  1. The same thing everyone else is doing. Signing short term deals for replaceable players and extending the guys who aren’t. The Saints manipulated their cap by almost $100mil and could have signed the most expensive QB in the league.
  2. Nobody is trading up with the Lions. Smokescreen…But it does pretty much confirm to me that they don’t want Willis. Which sucks.
  3. The top 12-13 players in this draft are too legit for any QB to go in the top 10…and there are future all pros that are going to make a team trade up. Philly is coming up imo. They’re gonna trade two of their three picks to get their hands on an elite WR or edge rusher. I know they have Smith and had drafted a lot of receivers but they’re gonna see Wilson lined up next to Smith as a game changing draft pick. Or..if one of the pass rushers starts to drop.
  4. I really like Corral and would like him on our team. But part of me feels like Tepper is fed up. He gave Rhule Bridgewater and results sucked. He gave Rhule Darnold….even worse. My gut feeling is that Tepper told Fitt: “If we take another QB and don’t get other premier players…and that Qb sucks then it’s both your asses.” The good news is I think both Rhule and Fitt are making FOR SURE that if there is a QB other than SD this year then it’s one of two scenarios: 1. A veteran they KNOW is an upgrade - Carr (if his contract falls through) or Murray at this point. This is why they aren’t interested in Baker. 2. A Rookie QB who comes in WITH a BPA option as either a second 1st round pick or a high 2nd round pick. Idt there is ANY WAY in hell that Fitterer is hitching his wagon to one of these rookies as his only 1st round pick. No way does that happen. It’s professional suicide (with this organization). If the rookie sucks then Tepper is going to be so pissed he’ll fire Rhule and Tepper for risking it all again with a sole pick of a QB. So….only way the rookie happens imo is if we trade down.
  5. Philly, KC would be two really obvious trade up candidates if elite rushers start to fall. KC was piss poor in getting after the QB this year. Bottom of thr league in sacks. If Walker or Thibodeux or (less likely) Aiden Hutchinson fall to 6 then I could see either of those teams trying to make a jump. Philly wants to win while Hurts is on a rookie deal. Time is running out for a team that already has a lot of pieces and a ton of draft capital.
  6. Yeah I think it’s Ekwonu, Neal or trade back. Either way you should solve the left side of the line for the next 7-8 years.
  7. Hard to be accurate if you’re getting strip sacked. He had a fumble every other game of his career. 52 games. 26 fumbles.
  8. What did you think was going to happen? Tepper got approved over the other guys bc he was the one the least likely to be a money suck on the league. Goodell wanted the rich guy. That doesn’t mean the other owners wanted him. Hes literally twice to three times as rich as the next guy and replaced an owner who: A. Wasn’t in that elite rich class B. Was a massive wrecking ball to anyone who challenged the owners. Tepper basically came in and stuck his finger in every other owners eye by being richer than them, signing guys like Eric Reid, giving a college coach a MASSIVE deal. No telling what he’s been doing behind the scenes to try and throw his weight around. So….Nobody was going to welcome the outsider whale with open arms. I wouldn’t be shocked in the least if there were powers at work whispering in Deshaun’s ear not to come here and pushing him toward the hapless Haslems.
  9. Man that is so so bad for Willis considering his competition. I would make an adjustment for Corral and probably put him in the first tier just bc the competition he faced was so much better than Pickett. I mean he basically played one elite defense and 3-4 good-ish defenses. Makes you wonder where Strong would be if he wasn’t perpetually injured. Just can’t be a statue in the NFL and be any good as a young player.
  10. I’d love this scenario. Basically get 20, 53, 2023 1st. It’d be a dream scenario and the Steelers under Tomlin haven’t been shy about big swings for players they want (Minkah Fitz). If Fitt was able to move down to 20 and stockpile another 1st for next year. He could potentially find his QB and have a 2 firsts next year to keep building. Or…finds the OL that we need and swings at a QB next year.
  11. The underestimating of Corral bc he had to play against SEC competition and actually played in his bowl game is astounding to me. Kenny Pickett played against mostly hot garbage all year and then sat out the one game he would have been exposed… Corral is going to be the biggest gamer in this class. He is going to get out with the biggest chip and be a force.
  12. Hopefully we don’t want anyone in particular.
  13. Trade back would be best case scenario. Just don’t take them at #6
  14. I’m thinking that this is their plan unless some kind of unforeseen event happens like Carr or Murray actually being offered in a trade by their organizations. Rhule is getting paid bank so I think he’s pie in the sky right now and is willing to take another season with Darnold…understanding that if he succeeds then he’s proved the doubters wrong. If he fails then, well….”I wanted to take Pickett but they forced me to keep Darnold.” Fitterer at this point is doing what he should do….Evaluating potential veteran trades but not mortgaging the future. Also not going to let Rhule destroy his franchise by over drafting a QB. If they get one by trading back then I think he pulls the trigger. Otherwise I think he’s set on drafting BPA and building. Tepper - Honestly he seems to have finally gotten out of his own way. It seems like he told Fitterer that fixing the team is on him. He likely told Rhule that he can have the coaching changes he wants and the types of players he wants but no deal is happening without Fitterer and Morgan saying it’s a good personnel move. Which…..includes the draft.
  15. I love Jeremy Chinn but to me bringing a player in like Edmunds is as much insurance as anything. If we get closer to the draft and an elite QB becomes available and Chinn is a piece of the trade you have to have a backup for safety. Edmunds, Burris, and Woods would be that backup plan.
  16. Just to add to this…the other thing I want to throw out there is that there are a heck of a lot of people talking about Malik Willis and Josh Allen as similar players. Sam Howell is going to surprise with his arm strength. I’m a big NCSU fan but Howell has a big arm and I’m here to say that nobody in college football has reminded me as much of Russell Wilson as 2020 Sam Howell. 3500 yards, 68% comp, mobile, and throws the best deep ball in the class. If I’m Fitterer I am not sleeping on him. He may remind a lot of people of Baker. But if his mental approach is elite he is much more RW than Baker to me.
  17. I would be completely fine with that plan if we had a QB. If Darnold had worked out and we’re still trying to fill LT the yeah…sit tight, take the best tackle and keep moving. But we have a legit hole at QB and doing nothing to try and solve that glaring hole with a player like Howell, Corral, Ridder is BS. I firmly believe that Howell or Corral would be the best QB on the roster come training camp and both seem to be trending mid-late first round or maybe second round. You have to do something to try and get another pick in that range while still solving your OL problem.
  18. This could be a solid plan for sure. If they think that BC is the future at LT then trading back for Linderbaum is a good plan.
  19. Corral? He has two years of 71% and 68%. Pickett never reached either of those statistics. Corral is the better QB.
  20. Why? No 2nd or 3rd this year…we’re gonna take one elite player and move on?
