  1. I would say that after trading for Darnold, Chase doesn’t just sit as a BPA. You could argue he’s a need player as well. We have two proven pass catchers (other than our running back). If one of them goes down this offense becomes very very weak.
  2. Horn started this process as a mid 2nd round pick. All of a sudden he’s #8? He didn’t blow people away at his pro day. His tape isn’t lockdown. I see him as a late 1st at best.. If Slater, Pitts, and Sewell are all gone then that means either Chase or Fields are on the board. I’m not passing on either of them to pick Horn at 8.
  3. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/sam-darnold-rumors-49ers-offered-first-rounder-to-jets-prior-to-trade-with-panthers-per-report/?fbclid=IwAR2itVFVVzC0S9bY34EMJ6w8sw8EMkgpLvYzLZjlr-jxgy39d7ZrTZGxmf4 Yep. This is my takeaway as well. Shanny is considered a QB guru who’s in win-now mode and he considered Darnold worthy of giving up his 12th overall... Give him weapons and he’s going to be a steal. Sewell, Pitts, or Chase with Darnold is going to make this a top 5 offense.
  4. I heard the quotes. But his results on the court after saying that is that he’s probably going to win rookie of the year. So what more do you want from the guy in year 1?
  5. Anthony Edwards is killing it what are you talking about?
  6. Ok but the projection for Slater is that he’s small. He’s 6’3” with short arms. Not exactly franchise LT build. So if there’s another player there who is more elite....why reach for a guy who is actually closer Leatherwood than Sewell. That’s all I’m saying.
  7. I just want to put this out there before we RUSH to get a tackle not named Sewell. There is an OT from Alabama who is 6’6” with 34in wingspan who won the Outland trophy......projected in the second round.
  8. He’s reportedly our highest rated player not named Trevor Lawrence......gonna say we value right end.
  9. If Sewell is there I don’t think you can pass on him...it would also mean Pitts and Chase are likely gone. Slater? Not so Sure...it’d be hard to pass on Chase or Pitts for Slater imo. You could draft Alex Leatherwood outside the top 10 and maybe end up with a better player. Sewell imo is the tackle in the top 10...I’m not sold on anyone else.
  10. I’ll include my comps too: 1. Lawrence (All Pro) - Rodgers. I think TL size is taking away from the comps bc he’s so big. But he’s Rodgers. Cannon arm, extends plays, can run, deadly accurate. I don’t get the Wilson Rodgers comps. 2. Sewell (All Pro) - Orlando Pace. Monster, super athlete who probably just as easy could be an Olympian. 3. Chase (All Pro) - Bigger Steve Smith (CAR Steve...not NYG) 4. Pitts (if he stays healthy which is major question at his size imo he moves ahead of Chase) - All Pro - Taller Julio Jones 5. Fields - Franchise QB top 10 - Deshaun Watson 6. Wilson - Franchise QB top 12 - Jake Plummer 7. Lance - Franchise QB top 15 - Cam Newton meets Josh Allen (Allen more accurate than Cam ever was). Cam much more athletic. 8. Parsons - All Pro - Von Miller - with Keuchly coverage ability. I don’t necessarily think Fields, Lance, Wilson will be better at their position than Waddle. But....I think a top 12-15 QB for 10 years is more valuable than a pro bowl receiver. I think in the right scheme where they figure out how to maximize his strengths Parsons is the best linebacker to come out since Keuchly....hard to say he’s not too 10 with that trait. He’s absolutely the best defender in the class imo.
  11. Falcons - Lance Bengals - Sewell Phins - Pitts (he may be rated higher - FWIW Kiper has them moving up for him) Lions - Slater, Parsons
  12. LT is a really important position for offenses that have long developing route trees. I would argue WR is more important in all other scenarios. Especially with a RB like cmc. How do you game plan for Moore, Anderson, CMC, and Chase...I mean if Dan Arnold is even semi-capable in the red zone that is unquestionably the best unit in the league. I would expect the OL we have with Moton, Erving, Eiflen etc could block enough to get the ball to those guys. I don’t expect Chase to be there unless the Phins value Pitts over Chase and the Bengals value Sewell over Chase. Even then...he’d have to get past the Lions? Idk if I see that happening with them just losing Golladay.
