Never missed the postseason in his career (minus probably this year) and he’s had a TON to do with it. Forget legion of boom years. at some point y’all gotta understand that it isn’t luck when he keeps repeatedly making those big time clutch plays. It’s just who he is.

Also no he doesn’t have to “win a Super Bowl” I just want to see him take the next step. He’ll have his opportunities and I’ll be rooting for him.

If you haven’t seen RW will his team to the post season behind shitty oline play and suspect defenses then I don’t know what else to tell you. You do you.

Last year he had 40 tds and 13 picks over 4K yards. This year he was at 10 tds 1 pick until he injured his finger on a freak play. If that’s not elite (stat wise) I don’t know what is.

I said this fanbase sucks because people were actually saying RW wasn’t elite. It’s pretty obvious that some fans in here don’t watch other teams or players and are complete homers who don’t wanna analyze how teams are constructed. It makes for poor discussion. I’m making casual conversation on an opinion I have. This is a message board. That’s it’s purpose. All that other stuff you posted about my health is pure projection. I’m good. This is a fun team to watch and as a whole the defense is way further along then I thought they’d be during this rebuild. I have opinions on where I’d like to see the direction of this team go because, again, this is a message board and this is part of its purpose.

I didn’t respond to him because he insulted me for no reason other than me just giving my opinion. those 2 picks Sam threw were backbreaking. Put our struggling defense in tough spots. He struggles with processing at times. I said before I’m open minded about watching if Sam continues to grow this year and see where he’s at. But if he regressed or stays stagnant and can’t lift the team to wins like the Dallas game when other units are struggling I would look at other options. I want to win championships and I think this defense has a window. Has nothing to do with Sam personally.

You’re mixing up my words. I said if Sam doesn’t take the next step by the end of this year. We can’t do anything now anyway. But Sam is in that category right now imo

Naw look at history. Teams that compete for championships year in and year out have top qb talent. Dominant defenses get broken up when people get paid and when injuries inevitably happen. Name me a team that has had a dominant defense and an Alex smith/ jimmy g type qb that has stuck together for more than a handful of years. I honestly cannot think of one in recent memory. like look at the bucs last year. Absolutely dominant. They are struggling this year. But they have an elite qb. Seattle’s defense lasted 2 or 3 seasons. It’s just hard in the cap era keeping a defense together and drafting well enough to replace. Especially when you are picking high.

I disagree. Also anyone thinking we can change this oline to a top 10 talent unit in one year is mistaken. Not saying we don’t have to try to upgrade as best we can but whoever is qb is gonna have to work around whatever we got. Qbs also play a major role in how oline’s are ranked. people are stuck on Wilson when I’m just talking about a top shelf qb in general. Wilson is just an example of a qb I’m talking about that can elevate teams, even with this oline. So yes we have to upgrade the oline but with this defense our window is about to be wide open before second contracts hit and it becomes increasingly more difficult to win championships.

Also what does 7 slots up really mean? Like giving up a couple more sacks? Pressures? Ranking oline is hard and the eye test tells me we need a better center more than anything. I’m hopeful deonte and Brady can get meaningful snaps so we know what we have there was well.

Not really. I’m talking about after this year. Can still bring in a quality FA olineman. See what we have in deonte and Brady the rest of this season. It’s not that far fetched. QBs like RW elevate oline play for sure. Get the ball out quick, and have great mobility/elusiveness.

Seattle was ranked 19th the year they won it.

No I said if Darnold doesn’t show growth and take the next step by the end of this year I’d be willing to part with 1st rounders for an elite qb because this defense is about to be championship caliber with another draft and FA. Windows are small. Gotta make the most of them.

I think it’s fair to say a lot. This isn’t even about RW, he’s just an example. I’m talking caliber of qb. Darnold needs to show some growth and take his game to the next level for us to compete for Super Bowls imo.

His style of play? He rarely ever gets hit. He’s elusive as hell and can play backyard ball and is also a legit pocket passer. He makes INSANE throws every game and is clutch as hell. He’s a winner. I was against this trade before I saw the defense this year because I thought we weren’t there yet and needed another couple of drafts. Windows in the nfl are small. That legion of boom team had like 3 years and they were done. Our defense is almost there. And we have legit offensive weapons on this team. Oline is the only thing that needs an overhaul. I’m hoping Sam shows some growth over the year so we aren’t in this situation but I’m telling you if he doesn’t we’re gonna be in a 49ers jimmy or Alex smith KC situation.

I’m just gonna assume y’all don’t watch other teams or players. He was a young qb when legion of boom was there. A 3rd round pick. You look at what he’s become now. He’s a top 5 QB. This will be his first year without a winning record... Look at his stats since then...watch his games and how he plays. This year alone through 3.5 games 10 tds 1 pick. This fanbase sucks.

Definitely hope Sam takes the next step. He will be cheaper and less draft capital. A qb of RW caliber would turn this franchise into legitimate super bowl contenders instantly over the next couple of years. This is all hypothetical tho because I know he’s not coming here.

What trajectory is that? Sam has played solid. I don’t see his needle moving up yet. RW is an elite top 5 qb. We were willing to give a top ten pick for Matt Stafford. RW is on his level and possibly better depending on how you look at it.

I wanna win super bowls. If we could keep this team together for the next 2 or 3 years id do it. With this defense our window is open before we gotta start paying 2nd contracts.

Gilmore is special. Film study brains to match his athletic gifts. Reminds me of Luke breaking down tape. He should be a great influence on our young db group.
