Yeah he has a Zach Wilson body type. 6 3 205. Problem with him is his playing style. He will get fuged up in the nfl if he continues to lower his shoulder. He’s too small. He is very talented tho.
-
I like corral. Big time arm.
-
For the Willis isn't that fast crowd

Like I said in the other thread he has elite quick twitch that will transfer to the nfl level escaping defenders in and out of the pocket to make plays. Basically he’s shifty as hell. I have not seen him have elite straight line speed tho. He’s also not small. He’s built like a linebacker. 6” 225 and people were saying his playing weight was at 230. Massive legs. -
Yeah they’ve been linked to him since the senior bowl.
-
You don’t miss out on talent because your staff sucks. Coaching staff can be replaced, talent is talent. Just like the bears and Justin fields.
-
No. I’d take Willis.
-
I guess this is better than the tiger woods gif you posted after we traded a second for Darnold.
-
Hilarious one of the better orgs in the league is linked heavily to Willis and rumors they’re willing to move up but we’ve got some people on here that want nothing to do with him
-
Yeah and they know the importance of the qb position.
-
Fuuuuuuuck

I know. I just find it interesting what people were saying after Zach Wilson’s crazy pro day throw compared to Malik’s pro day throw today. People have their favorites and will prop up or minimize based on that.
-
Yeah it’s interesting reading comments in here and now and i did want Zach. I still think he can be good under the right circumstances/team. I said before I thought he should sit a season. Malik I think similarly.
-
Malik is SPECIAL
-
Yeah Willis has elite quick twitch not straight line speed. I never got the Vick comp. He’s more RW to me. Has elite escapability and elite arm talent. Saw this dude at liberty flick a 60 yard bomb in stride to the reciever off his back foot. the problem with him is you’d see nfl level elite plays mixed in with horrific throws. You could even say his college play was similar to Josh Allen in terms of passing. They’re not the same build obviously.
-
Yeah I’ve been reading teams have been gushing over his X’s and O’s whiteboard stuff. He’s obviously highly intelligent. the point in all this is he’s raw. He needs to be coached up and he needs practice in pro style systems. It’s gonna take time but I think he can lean on his athleticism and special traits while he grows in the pocket. That said he could bust. He doesn’t have the experience so we don’t know. But I’d take a shot on him if it was my choice.
-
He has double jointed thumbs. The hands are still a worry when you have the biggest fastest strongest dudes in the world swatting at your hand to get the ball out. I don’t know if this will be an issue for him because it’s impossible to predict the future but the fact teams are literally asking him to show the grip points to it being a concern for teams. perspective on Pickett's 8.5 inch hands of 663 QBs w measured hand sizes since 1987, only 9 had smaller than 8.5" hands there is no QB in the NFL with 8.5" hands there has been no QB to enter the NFL in at least 5 yrs w 8.5" hands last successful QB w 8.5" hands was Mike Vick

Apparently he played under Arthur in Tennessee and was very bad. this was a desperation signing.

I’m not talking about trading for a qb. It’s obvious no current elite qb is gonna come here so we have to draft one and try to develop him. The game is different now. It’s a qb driven league. I could see what you’re saying back in the day. But if you don’t have an elite qb, you’re not making consistent playoff runs and competing for championships. Every single year you see the elite quarterbacked teams in the playoffs. That’s where we want to be. The teams that are more well rounded with low end starter qbs do compete but they’re not as consistent.
-
Think of it this way. You draft a qb in the top 10 you’re buying that he’s gonna be a franchise altering player. If he’s not that, he’s a bust in my opinion. Even if he becomes a low end starter that’s still a bust from a top 10 qb pick. Who would you choose between the two to become that franchise altering player; Kenny Pickett or Willis? I’m taking Willis all day. If they’ve decided against Willis then we might as well go oline or dline.
-
I’m a big believer in drafting qbs, oline and dline high. Build your trenches, get your qb, no matter the order the picks come up. But I think people need to realize we might not get a high draft pick next year. We might not get a chance to draft a special qb high next year. That’s why I’m good with taking a shot. I know rhule sucks. But our younger players are getting older, we’ve made very solid moves outside the qb position this off-season. Willis is SPECIAL but he’s so raw that I get why people are scared to pull the trigger at 6. You aren’t doing anything in this league consistently without a superstar at qb. Consistent playoff runs are the floor here. Gotta take the shots when they come.
-
Yup we’re drafting this dude. Everyone mentally prepare lol
-
Then he should be fired along with Matt
-
Only qb id draft at 6 is Malik. He’s the only one with superstar potential. Otherwise I’d pick best oline/dline. That’s it.
-
Does not have Derek carrs arm imo. I’ve seen Carr bomb 70 yard passes.
-
The best long term pick would be malik imo the best short term pick would be Pickett which is why I think we pick Pickett unless rhule is completely boxed out on draft day and Scott has been given assurances he’s here long term. If you started Malik day 1 you’d have to plan your offense around backyard football style in the passing game and have a very strong run game with a good defense. Closest comp I could see is RW rookie year in Seattle with beast mode. That would be the goal for this upcoming year. He’s just gonna need time to grow in the pocket. If we actually did pick Malik and he was named starter you’d have to beat into his head to not turn the ball over and on crucial downs use your special traits. pickett would open things up more for us day 1 passing wise but long term I think this dudes ceiling is a fringe starter.
