DJ might get 8 in a game. I’d wager if DJ was a running back he’d be a similar type of player and production. It is difficult to say because they do play different positions like you said. But I’d wager if DJ had a competent qb he’d lead the league in yards and tds. He’s that good. That’s why I wouldn’t say he’s far and away the best offensive player or he’s just something different entirely. Not really no. DJ is underutilized and has been handicapped by horrible qbs. Also if we land Watson DJ might be one of the players packaged

If DJ got the same amount of touches per game that Christian got he’d put up similar production. He’s not by far the best offensive player. He’s just getting insane amount of touches. Him and DJ are equally talented imo.

If we’re talking about firing people we need to fire the people who were in charge of giving up 3 picks for a guy who shouldn’t be in the nfl. The worst starting qb in the league. We gave up a second rounder a 4th and a 6th for a qb the year before who threw 9 tds and 11 picks. THAT is a fireable offense imo. Don’t scapegoat the OC who has to deal with a qb like Darnold who had nothing to do with bringing Sam here. Same OC who has shown to scheme his ass off and get people wide open but Darnold decides to throw it into quadruple coverage. There is no OC in the league that can win with this dude.

I remember that game. Cam started out like 10/10 or 11/11 then drops started bad. That game was infuriating.

Sam is two years and Teddy was a 3 year deal with an out after two. Those were terrible moves but they were terrible SHORT term moves. This would have ramifications for a decade. I’d like to think they weren’t this dumb to not vet everything out and be absolutely sure he can play with no issues. If not, then welcome to the browns. I mean we’re already there anyway but this would be the final nail in the coffin with absolutely no hope of a future.

Not denying that but this is much different. We’re talking 3 1sts and players for a guy with this baggage. You make sure everything is good before pulling the he trigger on it. If you don’t you’ll set the franchise back at least 4 years but more like a decade.

This would be a long term move for a 25 year old elite qb. This season doesn’t matter long term. It’s what happens if he’s still on the exempt list the following season. You gotta think the org has talked to the league and also legal counsel if they’re willing to give up that much draft capital and players for one guy only for him to be banned from the league. If they didn’t and are just winging it then this will be a disaster of epic proportions. I just don’t see us doing that unless we’ve had clarity.

Yeah they only have San frans 1st because they traded for waddle. Tua is a nonstarter for me if I was the Texans. I’d rather get the picks and defensive/offensive players on rookie contracts so I can make a big trade to the top of the draft for another franchise qb. I’m honestly not sure what players the dolphins have that I would want.

Again it’s not just person. This has been reported by many outlets including people on this forum who have sources. These things leak out and the fact Person is reporting on it shows the org wants it to come out. People like Joe are just a different arm of the panthers org. This also prepares fans that this might go down. if I had to bet everything I have id say Watson is gonna be a panther by the deadlone. We are in a terrible spot. 4 losing seasons in a row with Tepper. two bust qbs, and this org is not afraid to make splashes and trades. It just feels like it’s gonna happen.

The org is not gonna tell Joe person who were gonna pick with the #8 draft pick. That was just speculation with him and other writers when they did that article on who they thought we would pick. We’re definitely in on this trade. Too much smoke from a variety of different sources. Only way we don’t land him is if they don’t feel comfortable giving up more than Miami. My guess is he will be a panther before the deadline. This place will go nuclear because the package will be extreme.

With a competent qb DJ is a 1500 10 td type talent. If I were DJ I would leave and sign with a team that has a competent qb.

Play action only works if you can effectively run the ball. You can’t run the ball if defenses are stacking the box because your quarterback sucks at reading the field and the defense knows this. Darnold is a zero threat in the passing game. Let alone a deep threat. Darnold puts zero stress on defenses. Makes everything insanely predictable. No OC is going to be successful with Darnold at qb.

Chuba is in fact better than cmc because he actually plays while cmc is on the sideline continuously injured.