  13. I would be too if we didn’t have glaring holes at tackle. He’s a machine and is the second coming of Wagner/Keuchly. As long as he stays healthy he’s going to be a top 5 linebacker in the league for a decade.
  14. Ben Allbright disagrees and has Parsons at 7.
  15. Both WR are up for contracts and the best prospect in 10 years is in this draft. I doubt he makes it to 8 but if he’s there I can’t see us passing...
  16. We aren’t trading out. We will likely have a chance at a top 4 player overall in the draft. Most analysts top 6 is: Lawrence Pitts Sewell Chase Wilson Parsons I actually have a really hard time believing we aren’t going to see a defender in the top 7. I could easily see the Lions or Falcons taking Parsons. In any event...I think it’s highly likely that one of Sewell, Chase, or Pitts falls to 8th overall. If any of those players look like they’ll be there you take them. You don’t trade out.
  17. I really like Fields. I’m just not convinced that his career trajectory is going to be ALOT different from Kellen Mond. Basically imo the only way it is a lot different is if he becomes Deshaun 2.0 and is a MVP candidate in a really good system. Mond imo could just as easily be a top 15 QB in the right system....and he’s not gonna go in the top 10. Contrast that with the #2 TE or #3 OT behind Pitts and Sewell/Slater. I’m not sure that’s the case. Those three guys imo are much more sure-thing top tier players than Fields is compared to Mond. If that’s makes sense.
  18. Yeah I’ve thought about that too. I assume we keep DJ but even if we plan on keeping him...without Samuel if DJ gets hurt we get pretty thin as far as receiving options. But there is just such a huge talent gap imo between the top OTs and 2nd round compared to the top WRs and guys found on day 2.
  19. Sewell. I can’t count the times since Gross retired that I’ve said “we need to address the line.” I really like the QBs. But I also think that Mond or even Jamie Newman could have very good careers and probably don’t cost a top 10 pick. Apart from Lawrence I don’t see any of them as sure things. Especially without addressing obvious holes. So my ideal draft would be: 1st - Sewell 2nd - Mond 3rd - Grant
  20. Yep. If Darnold pans out and can run the Brady offense and we stay healthy...I like our chances in the South. Add a possible pro bowl LT for the next 10 years and it elevates the likelihood that Darnold pans out.
  21. Reminds me of a more athletic Phillip Rivers. Makes some really good plays. Makes some really dumb plays. Has an above average arm... I will take that all day long and see if building a team around him can elevate him.
  22. Maybe the teams in front of us are going to get their guy. If QBs fly off the board 1-3 (which appears they will)...Going to be hard to pass on guys who are the best players in the draft. Chase, Pitts, Sewell to the Falcons, Bengals, Dolphins basically leaves the Lions as the trade out candidate. They really going to pass on Waddle and Slater when OT and WR are their two biggest needs and they just traded for a QB who they want to win now? If the Panthers are in the same situation the only way I’d want them to trade out at #8 is if they’re getting 1st round picks in 2021 and 2022. Otherwise take Waddle or Slater as BPA.
  23. Denver has basically three realistic choices (for a team who thinks they’re a Qb away): 1 - Trade up (Falcons or Panthers) - Falcons are going to be way more expensive. I also don’t think they’re taking a QB with Ryan still able to produce. They’re going to go after more weapons bc they think they’re win now mode. 2 - Draft a QB in the second round or late first round. Maybe they trade back. 3 - Trade for Jimmy G (49ers saying they want a 1st which probably means they want at least multiple 2nd round picks. The Broncos are in a bad spot...I thinkn they’d do do what it takes to get a falling QB..including giving up a 1st next year.
  24. I was thinking more along the lines of pitting DEN and a team like WAS (Hurney) against each other...and getting a lot more than a 2nd.
