Remember Darnold will also have some effect on the defense if he’s turning the ball over consistently. Gotta give the D a breather. that said this defense has tons of potential and is majorly talented. We’re just still young. I’m expecting a jump this year with next year or the year after being a top 5 unit. If they do that this year we are gonna win a bunch of games.

Because Darnold was one of the absolute worst passers with a clean pocket over the past 3 seasons. You could blame this on shitty oline play that even with a clean pocket he was gun shy but this is the truth. I like this approach from Rhule. Throw it all at him see how he responds.

No doubt. I think Rhule meant more mentally winded by the pace of the practice. Not that he wasn’t in shape. Jaycee mentioned they picked the pace up yesterday. That’s probably what Rhule meant.

In Jaycee’s interview he was told by one of the reporters that Rhule said he was “a little winded” at practice after missing some of voluntary workouts and Jaycee looked slightly perturbed by that comment. It’s not drama I just found that interesting.

Exactly this. Don’t sign 30 year old CBs to high multi year deals. we need to keep doing what we’re doing. Stay young and fresh. Keep building the roster over the next several seasons. THEN make a big FA splash.

If Horn plays at Jalen’s level then this defense is going to be lights out. I’m still thinking we are a year or two away from this defense being a true force in the league because we are still so young. I look at Burns like he’s an older veteran but he’s just now entering his 3rd year and he just turned 23. That’s crazy.

He makes stupid throws outside of the pocket a LOT. That’s what we’re hoping he fixes up with coaching.

I believe it’s around half that. The restructure was a bad move. I get why they did it but it still sucks. I’m gonna be hopeful for a trade of some sorts. We need to stop paying linebackers and rbs huge money.

Shaq will be cut after this year. No way we take that 18 mill cap it unless he plays out of his fuging mind.

I think we miss the playoffs but show great improvement over last year. The defense will start really taking shape, but I think next year is the year it really shines. qb is such a toss up for me. I think Darnold has a career year but that’s not saying a whole lot. This is a great, qb friendly system that can move the ball fairly easily with our playmakers. So he’s gonna have some pretty decent stats. We are going to be in close games in the 4th quarter and that will really tell us who Darnold is as a qb and if we should move forward with him. so I’m optimistic with parts of the team, and neutral on others. If we make the playoffs this year I will be shocked but it will bode well for our future. If Darnold isn’t it we really need a franchise qb quickly because the NFCS is in a prime spot for the taking over the next several seasons with older franchise qbs retiring and teams being in flux. We have a very good opportunity to dominate the division in the near future.

I just think he is that rare freakish player who will put up huge numbers year 1 in a very pass friendly league. He’s basically Calvin Johnson playing TE.

Yeah the hope was Star would become a threat as a pass rusher because he had some moves and showed off some ability in college. That never happened. I’m hopeful brown will become that threat but I feel like they were similar in college in that respect.

Yeah I see him similar to Star. And we all know what happened when Star left for Buffalo.

Yeah some of the best players on our team right now have 8+ RAS scores with some at 9.99 like Chinn and Burns. Cmc had a 8+ score. I think he just got dinged because of his size like you said. But everything else was elite. Cam had a 10.00. Lol probably the most elite athlete to ever play the qb position Chinn and Burns are absolute freaks. I like what the staff is doing by combining RAS scores with tape. Like The Golden Calf of Bristol had a 9+ but he’s obviously terrible. So you have to match the athleticism with what they do on the field. I like Derrick a lot but I think his ceiling is just very good. Which is totally fine. Don’t see him ever getting into the Donald, Suh category.

Yeah Star had like a sub 4 RAS score which is pretty fuging terrible but he is/was an absolute beast for his position. RAS isn’t the end all be all but i think it’s important for certain positions.

DJ will be one of the best wrs in the league if he has a QB who can get him the ball deep. Hopefully that is Sam. If he does I’m expecting 1500-1800 yards and 10+ tds. I don’t understand how some parts of this fanbase underrate him when he’s produced with qbs who should not be starting in this league.

I was up in northern Wisconsin woods a couple weeks ago. Saw some black bears on the trails. They normally run off when they see humans.
