Well when it comes to a lot of people, it really IS a babysitting thing as to the complaints but I understand that it is stressful for them. Like I said, snow days are kind of the low level example and we should have expected this from that. Also, as long as people with no kids still pay taxes for other people's kids to go to public school (personally I'm ok with) they have a right to say what they want. It's really a wide society issue right now that will impact the future. I think the proper thing to take from it is we need to invest more in education as a country. But also, this pandemic has been unprecedented. How can you prepare for something like the last year? Though at this point, it's time to be prepared for the future in case more illnesses develop like this. Invest more in making this work, invest more in your teachers, get teachers vaccinated ASAP. Also wouldn't hurt if our government was helping people out more this last year. It's a big combination of fail over the last year with bad leadership all around at the top.

This. People are mad their free babysitter isn't at their beck and call right now. It's really ironic because a lot of them are the first to cry out against the big "S" word with helping out your fellow man. It's the same crap when snow days happened but obviously a larger scale. But there is a larger social issue with this if people would look at it differently. It's pointing out that, pre-covid even, the system is just broke, from school to a normal family spending their life working (both parents mostly) and having little time for their children. Yup, everything is fragile. I wish people would be jumping on the "hey maybe it's time to fund education in this country more than the MIC". Really, people should be seeing a lot of cracks in our country but instead are narrow minded.

If the Panthers land Stafford, it is win now, not rebuild
Zaximus replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think when you win meaningless games the year before that loses you draft picks then maybe win now IS the right way of looking at things. The mindset is obviously WIN. Stafford on this team last year would have won 4-6 more games in my opinion. The defense improved dramatically toward the end of the year more than I thought they would. We just signed CMC to the biggest RB contract ever.... aren't we kind of in win now anyway? If we wait more years than what was the point of that when he's hitting close to 30? -
I think someone did an analysis and there was like 25 missed calls, and some heavy hitters. Obviously the helmet to helmets and hits that let to fumbles, then the batted fumble, and many more. This is when I knew 100% the NFL rigs games to fit a narrative.

NO TO WATSON, NO TO STAFFORD.... YOU WIN THROUGH THE DRAFT
Zaximus replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Montana didn't do terrible actually, and for that time period in the NFL his stats weren't terrible either. Also his first season there he took them to an AFC Championship. They won 13 games that season. The second year wasn't as good but still led them to the playoffs. He was also 36 when he was traded. Joe Flacco was really never that great. He won a Super Bowl yes but he's quite inferior to someone like Stafford. Vick actually had one of his best seasons as an actual passer with the Eagles. He was never that great before, was just flashy. Stafford is a much better QB. Cousins has been great since joining the Vikings, he just had a 35 td - 13 int season for instance. Favre had his best season of his career way late with the Vikings. If not for the NFL letting the Saints headhunt him in the playoffs with late hits over and over, they probably go deeper. Palmer was already an injury risk years and years before he went to Raiders. Stafford also is much better. Cam..... was broken and everyone knew that. So really, that isn't totally true about not having success. -
Yeah so lady that got bounced out is SWORD agent, basically the daughter of Captain Marvel's best friend we seen in the movie. This probably means, like in the comics I think, that Nick Fury is running SWORD right now so that is the connection. I'm pretty sure yeah, Wanda has created this in some capacity to cop with the grief of Vision. She either created it, or someone else created it to deal with her.... coping. I have a theory that somehow this show will introduce us to the MCU's Mutants/X-Men finally. Somehow she'll join multiple universes together (potentially another multiverse where X-Men are). I think this also leads into possible the next Doctor Strange movie dealing with multiverses. It's also possible Wanda literally creates a multiverse and creates mutants out of her need to have an actual family and her brother again. She could see herself having a lot in common with them and creates them. This could be how we get Magneto in the MCU (her dad in comics) and a new brother, etc. I think SWORD is trying to either stop her from doing damage, or she already has done damage. Either way, I really do think this show is going to be very important for the MCU at large, with potential X-Men and Fantastic Four entries (please a good Doom please) to the MCU

If Watson really doesn't want to come here, then this makes sense. Stafford throwing to our guys could be fun to watch. I just worry about our offensive line and protecting him.

