Yeah I get it. I’ve always said that if Lance goes to a strong franchise and is given time to sit and learn he has big time potential to be a star. Like if the 49ers draft him #3 that is the perfect place for him. Sit behind jimmy G with a great team around him.

I’m biased because he’s a Midwest guy and I live in the Midwest. His traits are super great but yeah I’m not blind that he needs to sit and learn for a year or two. I’d take him if we traded back into the teens and he was there.

Just get ready if we end up drafting him how much this fanbase is gonna poo all over him any chance they get.

The bad performances came during covid poo with teammates not being able to play. it is eerily similar to what happened to deshaun in 2017 as far as questions and concerns. Something that hasn’t been applied to the other qbs. I love Lance but I’m not naive to think we should draft him over players like Sewell. But if fields is there man I would be sprinting to the podium. It’s also such a great situation for him to come to. No pressure. Just compete and grow.

And they were terribly wrong which I get happens sometimes. But what is happening with fields’ grades is extremely strange. Like CRA has said fields has been 1b to Trevor Lawrence throughout his career and then something happened this process where Mac Jones and Zach wilson are grading out higher than fields? I dont buy it. I don’t wanna bring race into it but i don’t really know the explanation as to what exactly is happening with him. He can make all the throws, is a strong leader, is extremely bright with a photographic memory and is athletic as hell. He’s the full package.

Fields is in on another level as a prospect then Sam darnold and that’s even if you take away sam’s horrific 3 years in the league. Whatever is happening to his draft stock makes absolutely no sense and reminds me of what happened to deshaun during his draft class. the highest position of need we have is QB. Over any other position. So if fields fell to 8 we should be running to the podium to grab him. If somehow Sam turned out good/great. That’s draft capital. The biggest obstacles franchises have in becoming consistent is finding a franchise qb. I’d love to have Sewell. But not over someone like fields.

They have said Sam allows us to take BPA and not reach for need. I don’t get why this is so hard to understand. if they like a qb at 8 like Lance or fields then based on those statements they will take the qb. They’ve literally said it wouldn’t stop them from taking a qb.

He’s also 30 years old right now. I dunno how I would feel about this. It’s not good signing corners to lucrative contracts after 30.

Know anything about the contract or if we’d extend him if this happened? I believe he’s in the last year of his deal and the cap hit is 16 million.

I don’t think it is their plan but it should’ve been. Not necessarily teddy but gotten a vet for Wilson to learn behind. I would’ve thought that they wouldn’t have wanted another darnold situation but looks like they’re just gonna throw him out there.

If I was the jets id sit Wilson for a year until they can use their stockpile of picks to add talent around him.

How does one compare trading for a pro bowl franchise left tackle to protect your all pro, mvp qb to us trading for sam fuging darnold? the mental gymnastics some of y’all do is quite insane.

They attract drunk frat boys in cargo shorts and golf shirts. Fwiw they’re actually very talented musicians (specifically that drummer is top notch) but they make some of the most soulless, boring music I’ve ever heard. I also cant stand phish.

I’m fine with us not making this kind of deal right now when we don’t have clarity on the qb situation. We can still build the line through the draft. but this is absolutely a good deal for the chiefs when you have an mvp qb and your franchise tackle tore his Achilles. You HAVE to protect Mahomes. He is your half a billion dollar investment. This is the type of move we were unwilling to make with Cam on this team.

These are the types of moves we should’ve done for Cam in his prime. You have an all pro qb you make big splashes to protect him.
