When you pay a player as much as we paid Christian it has to produce wins. We paid him as the centerpiece of our offense. And he immediately became injury prone which happens all the time with rbs on their second contract. Remember all those times at the goal line for us to win and he couldn’t get it done. We cannot build an nfl offense this way anymore.

I’m pretty sure we get the 32nd pick if we are the worse team because the dolphins forfeited their first for the Brady scandal.

Only team that might’ve given up a 1st was the bills. You can look at this two ways. First they said lol no way because they are a well run org or two cmc didn’t wanna go to the bills which puts in question if he actually wants to win considering they are one of the best if not the best team in the nfl who has the best chance out of all the teams to win a Super Bowl.

We were never competing next year as is. Unless we get super lucky that the qb we pick has immediate success this is gonna be about getting young and growing over the next 3 years. Draft playmakers that can grow with the new guy, protect him, get an offensive minded coach and see what happens. Honestly this just rejuvenated my faith in the org that they pulled the trigger knowing there would be massive backlash.

Also since he’s gone I just wanna say cmc was never a real leader for this team. Not his fault just the way he is. He has a similar personality to luke but luke was a damn fiery leader on the field. Shaq needs to be next. We need new leaders, new talent. Gotta figure out our identity. Jaycee and Icky are the future leaders imo but we need more.

I’m still amazed at the absolute meltdown from trading an oft injured, massive cap hit running back whose best historical season netted us 5 wins. Hopefully this is the end of building around a rb. draft a qb in the first round, draft play makers/oline with the next two rounds. Do this the right way.

Whoever is saying that is dumb. When all these talks came up I said we’d be lucky to get a 2nd. We basically took the rest of the 9ers draft class. The 49ers aren’t a good team this year and have been decimated by injuries. Cmc won’t change that. And there is a high probability he’s gonna miss games. Dude has played 5 games after missing basically 2 seasons and people are acting like we should’ve got a first? It’s honestly fuging weird that the 9ers did it and reeks of desperation. They are a plug and play rb team because of their scheme. Their starting rb has more rushing yards than cmc right now. bills were the only team I could see who might pull the trigger because this is their season and they could risk it because they’re still good if he gets hurt. I read something about Tepper spending a ton of money on revamping the scouting department and systems. So that’s probably why fitterer is going to stay because he was heavily involved in that. I don’t really like him staying but I don’t hate it.

Yeah. I didn’t want to sign him to a second contract. I get his frustration. This was basically a contract year for him and we’ve had barely any offense this year. I’m happy he gets another chance somewhere else with a good qb and it’s good for us as far as cap and the future.
