In other news.................former Panther's OC Joe Brady inks a one game deal signing with the Falcons during week 14 of the NFL regular season schedule. It is rumored he will be functioning in the role of "Special OC consultant" to the Falcons Defensive coaching staff when they face the Panthers. Both the Bills and the Bucs have shown similar interest in Joe Brady performing in that one game capacity with their Defensive coaching staff during weeks 15 and 16 respectively. When finding out the recent news Rhule was over heard by an undisclosed source in the Panthers front office scampering around to various front office personnel asking......."He signed a non compete didn't he?............tell me we don't have some non complete document he signed....it just can't be!!!......its got to be around here somewhere!" Tepper was unavailable for comment.....word is he's busy in Rock Hill overseeing the Panthers multimillion dollar practice facility installation of tampon dispensers for Offensive linemen's section of the locker room.

You Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone
PghPanther replied to Catsfan69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Born in 54' In Pgh, Pa and seeing the Steelers win 4 SBs in 6 years we knew what we were seeing and didn't take it for granted............but that is rarified air for most sports fans to experience. I really haven't been much of a fan of either the Steelers or any other NFL team after Art Rooney Sr. died.....Coach Knoll retired (and has since passed) and all those great players have left the game and some like my hero Mike Webster suffered so much in later years. I do hope some of you will get to experience such greatness sometime in your lives with the teams you root for........ I've had a lifetime of it already and am content to just watch others for now......... My significant other was a Chicago Cubs fan her whole life and so was her family.............for almost 3 generations they had nothing to celebrate until the World Series win at the turn of the century. Sports should be a release from the routine of life in a way that enrichens our experience as humans..........however, it shouldn't become such a way of life that it complicates rather than alleviates the frustrations we all have from time to time in our lives. Embrace greatness..........its rare and comes sometimes once in a generation if you are fortunate...... I keep seeing that image of Jack Delhomme sitting on the bench at the end of the SB just after the Panthers lost...looking over at the Patriots celebrating knowing how close he came but will have to leave the field, head to the locker room and wonder what could have been and may never be again................ -
Unfortunately, I don’t think that is Rhule’s strength By the looks of things, I'd say Rhule's strength involves something to do with "Little Debbie" grocery shelf products.

My interest in this team is at an all time low
PghPanther replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've looked over all the bottom fish in the NFL and while the Panthers may not be the worst team in the NFL they probably have the worst outlook of any team over the next 5 years.... ....from ownership to coaching to front office/scouting and player personnel they seem to have insurmountable problems in the near term to 5 years out at least..... -
Matt Rhule: "We have to double down on our approach"
PghPanther replied to ENCPantherfan2's topic in Carolina Panthers
hmm....."double down" usually means to expose your risk twice of what it previously was just to get back to where you were previously at....... Not a wise term to use by a used car sal........I mean a HC in the NFL with a team like the Panthers at this time. Sounds to me like more injuries will be on the way............. -
We are seeing the end of Cam's career
PghPanther replied to Hayden Panettiere's topic in Carolina Panthers
He went from "I'm BAAACCCKKK...........to I"M BENCCCHED" in two weeks. -
The replay showed a horrible angle his ankle was twisted in..........and in a big pile of bodies in the trenches trying to gut out a short yardage gain. I said it before........CMC is a Steve Smith ........not a Steven Davis. Now watch what happens in the backfield to Cam without any dump passing or handoff to CMC around. Its going to get ugly.......Cam might not even make it the rest of the year at this rate.

Cam Newton should be done as a starting QB in this league
PghPanther replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
They won..................but if they lost? -
Cam is a powerful personality and he has the ability to wield that power in different ways. A powerful personality leads by example and inspires.........they don't go overboard showboating when successful and then towel head themselves pouting on the sidelines or in sulking in post game interviews when they fail........ Immature personalities do that.........and on a team sport they don't inspire......they cause division because the draw attention to themselves instead of focusing on the goal of the team.........

How does a team just keep getting worse and worse?
PghPanther replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Simple answer.............. 1) Take a bad O line........ 2) Add injuries to that line..... 3) Replace with backups 2nd and 3rd stringers.......and/or practice squad players within that line...... and bingo............you go from bad to worse............. God playing QB on this team couldn't win with this oline...... Any questions? -
If Newton wasn't 6'5" and fast when he came in the league he would have never been an NFL QB starter..... As a pocket passer and student of the game he sucks...............and you are seeing that now as a result of his running threat being past him. NE didn't waste time with him and cut him.......... I said the day he came into this league he'd be Donovan McNabb 2.0.............

