David Newton gives the nod to Stephen Hill, mentions Corey Brown.
heelinfine replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Great point. Why roes it have to be either or. It could just as easily be both. -
I to appreciate your hard work, and the unique insight and perspective you bring to Huddle. In your opinion, why is Cams health in contrast to last season not a bigger story from the national sports writers when analyzing the Panthers 2015 prospect of success?

I like the comment Hill made about him taking one step back so he could hopefully take ten steps forward. I like his attitude. -
Stephen Hill and Corey Brown Impress at OTAs
heelinfine replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Is it September yet? Hell, I'd settle for it being July and TC. This poo is going to be fun on so many different levels. I gotta feeling that the NFL has no idea what's getting ready to hit them.- 53 replies

We could have WRs that could run through, run past, or jump over any DB in the league. Sweet!!!!!- 53 replies

How long before "debbie downer" huddler pipes in to tell us how much we are overreacting to all this hype, and that Brown and Hill are not even going to make the roster?- 53 replies

Can you imagine the the impact on this team if Brown improves, and Hill finally comes into his own. No wonder Cam seems to be so enthusiastic. If all this comes to fruition and KB keeps his production on an upward trajectory, and Funchess has a Benjiman type rookie season. The sky will be the limit for this offense. IS IT SEPTEMBER YET?- 53 replies

Two receivers really stepped up today.

What's wrong with fans getting excited about getting good reports on Hills performance in OTAs, or any other player for that matter? -
That Other Panther Receiver....Jarrett Boykin
heelinfine replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
When he was giving ample playing time he did produce. Last year he was the odd man out somebody had to be with the talent GB had at WR. I'd like to see how he handle his chances here before writing him off. -

Haven't you heard. A lot of the awesome scouts on the Huddle, have already proclaimed Boykin will be a bust. -

Goodys responsed to this post and somehow was lost during after Igo cancelled the upgrade. To paraphrase his argument he believes that Funchess pro day was not accurate because his pro day 40 time was clocked by stop watch, as opposed to laser timing at combine. I'm not sure if that's accurate or not, I think I read where some colleges use automated laser timers, I'm not sure about Michigan. In my opinion it is irrelevant. If Devin was timed by stop watch, there were a selected number of officials timing him, and the use the average to post his official 40 time. IMO 40 times are 40 times are a vastly overrated tool used to measure the potential ability of a wide receiver. I think cutting ability, route running, and vision are far more important traits for WRs to possess. I mean how many times is a receiver asked to run straight line for 40 yards, with no cuts or variations in the route? -
lol. Showing your age? I thought he'd never get to plate. One of my sports memories.

So it's your opinion that Brown is better than Boykin, and that Boykin has no chance to out perforn Brown in TC? I'm not saying what will happen either way, I just don't Feel that the outcome is as obvious as you seem to believe. -

I don't have a favorite between the two, I hope the both ball out this season. I was just pointing out your "3 rec 23 yds" comment about Boykin was disingenuous cherry picking. -

You do realize he said that Boykin has proven more in the NFL? That encompasses more than last seasons stats. -
From what im reading, it's a very small minority of huddlers "down playing" OBJ.

I happen to like Brown, but I don't think it's such a stretch that Boykin could win a spot over Philly. -

I noticed that. We need to remember that in the majority of the national medias mind the Panthers are a non topic, unless they have something negative to cover, and then it's Panthers coverage is 24/7. You can bet if Collins happens to choose Carolina there would be more than a fair share of the NFL pundits expounding on what a bad choice he made.
