This has been an interesting thread. I think clearly he refs caused us to lose the game. It is irrelevant how bad we played previous because it doesn't negate that fact. We were winning, they gave two penalties that let the Browns get into position to win. But watching folks in complete denial that refs did this is even more interesting. I understand though, people do NOT want to admit one of their favorite past-times may not be as pure as they think (most pro sports aren't and there has even been evidence). This is what the NFL banks on which is too big to fail. The officiating gets worse every year and no changes happen. Rules get more muddied. But folks still defend the calls. I was in denial for a bit too until the Denver Super Bowl and that is all the evidence I needed. It's still fun to watch, but I watch it in a different way than before.

We played bad for half the game or more. This is something everyone agrees on. That isn't debatable. However, we came back and made it a game and IMO it's not really debatable that the refs did effect the outcome of this game. They pretty much lost it for us. The roughing the passer call and the no-call on the grounding is huge. The field goal was already a massive kick and those two penalties probably make it very unlikely they win. Those that say the refs didn't do these things are harboring some serious Stockholm syndrome for the NFL. I think this is why refs continue to be terrible and nothing happens. If we let two serious outrageous calls just slide nothing will change. Regardless of if the bad calls were on purpose or not, they lost us this game. It doesn't matter if we played bad, we came back and should have won it. It's just kind of insane to make excuses for the poor officiating. More and more we are seeing officiating dictating outcomes of games and it's really messing up the quality of the game. The wrestling comparisons are pretty on point at times except you know about it there.

I find myself pulling back since shady refs can just pull the rug out from under your team whenever they want. I just watch it the same way I watched wrestling as a child for the most part. After our Denver Super Bowl it was pretty obvious how things are in the NFL. I think most people are trying to win and that is what makes it more annoying that one head ref can just push a game the way they want.

It's also pretty silly though to swipe away the bad calls that happen all the time. But copium I get it.

Yeah people have to realize they couldn't really adapt the book content. So there will be some new characters, some changes, etc. I thought it was really good.
