  1. . At this point yes the draft is the only place to get one lol. We refused to sign anyone of value at ol or wr because we assumed we would draft better. If Oher doesn't have an amazing comeback year we are in trouble.
  2. He was routinely shoe strong tackled by people last year. Like line backers and slower safties.
  3. Not all but when your speed is a undrafted guy made of glass and a older player with suspect hands then it is an issue. This sounds like people defending gettleman last year saying bell and chandler will be enough.
  4. Brown gets hurt on every other catch and is still a huge question mark. Ginn is two years older and has ALWAYS been a question mark. He also has suspect hands but I'm happy we have somebody with speed at least. Neither are REAL answers.
  5. And gettleman said he wasn't trading at all. So maybe you should go listen and realize the guy blows smoke.
  6. And this guy has terrible yac. He is the opposite of the kind of receiver we need.
  7. What I don't understand is why we didn't take one of the actual first round quality receivers in the first and then if we really loved shaq trade up to get him. I bet he still would have been there. So this trade reeks of desperation. Gettleman seen receivers falling off the board and had to settle with a slower TE with bad football iq and is passive on the field. This wouldn't be bad if we didn't need speed.
  8. Terrible pick at that spot. A late 2nd rounder early 3rd over an actually need at wide receiver. After passing on almost every receiver in free agency and now this our team must enjoy barely winning when we do with 15 points.
  9. Definitely, no I'm happy with the pick, he's going to be good. Just trying to keep it real here with what he needs help with. He was leaned on especially early, and I get that, and he was covered hard a lot of times because we have no other real threat. He'll get better.
  10. He was the worst. Actually, he was #2 behind Steve Smith Sr.. http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/drops/2014/ Also one of the worst percentages for target of passes caught for someone targeted as much as he was.
  11. Most people agree the guy needs to work on his drops, and not all were recorded either. He's going to be fine, but stop trying to deny he has a drop issue.
  12. I doubt most of them had as many targets, are we really comparing running backs to a WR?
  13. Not exactly. He caught less percentage of his passes than almost anyone on the top list, only 50% of his targetted passes are caught. This shows that not only does he have official drops, but other passes are going by him that a true #1 should catch (granted QB accuracy and stuff comes into play there as well). In his defense, he wasn't as open as he should be because of our terrible WR core around him. I'm not saying he isn't going to be great, and maybe a star, but Panther fans have a habit of crowning anyone that looks semi-capable at a position, especially ones where we haven't had good players in in a while or only had 2 previously (WR for instance). He absolutely needs to work on his hands if he is ever going to be dependable, it is the single BIGGEST issue he has right now as a player. I don't think we'll regret the pick.
  14. He's a beast but he had some terrible drops. Wide open drops that just went through his hands. Don't make excuses. He was the worst offender in the NFL last year, statistically when it comes to drops. I can't blame him, he was known to have butterfingers in college as well. His stats are also full of garbage time so it's not a complete picture. He could have had easily 1200-1300 yards last season if it wasn't for his drops. I think he's going to be fine and a great piece for the future, but he's not a #1 right now but he could be with some more work.
  15. I'd be more worried about him learning to catch right now.
  16. Tillman is better than Decoud, Cason, or Harper ever were. While Rivera/DG failed hard on those signings, this isn't a bad one.
  17. This show is great, and we can now see why he becomes Saul. His brother and his holier than thou speech, Jimmy ends up becoming the kind lf lawyer his brother hates, probably out of spite, strip mall office and all. Changes his name so no one knows that is his brother. Great performances and acting, some may think it's too slow but it's perfect, we need to see how he comes who he is.
  18. Right but if he's interested in padding stats, NO would be better. We'll see what decides.
  19. This is true, and we should be happy with back to backs, if for anything so we don't have to hear the statistic anymore about our division. However, we can't rest on our laurels and not continue to improve. I think some people are just a bit worried that our GM thinks Oher is an anwser, after he also thought Bell was an anwser last year (and Chandler). There IS cause to worry, and posters who do worry, shouldn't get trashed because of that (normal, sky isn't falling posts that is). Settling on Oher/Ginn is not correct, but we can have a more accurate discussion about things like this after the draft. No one can deny DG's success in the draft so far, so that is something to definitely be excited about (esp with another 5th and 6th pick). We should probably be more worried about Shula being around still, but that still falls back on DG a bit.
  20. True, but winning it with a losing record, to me at least, doesn't even feel like a win. We beat a team riddled with injuries and a terrible backup QB only to face the music after that, that we aren't ready for big time. We should be looking to compete with Seattle, not with teams like Tampa.
  21. Yes, and if you actually live in Charlotte, you should know this as well. It's a town that seems to be content on mediocrity. Just look at our coaching staff and the previous one. The fanbase just isn't there yet, but it's getting better. Winning three in a row (with a winning record this time) will help trmendously. This isn't just NFL either.
  22. I have faith in Gettleman, and it's too early to get really worried since we haven't even drafted, but to say Oher solved a problem is a bit of a reach considering he was barely better than Bell. Ginn filled the ST roll, but to say he's filled a "speed need" is a bit of a reach too. He had some success here, but he dropped a lot of deep balls and is getting older. The Dickson hype is unreal for a guy who had like 150 yards the entire season, I suppose we just remember that one game though. So to reiterate, I trust DG and will patiently wait, but it seems (as usual) this board seems content on settling for mediocrity. It seems winning the division with a losing record is the pinacle of our dreams on here. I'm hoping we get some gems in the draft and laugh at any doubts. I still think Jennings should be signed if reasonable and we should still draft a speed WR, because we're one Ginn injury away and one "Philly-deepball-catch-ouch-my-shoulder-hurts-again" away from being super slow.
