  1. Clowney and Akiem Hicks. Fix the run defense by adding those two players. Get rid of Robby Anderson. Idc who takes him or how much you get. Just get rid of him.
  2. I think they have a few games. But if he balls out in practice and is noticeably better than Darnold right out of the gate then he’s gonna start by game 2. Could definitely be a Russell Wilson situation tho. He started 16 games right after they brought in Flynn in FA.
  3. If your team is starting multiple rookies (after the first round) at positions other than ST then your team is gonna suck. We got a starting LT, possible starting outside linebacker…some good special teamsters and Corral. If the Giants are starting more than Thibodeaux and Neal at positions of significant reps….they’re not gonna be good? Maybe they start the OG they drafted. But probably not. The LBs and corner they drafted are special team. They got quantity. I’m not sure their quality is that much better.
  4. That’s a huge difference. Darnold has horrific footwork bc he’s not very mobile. He gets nervous and isn’t good at throwing on the run. Corral stays confident and is really good at throwing on the run so he’s going to be more prone to keep his footwork sound after some good coaching.
  5. Huh? We could have 4 legit starters? Icky, Smith, Henderson, Corral. If you want to put the make or break on Corral then fine…but if he’s even serviceable in year 1 then this team is competing based on defense and running game alone. The OL has a chance to dominate. I would rather be in our situation than the Giants…and the Giants graded as an “A.”
  6. They graded the Corral pick as an “A.” So I guess they felt like the late round was an F. Bc Icky surely wasn’t less than an A as BPA, and top position of need.
  7. Part of the issue is that Corral LOOKS smaller compared to his competition bc college athletes are freaks these days…especially in the SEC. Brees played his entire career at 210. Corral has the frame to put on another 10-12lbs in his lower body and core. He’s going to fill out and his playing weight will be 210-212 which is fine. Just gonna take some time.
  8. If he’s even remotely close to Darnold then he’s starting. He’s more of a gamer than Darnold so his best stuff is going to be on the fly during games. However…best case scenario would be that Darnold piddles along (Alex Smith style) and rides the running game and D to a good record and top of the division. Corral shows his promise around mid season and replaces Darnold to elevate the offense.
  9. Do we know for sure he’s wrong about that? They’re both 1-year in. The caution I have for these rankings is that most of the QBs on this list suck or haven’t proven they’re good yet. I think it’s a plus that he was right about the Jackson/Allen class. If Wilson balls out this year then it’ll be another feather. But…there’s a chance this is just a really bad QB class and all of these guys end up being really bad. But I agree that Corral has the most tools + experience combo to be the best of the bunch.
  10. If corral had been less risky as an off field prospect and didn’t suffer an injury in the bowl game he would have been a day 1 pick.
  11. Corral is the second most physically gifted QB in this draft and maybe the most upside. This is a home run pick.
  12. Rhule is being reshaped. He’s never worked for someone like Tepper before. Tepper isn’t going to fire him and eat $30mil. He’s going to make Rhule toil, figure it out, and win. Or Fail. This is the humbling process. But Tepper isn’t going to fire Rhule and let him off. He was sold a vision. He expects that vision to be fulfilled or for Rhule to forfeit the remaining money and get another job.
  13. Untrue. Trading into the 2nd and giving up a 1st is something that only Hurney does.
  14. Idk…I think it depends on who’s available and where and the price. If Willis, Ridder, Howell all come off the board in the first 7-8 picks of the 2nd round idk if it’s feasible to get back in. I wouldn’t trade a young, starting defender for that value unless I KNEW the QB was a significant upgrade.
  15. Yeah. By comparison RA is now on a pretty friendly deal if he can perform at 2020 level. Could possibly blame the lack of productivity on Darnold. RA has value and pair him with a pick and I bet we could get back into the 2nd round. Also as an aside….Fitterer is a genius simply for anticipating market and getting the DJ deal done. Absolutely genius move.
  16. Yeah at this point you have to bet on him to be the run stopper. If you trade him your line is just asking to be run on 40x per game.
  17. A young, cheap, talented defender for a 2nd round pick? Doubtful.
  18. How do you know a guy like Penning or maybe Cross won’t be there? Either of those guys could very easily be available at 13. People are acting like picking in the top 6 is the only way to get a starting LT.
  19. Pickett is going to end up being a poor man’s Ryan Tannehill. If you put him in an organization like the Steelers he will do pretty well. If you put him with us it’ll be a disaster. We need a true alpha with elite traits. Not a plug in guy.
  20. Yep. I just don’t see the major difference between Pickett and Darnold. What does he bring that Darnold doesn’t? You put Darnold on that Pitt team and that schedule and his results are probably really similar..
  21. Minny. I think they’re closer to “win now” mode than a lot of other teams with deciding to keep Cousins. Could get a future 1st out of that deal if we play it right. Next years QB draft is sick. We need those picks.
  22. People need to keep in mind there are some really good tackles on garbage teams that don’t want to pay them big $$ in the coming years. Think…Redskins/Trent Williams. - 5th and a 3rd for the best tackle in the league bc he was gonna get 100 mil. Wouldn’t be shocked in the least if Tunsil gets moved this off-season.
  23. We’re moving back. Get used to it. They like a Lindenberg+Christensen combo or a Penning + Christensen combo. It gets them in position to take another QB and gets them the final piece to the OL whether at C, G, or OT.
  24. If the engineer of the Roman aqueduct continued to flood the city and poison the people do you think the emperor would keep the engineer or try to find a replacement who could lead the offense?
  25. This is counter cultural for typical management. When dudes as smart as Tepper do things that are patient and counter cultural….it usually pays off.
