Aaron Rodgers didn’t start until his 3rd or 4th year. It’s what I meant by the Green Bay model. And if cam had to miss time or whatever fields could step in. You set yourself up well that way. You make good football decisions based on cams health/play while having a talented rookie waiting in the future. If fields outperformed cam then fields plays and you respectfully transition from the most important qb this franchise has ever had while still maintaining a good football team.

To be a backup? No. Some version of what teddy was for us. Just competent and can move the offense but isn’t the guy.

It’s why I wanted a 3 or 4 year deal for Cam just like he wanted. We should’ve been following the Green Bay model. Drafted fields with Cam still on the roster. And have him get mentored by one of his idols. Cam is a great teammate and would’ve taught him how to be a pro. We still have the chance to do that with another QB. Hope we sign him to a multi year deal in the off-season. And if they don’t like the qbs in this upcoming class then draft one next year. Get Darnold off this team ASAP. Bring in another competent vet next year for a backup role if we don’t draft a qb.

He does more damage on the team then off. His cap hit doesn’t change that. The dude is done. I wouldn’t want him as a backup. If he starts next year we are fuged. If he has to come in to play we are fuged. If he’s a backup what purpose does he serve? He’s not good at film which is evident by his complete and total failure at processing what is happening on the field. The only positive thing he has is he’s a good teammate. I’d rather we bring a backup in that is competent.

Have to be a mid round pick which the jets would never give him up for this quickly. Love the talent, like some of his movement and throws are Aaron Rodgers esque but he needs work. He’s a better prospect then Darnold imo. More of a fluid athlete/thrower. But don’t do what we did with Darnold for a high round pick again unless you’re getting a known qb.

Houston would’ve been a very shitty place for him. But he was getting offers from teams. Good on him for sticking out for a better situation. Top 5 defense and playmakers on offense.

Except they had been trying to trade for him before Jaycee’s injury so it wasn’t knee jerk. we have him for 2 more years after this one. See how it plays out.

Like imagine if we had kept cam all along and drafted fields this past draft to sit and learn under one of his idols for a couple of years. That’s the Green Bay model. Instead we had to go through 78 mill of absolutely horrendous qb play that tanked promising seasons.

Watch Robby go off last half of the season with cam. I know Robby has played abysmal with drops but Sam hasn’t given him ANY opportunities to play better. Dude has been open. I still think this is more of a Sam problem then Robby problem. Hope we cut Sam and bring in a capable backup and cam signs a multi year deal to stabilize this offense until we can draft the future and have Cam mentor him. What we should’ve done from day 1

I don’t even want him as a backup. Throws too many picks and can’t process poo. A backup should be competent and able to run the offense. He can’t.

We missed you too Cam

That bills game was an anamoly. That’s a powerhouse team. And yeah just marking Tampa down as two losses. Saints we can win. I see us being 8-9 at the end of the year. Maybe 9-8 if we’re lucky.

Yeah I said before if cam was here day 1 we are 7-2 or 8-1. This elite defense was being wasted by Sam Darnold. Quite possibly the dumbest starting qb I’ve ever seen play the position. expecting us to sneak into the playoffs just because cam is here is a tall task. Bucs twice, az, bills and saints are tough. And we’d have to win out the softer schedule. If we had stacked those wins at the beginning we would’ve been in a great spot.

If cam plays it’s up to cam to make it work. I think he’s gonna bring a huge spark and edge to this offense.

Cam should not be playing Sunday but I don’t believe a word rhule says

He was playing the shitty Detroit lions. He’s about to play the #4 defense in the nfl. im still not convinced cam doesn’t play Sunday until I see him on the sidelines with no pads on or we hear he’s not traveling with the team this week.

If kyler plays we’re gonna be looking at cam needing to put up a fugton of points. Even with this ELITE defense, this offense were going against is ridiculous. I don’t think we’re gonna win this game. If we do and cam plays well, the Carolina legend he is will just continue to grow.

Yes better oline but the worst receiving core for separation. Darnold is literally missing wide open receivers consistently that are schemed open. Cam never did that. 20 tds 12 picks for cam. The offense was just a run the fug out of the ball offense because their skill position players comprised of an undrafted fa as their #1. Worst tight ends in football. It was a mess. When Edelman was on the field he got the most yardage in one game in his career with Cam. Cam can still sling it he’s just not the generational arm strength he once was. I suspect he will give us a spark we desperately need.

No excuses for Brady. Sam was the problem. If cam doesn’t play well it is what it is. 3 days without a single football snap with guys around him already in mid season form. It’s gonna be tough.

I don’t like that we’re gonna throw him out there in 3 days. Unfair to cam. Yes he probably would still be better than pj. But he’s not in football shape and going against the #4 ranked defense is a tall task. cam is ultra competitive so he’s gonna play to win. Especially with the added mojo of being back with the panthers. I’d like to see him get another week of practice with the receivers especially Robby to get in rhythm. I suspect DJ and cmc will be good to go with him already tho.

Sam is the #2 ranked starting qb for avg pocket time. He makes a not good oline look considerably worse. Cam can actually read defenses and make throws in rhythm. There’s still going to be issues where cam is gonna have to bail them out with his legs. It’s why I don’t think we’ll make the playoffs with him with the schedule we have remaining. But cam is going to stabilize the offense and give us some hope. If cam started day 1 here? We would’ve stacked wins and gotten in.
