Losing Out is the Way
TheRumGone replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was one of those people. He’s a mega introvert and reports are he had teammates talk for him in team meetings in college. I liked his ability but that was a huge red flag for me. Won’t make that mistake again! 36 tds 10 picks and over 4K yards his rookie year? And it looks like he’s gonna put up similar or better numbers this year. Damn. Hurney needed to go but that would’ve been a nice parting gift. -

Only way Rhule should have another year is if we win out. Not 4-1 or 3-2. He has to win out if I’m making that decision. He has fuged up too many times this season to get any leeway at all and put us in this mess with off-season decisions. I think that’s fair. ATL, Saints, Bills and Bucs twice. That’s 3 games against playoff teams. -

If we drafted Herbert my guess is that we wouldn’t have had the draft slot to get 3 1sts from the niners the following year. still though you’re right. Having Herbert changes the entire direction of this franchise. Matt rhule wanted to trade down, Hurney wanted Herbert. Matt rhule needs to be fired. And even if we didn’t trade up for Herbert, fine. This staff double downed on their stupidity and passed on fields for Darnold. Too many mistakes to keep this staff in place. They need to go. -
Article about Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett

Nfl experience preferred tbh. I’m fine with someone learning how to be a head coach on the job as long as they have nfl experience and have connections to nfl coaching. I’m guessing this dude would be calling the plays as well as being the head coach. -
Train wreck teams can be fun to watch. How low is this team going to go with 5 games left? only thing I hope for this season is cam playing well so he gets another opportunity. Sacrificed his body for this franchise and he wants to keep playing so I hope he gets that opportunity.
-
I just watched rhule’s presser and one of the reporters asked how he would describe jeff Nixon as a play caller and rhule paused for a long ass time and was like ummm I don’t know how to describe play callers. clown show
-
And his “tough guy” Miller obsession. The week before without him was one of the best oline performances of the year and he’s immediately inserted back into the lineup and sucked.
-
Fwiw they also moved Chinn to safety to “prolong his career” I can’t even remember last time he had an impact play. When he was one of the main reasons we were in games last year. this clown show needs to end.

And also I said last year that if you draft a franchise qb and he doesn’t fit your offense then you fire the OC and bring in someone who is capable of designing the system to the guy you drafted. If Brady couldn’t do that then he needed to be gone. Teddy was always suppose to be a bridge for another drafted qb. They didn’t draft another qb and doubled down on Sam Darnold. The plan should’ve been to keep cam, draft a qb and bring in a vet like Teddy that could come in if cam couldn’t stay healthy (he ended up staying healthy in 2020)
-
I get this to a certain extent. He needed someone who knew the offense in a covid year where players couldn’t meet until training camp. That’s difficult. What I don’t get is the price tag we paid Teddy and the years. That was crazy.

Did you see what the Patriots did last night...

Mac Jones sucks -
Cutting cam and trotting out bridgewater and the worst starting qb is where a lot of the over the top hate comes from. It’s not just that but that we signed one to a big contract and traded a high pick and a 5th year option pick up for the other. we suck this year, we’re missing a 2nd and a 3rd for the upcoming draft and Darnold is getting paid 18 million for next year. And the qb class has been deemed not good by many on here for a front half 1st round pick. We don’t have picks in the 2nd or 3rd for olineman. It just feels more hopeless than after Rivera’s first two seasons. Next year feels like it’ll be the same situation. And we haven’t had a winning season in a bunch of years. All of that adds to the hate and frustration.

I don’t really care to defend Brady because this whole staff needs to go but imagine giving an OC Teddy bridgewater and Sam Darnold with a not good line and expecting something. This is a talent driven league. poo even with Teddy he got 4 weapons 1k yards from scrimmage. Darnold is the worst starting qb in the league. I just hope we blow this whole thing up. I’m more pissed that rhule was given a scapegoat then anything else. We did Brady a favor if we keep rhule. Bad fit, bad coaches.
-
He was given poo to work with. We did him a favor tbh
-
Maybe we should keep him then
-
They’re blaming the qb play on Brady. Just rhule covering his ass
-
Generate a spark in the qb room? lmao
-
Don’t even care at this point
-
The way they’ve handled the qb position gets most staffs fired. It’s that bad.
-
I’m just hoping we get lucky at this point because I have zero faith in this staff
-
I have a feeling saints and Steelers are going to reach for a qb this year. So if we want one of those qbs we’re probably gonna have to pull the trigger at our pick. Ideally we trade down and pick up a 2nd or 3rd and draft Malik or Pickett. But if I had to guess this staff is going to go after Pickett. Rhule is familiar with him and they really need a rookie qb to give them more time to Tepper. this isn’t smart. I think both those two qbs can be good in the right situations but they can’t be rushed onto the field which is what will probably happen here behind a suspect line. We really botched this. Also side note: last time Pitt won 11 games was with Dan Marino.
