I have a feeling it’s gonna be a safety. I think they’re gonna target Grant if moehrig isn’t there i want a tackle either RT or LT but I just feel like they’re gonna go safety.

I was expecting this after passing on fields.

I’m pretty sure I read arod to Denver is happening so maybe that’s why they passed on fields.

It will get used up by moton, dj and a couple others. Take out moton if we have a player on a rookie contract and there are moves we can make on established vet olineman. I’m trying to look at moves from a big picture perspective. Fans want immediate success. I get it this franchise sucks right now and has since 2018. But it looks like we’re putting ourselves in good positions to build this team up. Qb is the only thing I’m seriously concerned about going forward. Passing over fields for horn might bite us in the ass majorly. Not because Horn is gonna bust it’s just positional value and franchise qbs are so damn hard to find. Harder then lineman imo.

Teven is a freak of nature. Would love him here regardless of LT or RT. If he can only play RT we don’t have to sign moton long term and we can use that money elsewhere, specifically on the line.

If we take another DB I’d like Richie Grant. There would be no excuses for the defense. We’d have talent at all levels.

I know people are down on this pick but I’m trying to look at it through the staffs eyes and what they’re trying to do. Horn thrives in press and physicality so looks like we’re trying to go away from soft zone coverages which will help the dline obviously. Also they are apparently huge on RAS scores. Chinn had a 10.00, Horn a 9.99. Look what they did with Chinn. I’m hopefully that we’ll look back and say this was a justified top ten pick. Although if fields becomes a franchise qb and darnold sucks (I’m expecting mediocre) or we don’t address qb in a meaningful way then yeah it was a bad pick not because of Horn but positional value.

I really like teven and even if you think he projects as a RT that might be a good way to not have to pay Moton, slide teven into RT and that freed up money you can use in FA to address LT next year. We’ll see.

He was past his prime but still really solid. And Norman was literally the best corner in the league that year. Your argument is suspect.

Norman and peanut for most of the season. Norman was an all pro. We had two top shelf corners on that super bowl team

What we are now is not what this staff wants us to be. All that soft zone was because like you said we lack the bodies to run press man. Horn is the start of changing that. I think people need to look at big picture stuff with the clues that this staff has given us I am still kind of bummed about fields. I wanted him over Horn. But these are the decisions that make or break coaching staffs. So we’ll see what happens.

He’s much more than a great athlete. The jump from 2019 to 2020 was significant. I expect him to keep going with plus nfl coaching. Mentally he is a Ramsey clone. We need someone with his traits and mentality in the NFCS. I’d rather we took fields but I’m not gonna act like this dude sucks. A top ten pick? I think people will look back and say that was a fair place. We’ll see. Again the biggest thing for me is what happens with fields. If he becomes a franchise qb then this was the wrong choice, not the wrong choice because Jaycee sucks. He doesn’t. our staff seems to be high on these RAS scores. Chinn was a 10.00, Jaycee a 9.99. The thing that really sucks is that Marty put us in this position with signing Shaq and letting bradberry walk. We needed a corner desperately with the receivers in the NFCS. I think Horn is gonna be a baller and some of y’all will eat crow just as far as him as a player. The only thing that will make this sting is if fields becomes a franchise qb. Because that position trumps every other position.

Horn will be a very good player. Stings to not snag fields but these are the make and break decisions for this staff. See if it works out.