Official Panthers at Dolphins Playoff Push GameDay thread
PghPanther replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
This team never developed an offensive line in the last 5 years...... There is a reason why Cam was cut from NE...........how's NE doing now with that rookie? So what was "I'm back" doing today?.........what was he today 5 for 20?.........how many yards rushing does the old man have in run designed plays?.........QB rating?? Along with that vaulted quick running college defense they have which ends up getting punched in the mouth every time they face an NFL caliber line and power running back. ..........and CMC can't stay healthy because they run him too often and too much between the tackles...... .....and the coaching staff reminds me of an old Firesign Theater comedy record from the 60s............the title of the album? "Everything you know is wrong!" Enjoy the rest of the year.............and I don't own a truck. -

Says the fan rooting for the Panthers against Miami today?? enjoy the game....... -
NFL seems like its a crap shoot these days as to who wins.......you don't know who is going to have the hot hand in any game week in and week out.............. NFL likes it..................the bookies love it.........but it makes for nervous fans. Best not take this stuff too seriously. and don't take the Fins for granted................. Panthers lose and it only helps get rid of the drift wood coaching sooner than later. Superman has a kryptonite online anyway. This game is flip a coin deal for the win............I see it 60% in favor of the Dolphins but that could change depending who decides to play today.

Official Panthers at Dolphins Playoff Push GameDay thread
PghPanther replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Last week the entire team was riding the high of Cam's return. LOL........right into the loss column.............I'd hate to see how they do if they lose that "high" Cam inspired them too......... BTW.........CMC didn't look too happy at the Cam the hog the spotlight show last week. Last I remember when Steve Smith #89 played with Cam there wasn't enough room in the locker room for two big egos and one of them had to go............. Cam is a man child that needs to grow up..... off with the helmet and I'm back!!!...........be careful it doesn't bit you in the ass. I'm calling it like I see it..............when Cam was asked as a rookie what will be your goal in the NFL...........he expressed, "to be known as a legendary entertainment icon........." ......I didn't see anything there about contributing to the team with SB rings or even a HOF career. Have fun rooting for your playoff run............ -
Cam had the ability at one time to carry the team with his running skills................and some down field passing and he did this when the Panthers had a better offensive line than today. His running skills of his youth and the willingness to take the abuse of hits he took over that time are in the past or else he will end up IR and retired again...... So what you have is a Cam who will need to be a more precise pocket passer, read defenses and hit check down point along with being an overall game manager........none of which he built his reputation on or was known for.... It is far too early to make a call on that for now.........but it will remain to be seen if he does that. What I saw out of the Wash game is that he still has some ability but his cross route passing timing is off (will that come in time or is it just an area that was never his primary focus/skill set) and he will go down rather than take a hit more often and much sooner than in the past. Right now he gives the Panthers their best option in winning a game but that isn't saying much not because of Cam himself as much as the whole team and coaching staff isn't playoff caliber........ I honestly believe a Brady or Rogers behind center on this team doesn't do much winning at this point.......in fact both might end up on IR this year if they played behind this oline. But getting back to the Cam deal................Try a thought experiment here.......imagine if last week Cam played for Wash and Taylor played for the Panthers..............who wins then? It could be a bit unnerving to think that switch would have changed who won if you are a Panthers fan........ I say have fun watching Cam play but if nothing happens the rest of this season or beyond if Cam is around next year don't be surprised.........In my opinion, the only way this team gets anywhere is if they develop a top oline and get a short yardage power running back to compliment the QB effort........our line sucks right now and CMC is not your answer........he'll only end up on IR again if you play him up to middle too much. CMC is closer to a Steve Smith type of player than a Jerome Bettis and needs to be used that way.

5 major factors blame for loss. Cat Crave
PghPanther replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'll preach it from day one that there are three problems..... 1) No priority to building a strong foundation in the offensive line....... 2) Creating a small fast and scheming defense that is exposed to getting punched in the mouth by an NFL caliber power running game...... 3) The coaching staff thinking the NFL can learn from the way we do things in college........ That's it.....the recipe for mediocracy in the NFL right there............and the Panthers are leading the way. Cam?.........he was a duel threat interesting QB in his day but became injured before he ever developed into a good pocket passing QB...as a result right now he's a outstanding back up QB but time will tell if he still has it in him to be a starter in the NFL anymore. But based on the above 3 problems I've stated he's not going to be able to find that out playing with the Panthers...........he makes for good show, pr and copy having him here for a while and he does give the Panthers the best chance to win but that's not saying much because of the ongoing pee wee league coaching and overall team development. -
trade QBs on the field of play today and the Panthers win................oh wait they used to have that QB.....