Right now, with this core, yes, it's the best in the league. Tell me, what other team had two 1k receivers? Point out the team that has a better core especially teams that are in need of a QB.
-
He has a no-trade clause. Unless he doesn't want to win ever, he would most definitely nix that trade. I think the fact he has the clause is what makes the Panthers an interesting choice. When you look at teams that would probably want him we're one of the best landing spots. Now we hired his old coach and he's from Georgia which isn't super far away. We literally have the best wide receiving core in the entire league. Any QB that can throw more than 10 yards would be loving this group. Also a potential healthy CMC in the mix. Our defense played surpassingly well the second half the season and should get better. We would have won 5 more games at least this year if we had a better QB.

It's really weird, "early" reviews were good, but then people watched and pretty much across the board the consensus is it's terrible. I read a bunch of reviews too (just to make sure it's none of the "omg women" crowd). I'm not in a rush now. DC just can't get out of their own way.

The game is pretty well optimized on PC IMO. I have a 1060gtx 6gb and it plays pretty well on high/ultra settings. I don't think that is an issue on PC like it is console.
-
Yeah it plays really well on my 1060, oddly. My biggest issue so far is the driving. The driving is TERRIBLE. I can't remember a worse driving experience in a game, not recently at least. It's like they spent an hour on it lol. The game needed another 6 months or more to really reach full potential. Liking it though.

This happened to me once, and it was confusing AF because it was in the tutorial for teaching you brandance lol. Past that, it's just been little bugs, nothing game breaking. Kind of reminds me of the stuff Besthesda has in their games with odd enemy death ragdolls and stuff not "clickable". They'll get it fixed, like Witcher 3, but this game probably could have used another quarter before release. I heard the console version is really bad. I'm playing the game on a 1060 gtx 6gb and it's actually playing pretty well on high/ultra 1080p so that is kind of impressive. I tend to give open world games a bit more leeway when it comes to bugs just because of the nature of a billion variables. AI is a little lackluster at times too. I think people expected a bit too much from the game but with all the years and all the hype that was bound to happen. I'm still early on with it though, taking my time doing side missions and whatnot so I don't eat through story too fast.

Is Kony Ealy the next great Panthers defensive end?
Zaximus replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Ealy could have had 10 sacks or more this year if playing time wasn't poached from him when the vets had to "get their time".- 51 replies

Panthers Practice Update - California Knows How To Party
Zaximus replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
lol when I read TD "was carted off" I got scared for a sec. Anyone else kind of "sad" Allen is playing after we were so good up front without him vs Arz? -
Everything they said is true. The field will probably be trash, no lie, but that will benefit us, I can't deny that. That's football though and that's why home field means so much. Want it? Win more games.

lol that first pic

Pulling for the Bengals until......
Zaximus replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
The thing is, he doesn't get benefit of the doubt because of all the previous dirty plays, much like Suh. -
No, we didn't. We were bad in the ATL game. Forget scores. They dominated time of possession and cruised on us most of the game.
-
Yeah at this point, on Tuesday, I'd be over this, minus routing against this guy and his team forever of course. They keep throwing gas on the fire trying to save face for their golden boy. He gets so much benefit of the doubt for an act that is on VIDEO.

KK Short Is The Carolina Panthers Defensive MVP
Zaximus replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wouldn't give Star a huge contract yet, he's had those nagging foot injuries that worry me for a big. -
KK Short Is The Carolina Panthers Defensive MVP
Zaximus replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think this is a good problem to have, discussing who on your team is the defensive MVP lol. It could go either way depending on how you look at it. -
KK Short Is The Carolina Panthers Defensive MVP
Zaximus replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can't agree. Short has sort of been quiet at times but Norman has to keep it up every game. I'm not saying Short isn't doing work. I think it's the other way around, I think Norman and the improved secondary is helping out our pash rush this year. While we won without Luke, it was in a different way. The Saints with McCown killed us in the middle with short passes that Luke doesn't let happen often, and Luke's run defense was noticeable. It's almost a 3-way tie. -
I really wish there was a way for Cam to read this thread and realize the fans are behind him. Is wearing a jersey and stupid cheesehead crap not enough? They can even have hand-held signs. Whatever, this is great.
