but not that much for 2024.
  16. I was thinking that but I guess if the Bengals have tagged Higgins as basically a one year rental and don't intend to extend him they'd maybe think having Burns on a 1 year rental would give them a better chance of winning.
  17. I think it would be a straight swap but not sure the Bengals would want him. They're paying Hendrickson a lot the next two seasons.
  18. The players they've released so far have negligible cap savings.
  19. Best chance we've got of getting comp picks in the near future is if Evero becomes a HC. Outside of those potential two 3rds for him we won't be getting any for players leaving.
  20. That's my issue. No other reporter has reported this and they probably wouldn't even if they were told it because they know it's disingenuous to suggest the market for Burns is around a 3rd rounder. Her reporting it makes it seem like there's an ulterior motive rather than her just doing her job.
