Carolina Panthers agree to terms with Cam Newton.
TheRumGone replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
He had the worst supporting cast in the league. And he got them to 7-9. That was with a terrible defense missing legit starters from covid opt outs. Cam can still make poo happen. -

Wish we would’ve given him a 3 year deal to stabilize the offense while we look for the future if it came to that. Cam allows you to compete even if he’s not 2015 mvp cam. We did him wrong. So happy he’s back home. -

We could’ve stacked wins with him at the beginning of the season with the easier part of our schedule to get into the playoffs. It’s now a tall order with the hardest part of our schedule coming up. If cam had started the whole year we’d have been 7-2, 8-1. also if they’re planning on starting him Sunday that’s unfair. He hasn’t played all season, isn’t in football shape and new offense. 3 days from signing to start against the #4 defense in the league. They need to give him a week.

Come home Cam!

Darnold and Teddy are good players? we had 4 1k yards from scrimmage skill position players with someone who could actually run the offense but couldn’t stretch the field. you literally just said Darnold can’t do poo. So what is Brady suppose to do?
-
Damn so it’s almost like we shouldn’t fire Joe Brady

“Quarterbacks who have played a lot better have received far fewer chances.” he’s done

It was a joke. Go brush your teeth

It was a joke

Every single banner and photo in boa should be a picture of cam smiling with his mvp award so he can haunt this fanbase and organization until we find another franchise qb

Darnold Fractured Scapula on throwing shoulder

Yeah and cam doesn’t take pain killers. They probably shot Sam up lol -
Darnold Fractured Scapula on throwing shoulder
TheRumGone replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
They probably knew and it was just a pain tolerance thing. Sam said he could go so he played. This isn’t abnormal in the nfl. Players are playing through pain all the time. If it is something serious that could ruin his career then yeah that’s not good. -
Who are we gonna pick up at this point? Cam’s not signing here. This literally doesn’t matter at all.

Lol idiot

Which trade was worse 2nd for Darnold or 3rd for Henderson?
TheRumGone replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
We’re locked in for his cap hit. That’s what I meant. If the cap isn’t real then why aren’t teams just throwing mega contracts outbidding teams for players they want? Why isn’t Tepper with his billions doing that? Damn if he only knew that we could’ve had an all star team! And he didn’t have to hire all those people in the org that manage the cap! The cap can be finagled but it’s still real and can have compounding effects. I’m talking with the 18 million next year for Sam we could’ve used on signing some decent olineman or making a splash for one in FA. We gave 15 million guaranteed to pat and cam who said they were “surprised” lol. Those are a little above vet minimum type players. We’re paying them as starters. Look at my posts. Didn’t want to sign Robby with tmj drafted and DJ coming up next. DJ won’t be cheaper because the league knows how Sam affects skill players. And they know how talented DJ is. He’s gonna get paid big. I said we’d be negotiating a contract with him this coming off-season if he played well. If he was average let him walk. This has been talked about in the MNF thread but Sam is #2 in pocket time. It means he is making this offensive line worse then they are because he cannot process and react quickly enough. Go read that thread for info. We gave a second rounder for Sam Darnold. I get this and it’s good they’re proactive. Sam should’ve never been on the table at that price though. Ever. You roll with someone else for much cheaper and less draft capital. You bring in a vet. Whoever. Doesn’t matter. And I wanted to draft fields. Darnold was not inspiring confidence for anyone with a brain. This fanbase is dead. -

Uh because it’s just dumb and locks him in for another year. He’s the worst starting qb in the league. We could’ve used the 18 million on other places and were not the saints with whatever the fug it is they do down there. Like let’s throw some money at some olineman or use that 18 million to sign DJ or whatever the fug. It’s just cap space down the drain. if Sam had played well then were negotiating a contract with him after this season regardless. Made absolutely no sense. And like you said if they did it to boost his confidence then damn what are we doing with him in the first place with no backup plans or competition. -
Fields and cam don’t look like qbs he wants to root for
-
That’s not far fetched. He saw him for 3 years before or whatever. Smart on Robby. the only dumb thing I said about Sam before the season started was I thought he’d have a career year here with Brady’s system. Not that that’s saying much as his best year was like 19 tds and 13 picks. But I thought he’d hit the mid 20 range. Bradys system is extremely qb friendly so that just shows you how inept Sam is. I don’t think Sam is gonna play many more games for us this season tbh.
-
Don’t sleep on Robby whenever we get a new qb. Not saying he’s gonna be a 1k yarder but he’s not this bad. I didn’t want to sign him to a second contract fwiw but he’s not as bad as the stats show. Sam has just full on imploded any opportunity for him to come back from the drops and make plays.
-
I’m fine with accountability but the fact this trade for Darnold was made is a huge red flag about their talent evaluations and what they thought they could do with him. My guess is Brady is gone this year regardless if he’s fired or he’s just had enough shitty qbs and takes another job.
