  1. Boomers pissed the qb that looked like them sucked more than any qb we’ve ever had and a real qb is now back in the building
  2. He made cmc look like a little brother excited his big brother was back home from college. That moxy is leadership. Everyone looks to cam. Cam is THE guy. 15 yard penalty was worth it for that. This team was dead in the water and he single handedly brought the mojo back into the building.
  3. One of the most baller td celebrations I’ve ever seen. Worth it.
  4. The only dumb thing I said was I thought Brady could get him to post career numbers. Which isn’t that much more but I thought he’d throw something like 20-25 tds with 15-18 picks. I thought he’d be able to push the ball downfield and give our receivers a chance. I thought Moore would post big numbers with him because he has a strong arm. He was worse then I thought for sure. The biggest issue I always had was the price and picking up the 5th year option. I’m fine with trading for a guy who has some talent but needs to be worked on. But you give up 4th round picks for that not a second, 4th and a sixth. And then pick up a 19 mill option without seeing a snap? We gave up that much for a guy who had 9 tds and 11 picks the year before. We got fleeced so fuging bad.
  5. I browsed the jets forum after we traded for him and some during his more “solid games” 90% of the posters said he would self destruct in due time. They knew. Some of us knew. There were a few who thought all he needed was weapons and better coaching. All of those posters gave up and called him a bust yet we still have a handful of posters here who think he can somehow grow into more. Sam is a franchise killer. He sucks all the energy off the field. he gets coaches fired. He made Joe Brady look inept. The same Joe Brady who got 4 players 1k+ yards from scrimmage the year before with Teddy fuging bridgewater. All you have to know is he’s the worst starting qb over the past 4 years in clean pockets and this year at the end of his time starting had the second most time in the pocket with one of the lowest air yards. He’s one of the dumbest starting qbs I’ve ever seen in the league. Football dumb. Not a slam on him as a human being. Like maybe worse then jimmy clausen or just as bad. I think the worst part of this is that he ruined a championship defense for half the season. At least with jimmy we could be like “ok we’re gonna get the top overall pick to build from.” But this team is so good overall that him being as bad as he was is magnified ten fold.
  6. Agree to disagree. It was on some Nolan “fake smile” whatever his last name was level to me.
  7. Im talking football field results. Top picks, dreadful play, full on busts. Sam was the #3 overall pick. Like goddamn he’s terrible. Not even competent. The best we could’ve hoped for was Alex smith type play. Alex did not play worth the top pick but he could play well and win some games with competent play. Darnold is truly one of the worst qbs I’ve seen on the field at times.
  8. Sam Darnold is Ryan leaf/jamarcus Russell level bust category. Blows my mind people don’t see this.
  9. Purely? I don’t think so. You can be butthurt and racist lol. He checks the boxes for that. If cam is a criminal for buying a stolen laptop in college then I should be locked up for life for the poo I did as a kid.
  10. He called cam dumb and said he was a criminal. Checks all the boxes of a racist.
  11. Running heavy read option doesn’t mean cam gets hit. There are 3 options, handoff to the rb, throw or run the qb. Cam doesn’t have to take hits doing that. He just has to run enough to stress the defense to account for it. Pj was running some read option in the cardinals game. It’s just an extra element defenses have to account for. Pulls the linebackers in. This is what I’m expecting at first until cam gets the rust off more. We need to be a running team. That should be our identity on offense imo with the defense that we have. And whatever that poster above me said we can absolutely run play action and bootlegs with this line if we are running the ball well.
  12. He’s gonna have to make some anticipatory throws with this oline. Gonna have to throw receivers open. Also brady WAS scheming receivers wide ass open consistently Sam was just awful. Gotta remember this oline is not good and cams gonna have to get the ball out of his hands quick at times. I’m still imagining heavy read option. This offense needs to be a running team especially with this defense. That should be our identity and cam brings a new wrinkle to that. Run the poo outta the ball to set up play action, bootlegs, get the ball out of cams hands quick to our playmakers. We’ll see how cams shoulder holds up but while people were freaking out about an “under thrown” deep ball to DJ I was just happy he can give our receivers chances to go up and make plays. That’s all we need. Sam couldn’t even give receivers chances to make plays down field.
  13. I’m sure Brady is gonna be looking at tape from his previous stint in Carolina and see what he does best. I read an article that him, rhule and cam are in the building til late at night after everyone’s left going over stuff.
  14. I really don’t think so. I think he’s done. He might catch on at a training camp but that’s about it
  15. Just laugh out loud at Mac Jones. You guys are just as bad at identifying talent at qb as Matt rhule is. Darnold serves no purpose here. He’s not getting any better. This is who he is.
  16. He’s been that way before he was “shell shocked” dude just doesn’t have the brains/processing for the position.
  17. It’s the opposite he actually does worse in clean pockets.
  18. Yeah I don’t know why people aren’t getting this. If he stays as backup we’re fuged if he has to go in. I’m gonna assume he’s horrible in the film room since he has no idea what he’s doing out there. He’s just a good teammate. That’s it. Tons of good teammates and pros in the nfl. I’d take pj again over him. Pj just went up against the #4 defense and did what a backup is suppose to do. Imagine If Sam played Sunday. Jesus.
  19. It won’t hinder us signing important pieces back
  20. They’re not gonna trade a 2nd to get rid of him. Just not gonna happen.
  21. We’d have wasted 2 2nd round picks and fourth and a 6th for 1 year of worst starting qb in the league play. Lol. Naw I’d rather just cut him and eat the 1 year 18 mill cap hit then trade any more picks.
  22. I’m not one that wanted him fired this year. It was always playoffs or bust in year 3. I hope he can adapt and become a consistent winning coach obviously.
  23. This wasn’t just hindsight but many people here thought the best course of action was letting cam play out his final year of his contract, signing a legit backup (that would’ve been teddy but lol at the contract). Instead they cut him and paid huge money and draft capital to mediocre to downright terrible qb play the next two years. Cam ends up playing 15 of 16 games for the Patriots missing only one for covid and Patriots go 7-9 with a terrible supporting cast and the most covid opt outs in the league. Cam had 20 tds and 12 picks. His two worst games coming after contracting covid. The smart move was always keeping the offense stable with cam and a legit backup in case of health issues and being financially responsible and continue searching for the future at the position. Cutting cam was never ever the right call. Even if say we drafted Herbert or fields. Having cam to learn from was the right move. The way they went completely wrecked our seasons, cost ridiculous amounts of cap for terrible qb play and gave up precious draft picks that could’ve helped shore up the line and find the next qb.
