  1. They better not call poo on us after that bullshit
  2. We have the #1 defense that’s all there really is to talk about lol
  3. I’m not “worried” just apart of the game managing the cap.
  4. He’s not wrong but the most talented player on the team that year played the most important position on the field.
  5. There’s no prejudice. Players like Brian do not grow on trees. They are extremely, extremely rare. You pay people like him because they are the foundation of your franchise and he’s still super young. He hasn’t even hit prime age for pass rushers. The most important positions on the field are QB, LT and pass rusher. And I’m one of those people who tends to be stingy with cap. You pay Brian. He has the ability to be an all time great if he stays healthy. If there is a choice between Hassan and Brian you pick Brian every time. There is no “two for the price of one” here. He is too talented and at such an important position to let walk. It’s the closest thing to letting a young franchise qb walk.
  6. It was a stupid post amongst many other stupid posts you’ve made.
  7. Eh we’ll see. We obviously need a quality player to pair with Brian but if he’s asking 80 million we can’t tie that much money in the dline without other areas being affected. I’m guessing Brian is gonna get upwards of 100 mill. I wouldn’t follow the saints cap strategy. They had an older brees they were trying to win a championship with. And even they drafted a player to pair with Cam.
  8. I’m not sure how we’re gonna figure out his payday. Brian has two more years (fifth year option) on his rookie deal and we’re probably looking at a gigantic deal for him. Then if Sam works out we gotta sign him to a sizable payday. Then we got DJ. Lots of sizable contracts coming up. I know we got the space but we need to be smart.
  9. Roy seems to have a splash play once a game. For a sixth round rotational player he’s solid.
  10. I was watching some nfl program where one guy said that snow does a lot of stuff you see on the offensive side of the ball only with defensive players. Not sure what that means. But then another former Dallas player said snow’s defense reminded him a lot of wade phillips.
  11. Yes. It’s too early to eat crow on anything “after two games” against subpar opponents. The biggest thing for me would be Darnold. I’ve been pretty vocal that I didn’t like the move and thought it was even worse to not bring in a drafted rookie to compete against him. That’s still up in the air after two games for everything i said in my original post.
  12. This is an extremely premature thread. Two games against the worst team in the league and a saints team who didn’t have half a dozen top shelf players playing as well as a bunch of offensive coaches out with covid. Real tests for me in the first half of the season are the Vikings, Eagles and Dallas. Vikings are much, much better than their record indicates and the Eagles and Dallas have explosive offenses. We come out of the first 8 games with a 7-1 or 6-2 record I’ll feel more confident going forward. The real tests on this schedule are the Bucs, Cardinals and Bills. Those are the elite teams we face this year. I wanna see how we play against them before I eat crow on anything. Darnold is playing steady, solid football and that’s great. Before the season I predicted this would be his best statistical season but that the real tests would be how he performs in big moments. Remember we’re trying to see if he’s a franchise qb going forward. If we want to give him that bigger contract he needs to prove he’s a guy you can trust to make plays in big moments, in big games.
  13. They’re gonna run the poo out of the ball because their wrs suck and their qb is a 3rd round pick with like two days to practice as the starter and film study. If we stop the run mills will be lucky to make it through the whole game.
  14. Burns is starting to become what we had a hoped for...Von Miller in his prime.
  15. Vikings and eagles are good teams too despite their records. If we can beat them and Dallas I’ll feel more comfortable about us being competitive against great to elite teams. We might lose to one or two in that stretch but if we continue to show growth I’ll be happy. I think we have an outside chance of making the playoffs this year just because this defense looks really legit. Bills and Tampa twice to end the season comes after our week 13 bye. We’re gonna have to stack a bunch of wins before then to have a shot.
  16. And that may not happen. At oks he was running through WIDE OPEN holes. He has ridiculous straight line speed. I haven’t seen much from him that shows he can be shifty. I think Brady can scheme him open and use that speed to our advantage but right now he’s not a true #2. Hope he gets better. I’m a little more interested to see what Royce can do. If cmc has to miss any games this year we need someone who can reliably run and take pressure off Darnold.
  17. He’s a fourth round pick. He has more of a chance of not working out then being a solid contributor. hope for the best and that he can carve out a nice role with the team.
  18. Posted this in the other thread but Hope to see this type of pressure continue. It’ll be interesting to see how a defense like this plays against Tom Brady who is known for quick release passing.
  19. This wasn’t on jameis tbf. This defense is playing elite football.
