I lived in Madison for 2 years. It’s basically the Asheville of the Midwest.

Choosing Herbert over tua was the correct call. That is the most important thing imo. You have to get the qb right and Flores wanted Herbert over tua. Tua is a game manager. All of the offensive woes come back to that. There is only so much you can do with him. Herbert is an elite talent. That’s what I’m most concerned with. It is the most important position on the field and we have to get that right. Can a defensive coach still identify offensive players critical for success and be onboard. Herbert had just as bad of an oline as tua until they drafted slater this past season. The dolphins supported tua by drafting waddle. Tua is limited physically. He doesn’t have the arm and has injury concerns. The poor leadership thing is absolutely insane. Those teams played way above their talent levels. They won I think 8 of their last 9 games? That’s poor leadership? They swept the patriots last year the first time a team has done that in 20 years. Two winning seasons with tua, a young game manager, starting. Flores would bring instant credibility and respect to our very young team.

Wtf post is this lol. Tua sucks. Deal with it. We’re talking about identifying offensive talent with a defensive coach and you smeared him as if the the most important position on this he football field was his fault when it’s obvious that management and ownership is complete poo on the dolphins. He wanted the better qb. Nothing he did was publicly disparaging to tua. But what he didn’t say spoke volumes. I’d love to have a coach like that here. No nonsense, no bullshit. The anti rhule.

“Numerous personnel men and coaches around the league have heard, dating back to last season, that Flores would have preferred to select Justin Herbert over Tagovailoa, although team and league sources say general manager Chris Grier consults with Flores on all big personnel moves and in general tries to provide the personnel the coaches covet. Regardless, Flores was quick to hook Tagovailoa from games his rookie season, injuries have been a problem for the passer since his time at Alabama, and the Dolphins have done considerable work on Watson, with owner Stephen Ross quite intrigued by the quarterback, sources said”.

Flores wanted Herbert, the GM and owner wanted Tua. Flores complained constantly about tua’s work ethic and he would never be the guy to lead them to championships. This is the same coach who spent 15 years in New England starting off as an assistant scout and worked his way up to the d coordinator position. He literally saw what a good quarterback does for a team. Head coach Brian Floreshas made it clear to those around him how much he prizes availability at the quarterback position (and prefers bigger, strapping pocket passers all things considered), spending his time as an assistant in New England around Hall of Famer Tom Brady.

It’s still Flores over leftwich for me flores brings immediate respect and toughness and demands his assistant coaches perform and do their jobs or they’re out. No nepotism. Perform or get out. He is literally the anti rhule. Those dolphins teams had no business playing as well as they did.

If rhule actually got the Michigan job Flores would be #1 on my list.

I literally don’t care they traded for Darnold. It’s what they traded and that they picked up his 5th year option without seeing him play in practice or preseason or anything. It’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen a franchise do. If they threw a 5th or 6th at Darnold that’s fine to see if he could work some stuff out. Low risk maybe some sort of reward. But to then double down and not bring in competition whether through the draft or a FA is fuging insane. I said before we should’ve been looking at the draft since rhule got here, kept cam and kept trying to get the next franchise. At the very least Cam is a leader and sets good examples for a very young team. He could’ve stabilized things. Priority number one is qb. You aren’t doing poo without a legitimate one. rhule is an idiot. He think you can still win super bowls with players like Jimmy, a game manager. You can’t anymore. That’s just the reality. -

It’s either trade for Watson a known top 5 qb (RW and Rodgers are 0% coming here)or keep throwing high draft picks on a qb until we land a great one. There is no trading for mediocre to a little above game manager qbs to solve this problem. We need a franchise changing player. andy Reid: “Most of these teams that are getting this far have good quarterbacks, that's just how it works.” stop trying to deal for qbs who don’t move the needle. -

If we trade for Jimmy or Kirk cousins just lol -
This is a really good hire. Surprised we got him tbh.

So he’s not gonna shut us up then. if he takes a reduced workload and works mostly out of the slot like people have been screaming for since 2020 then yes. If they continue using him like they have people like you will keep saying “when healthy”

You’re right I’ll edit

Yes but look at this starting line jonah williams LT 1st rd pick quinten Spain guard undrafted FA trey Hopkins undrafted FA hakeem adeniji 6th rd pick isiah prince 6th rd pick (Miami) the fact burrow made this work into a Super Bowl team is insane. I can’t stress enough that this is not normal. Burrow is just really special. We absolutely need to snag a qb and I’m on board with grabbing one at 6 but we need to throw draft picks and FA money at the line as well because what burrow has done here is the exception not the norm. Like usually you would need an elite defense to counteract shitty oline play but they don’t even have that. Burrow has just been incredible in big moments and the defense has been opportunistic.
-
He had some really good games against the Steelers and packers. He needs stability, a good coaching staff and GM. Looks like he’s about to get all 3. This past season was a wash for the bears. the diehard fans hated that staff and are really excited about fields.
-
Again the Ohio state thing was from a previous coach. That has nothing to do with fields and the new kid tearing it up for them now. Saying fields ain’t it is premature as hell.
-
People should stop saying this. Burrow is rare. Most qbs need a couple years to grow. And burrow got elite weapons in 2 years. Fields was on a lame duck coaching staff with a HC who didn’t know how to use him. And he played in 12 games. He flashed. I have a feeling he’s gonna make people look very stupid. Their new GM and HC have said they are gonna do what needs to be done to support him.
-
I’ll be surprised if Jimmy doesn’t choke here

Notice these top caliber teams when one guy goes down they have someone step up and produce. Rams TE goes down and the backup has a huge game in the fuging championship. We feel so far away from all of this.

Take Willis at 6 if we pick one. Might as well swing for the fences.
