  1. I said it from the beginning. Go look at those threads. There were several of us.
  2. Brady needs to continue to get meaningful snaps this year. We need to see where he’s at and if he can maybe be a future starter. If Brady could get starts at LT or guard and look decent I’d make a FA lineman splash and draft a qb in the first round. Use that 3rd on an interior olineman and go from there. We are not fixing this oline in one off-season. If rhule sticks with Darnold he’s gonna be done here quick.
  3. Naw you don’t pick it up. If Darnold balled out this year we would be looking at extending him this coming off-season either way. Yeah you might have to deal with others bidding on him but he more than likely would’ve stayed here. He had a higher chance of continuing to be a bust then actually succeeding but this staff has been delusional about qbs since day 1 so whatever.
  4. I think he stays on the team but hopefully we bring someone else in like Malik or another vet qb. We already picked up his 5th year at 18 million which lol we are a dumb org.
  5. Cam still stood strong in the pocket and delivered during horrible stretches of oline play. He didn’t act scared, he made it work more often then not. Also Cam made the olines better than they were because he was an escape artist and hard to bring down. Ask those guys who played with Cam. They will all tell you he made life easier for them. He helped those guys make pro bowls. again nobody here is saying the oline doesn’t need an upgrade but you cannot overlook that Darnold is the absolute worst qb in the league in clean pockets over the past 4 years. Stop ignoring the obvious. Dude does not have what it takes. 2 sacks Sunday were on the oline. Nowhere for Darnold to go to. That happens to qbs on sundays every single Sunday even with some of the top olines in the league. Otherwise the line was fine You guys are expecting perfection that is never going to come. It’s not Darnold it’s the oline. It’s not Darnold it’s Brady. Darnold just sucks. Deal with it.
  6. Not really, I gave two examples. You guys live in a fantasy world where we can build up this oline to perfection in one off-season. “If only everything was absolutely perfect for Sam he would be good!” We will have to invest 3 1st round picks in the oline over the next three years and then you’ll have to hope those guys pan out. Every single fanbase except like 4 teams bitch about having the worst oline in the league. The talent just isn’t there. However! There are guys talented enough and strong enough to make plays and not get happy feet in the pocket. I named two. There are many more if you watch teams besides the panthers.
  7. This would be smart. Trade him to a playoff cb needy team like GB.
  8. Cam and RW had/have notoriously bad lines and still stand strong in the pocket and deliver. There are other good qbs who can do this. So while yes the oline needs an upgrade because we should always be striving for that I think we need to just call this what it is. The dude can’t handle it and gets happy feet in clean pockets. He can’t process correctly and is inaccurate. He’s had the worst completion percentage in clean pockets of any qb in the league over the past 4 years. No oline is gonna be perfect. Need to find a guy who can deal with it while still upgrading oline talent as best we can.
  9. That second year they went 10-5? 23 tds 16 int. He threw for more tds his first year there. Like I don’t get what you’re trying to do here. Most of the time people are just who they are when you start getting into their 4th and 5th years. I’m fine with Darnold staying here as long as we have a drafted qb behind him or Darnold can back up whoever we trade for. Even IF he somehow gets better next year it’s still not good enough. actually jay cutler is a perfect example. Very talented, very turnover prone regardless of team changes. He’s just who he was the entire time.
  10. It was in direct response to p55 saying even the great ones having growing pains in their first year in new systems. Then he named Johnny Unitas and Joe Namath lol
  11. He’s never been an x and o coach. He has said that time and again. He leaves that to coordinators. He’s basically just a corporate manager. I still like rhule and think he can be successful but he needs to find a franchise qb or it’s just not gonna work out.
  12. Carr is the only one I would take. That dude is a baller.
  13. Then we should’ve let cmc hold out and tried to trade him. His value was at its highest after a 1k 1k season. That’s what smart orgs do. Actually what smart orgs do is not draft rbs in the top ten lol
  14. Again. He consistently posted franchise qb numbers with shitty olines and shitty skill players. Darnold needs everything to be perfect for that to happen. And move on to what? Darnold? lol. I already said I’d take cam on a one year deal because he’s the best option midseason. This is just a fun topic that you had to jump in and poo on for no reason. No cam is not the future. We need to be actively looking for the qb of the future. You are annoyingly condescending.
  15. Nobody thinks cam is in his prime. Just that he’s a better option then Darnold right now. This isn’t hard to grasp. cam didn’t fail in Carolina in losing seasons. He consistently posted roughly 4000k yards and 25-30+ tds while having poo olines and poo wrs. He made poo work better than most with horrible skill players and horrible lines.
  16. Uh no. 2 sacks were not the qbs fault. overall the oline was fine today. Darnold is just not seeing the field or Robby was dropping almost everything. Also cam is one of the most elusive qbs in the nfl. Like RW who has been dealing with poo lines for years. We’d get better play overall with a better qb. Doesn’t mean the oline doesn’t need to be upgraded as much as possible but Darnold ain’t it.
  17. Yes dude. Cam is one of the greatest rushing threats this league has ever seen. Sam randomly has 5 rushing tds that’s not the norm for him. The fact you think Darnold is on cams level rushing is hilarious. Again this isn’t about one game. Sam is regressing. His play has deflated the team. It started showing in the cowboys game and has gotten worse each subsequent game. i want cam back because he’s better than Darnold and the only other option that’s available midseason. Darnold is primed for a full on implosion game. If he does this against the shitty giants we need to just tank. Cam isn’t coming back but it’s fun to think about.
  18. Darnold is not good. Different qbs read the field differently or in Darnold’s case not at all. He’s bad dude. Cam would inject LIFE into this offense regardless if his arm is not the same. He can still make the throws and is still a running threat. Darnold deflates this offense with his poor decision making (like the first throw of the game) and has panic attacks if his first read isn’t open. cam is objectively better than Darnold even at this stage of his career. Some of y’all have such huge egos that you can’t see what is right in front of you because it would mean you were terribly wrong and what some of us were warning when we traded for Darnold and that we wanted to continue to see more after the first 3 games. This isn’t just a hot take after this one game. Darnold is regressing majorly and we need a shake up. It will never happen but if I was in charge I’d be signing cam to a one year contract.
  19. Of course not midseason. We have no options right now. I’m talking about college qbs and franchise qbs that are possibly disgruntled and looking for a trade after this season is over.
  20. Worse case scenario rhule and co use that last drive to excuse absolutely terrible play and think he’s the answer. We need to be actively looking for the future at qb and upgrade the oline as best we can.
