He’s more than likely not. I’m a panther fan so the fan in me is hopeful that a qb friendly system and working with better coaches can turn on a switch for him. It’s just very unlikely. And I won’t give concrete predictions like we can one day win a super bowl if we drafted fields. But I do like the odds more with fields then Darnold. Or fields at the very least being a better and more consistent qb long term. the quarterback is the most important position in the nfl for long term success in the salary cap era and the best chance to consistently get to the super bowl. History shows this. So I really dislike rhules mentality of 2 > 1. This is the nfl not college. Not finding a franchise qb will get rhule fired. He has two more years after this one for me before I want him gone.

I dunno about 5+ years but you take franchise type qbs when they fall into your lap. I think we still will have an opportunity. But it’s not looking good. rhules mentality of Darnold+ Horn vs a qb draft pick is the type of mentality that can get you fired in the nfl. Love Horn and think he’s gonna be a baller but you gotta take the qb that has the ability to transform your franchise. Hope Darnold works out.

Matt Rhule after SECOND Joint Practice with the Colts
TheRumGone replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
The meltdown if Sam continues to suck is going to be epic on here. Maybe worse then Teddy threads last year. i obviously hope he balls the fug out and he’s the answer. -
Thursday joint practice news and tweets
TheRumGone replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m not really sure what you guys are expecting. We are the youngest team in the league and are in year 2 of Matt Rhule draft and FA after clearing out basically the entire roster. This is gonna take a couple years to see if it’s gonna work with this staff. The goal should be to be better than last year by the end of the season and remain competitive. qb and oline are the biggest issues going forward. The organization decided to go this direction with Sam and prioritizing other position groups but I’ll give them 2 more years after this one and if they can’t find a franchise qb and an oline to protect that person then they need to be replaced. It’s that simple. No need to freak out. -
Wilson is getting thrown into the fire and should not be. That team is still atrocious and the talent they do have is young. They’re more than likely going to ruin him. Wilson is very talented but he needs time to sit and learn. Lance would be the same there. I think fields would have the most success there day 1 but that isn’t saying much. I said before Wilson had the highest chance of busting out of all the top qbs in the draft simply because of where he was drafted.

I honestly don’t really care about this enough to keep up the back and forth lol

This was recently after he was drafted. All over social media him wasted, slurring his words. Not talking about his previous DUI’s. All of those things kinda point to a problem.
-
He also seems to have a drinking problem. I don’t get it either. Some people on here just wanna see Cam fail.
-
Some people on here did. I think cam is going to play really well this year. Lots of weapons around him and that defense will be back from the covid opt outs.
-
Cam was already named the starter.
-
Rg3 has the Baylor connection. I know he wasn’t there when rhule was.
-
Marshall is one of the few rookie wr I’d put expectations on. Having Brady as the OC and already being familiar with the playbook is just an added bonus. I said when he was drafted I expected him to make an impact year 1. My favorite pick of the draft.

Training Camp Day 1 - Thoughts and Observations
TheRumGone replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nobody really gives a poo about pics in training camp besides diehard fans. You keep fans and grow the fanbase by winning. when you cut cam and then have the Teddy debacle then sign Darnold who at this point is a bust while having what 4 losing seasons in a row?.. and it’s not a surprise that this was whatever igo said “the lightest and least energetic crowd” he’s ever seen. when cam was released some posters on here said this would happen until we got another exciting qb and we started winning again. This is not a surprise. Has nothing to do with restricting amateur panthers coverage. -
Badger football is king in Wisconsin but all of that has just been my experience living in the capitol for the past 2.5 years. I rarely see packers gear and it seems like everybody has badger gear.

Soprano's Prequel Releasing October 1st on HBOMAX
TheRumGone replied to Dex's topic in Huddle Lounge
My favorite show of all time. “And some of us wanted a piece of the action. Now we weren't educated like the Americans, but we had the balls to take what we wanted. And those other fugs, those other, the J.P. Morgans, they were crooks and killers too, but that was the business, right? The American way.” https://www.vulture.com/amp/article/the-sopranos-generation-z-memes.html zoomers picking it up and getting it quickly -
It’s also 3 and outs and fumbles and backbreaking int. It was just a general comment that he’s gonna have to sustain drives to take pressure off the defense. That goes for every qb in the league. we have the weapons for him to sustain drives. It’s just something to think about.
