On the field athleticism should be measured with his competition in mind. Corral was standing in the pocket delivering dimes against future pros. Willis was doing it against future JAGs. The only thing willis has going for him imo is his arm talent and Corral will show he has plenty of that as well. Personally, I’m not sure any of them belong in the top 15. BUT…if we’re talking about who has the tools to be the best of the bunch them quickest…it’s Corral. I think Pickett has peaked. I think Willis hasn’t played against enough quality and his intangibles aren’t eye popping enough to convince me (ala Josh Allen).

I think Corral is going to be every bit of “Zach Wilsonesque” at this pro day. He’s going to be throwing side arm, 1-hop 50 yard dimes, rolling to his left and hitting receivers in stride. Willis has a big arm. But so does Corral and Willis looked almost heavy out there moving around. If Corral’s leg is healthy he’s going to look smooth moving around. I think for US (McAdoo) he is going to jump Pickett and Willis. He’s as pro-ready as Pickett and he’s just as good of an athlete as Willis.
-
Willis isn’t Mahomes. Willis is a shorter Trey Lance. Which….we don’t even know what Trey Lance is at this point.
-
For whatever reason I think after his pro day Corral is going to be #1. Pickett #2 bc of being more pro ready. Willis #3.
-
If he goes to the Bucs you better be getting a heck of a lot as far as draft compensation.
-
There’s just no way with the physical freaks on the DL and OL that we take one of these QBs. I just don’t buy it.
-
If you sign Armstead then LT is set. That leaves QB. You really want to put all our eggs in the Kenny Pickett basket? These QBs are probably 3rd-4th round picks in most drafts. After the draft starts, shakes out….the QBs aren’t going in the top 10. None have shown elite intangibles. Trading for a vet and unloading Darnold, drafting BPA is looking like what Fitt wants to do. Which is smart. The QBs aren’t special. Live to see another day.

Mayfield has for sure been a better QB than Darnold. If the deal is them taking Darnold and us taking Mayfield (bc they have no leverage) I would definitely take that deal. Darnold holds zero value for us anymore. Mayfield is the same for them. The contracts are basically the same. I sure as heck don’t want to watch the Darnold/Cam carousel this year…and I’m not sold on the rookies. Which, by the way if we take a QB in the draft it could set us back years if they sucks.
-
I can see why they’d ask for that. But teams at the end of the 1st have QBs and teams at the top aren’t giving up a top 12 pick for him. I actually think he could be good with our cast around him. Frees us up to take an OT with #6. I wouldn’t hate it.

Corral imo is the has the most upside. Kinda worried this is gonna end up being a “Tua/Herbert” situation where Tua got picked bc of production but Herbert had more upside.
-
Unless they made a deal with the devil and Rhule gets his QB. But if he sucks he’s out.
-
We think Pickett is that much better than Howell, Willis? That we now have to trade UP for him????
-
Bc in bad weather they don’t compensate and there are still struggles
-
I can’t root for a gloved quarterback. I need to see that he can throw without stick ’em on his hands
-
If he stays healthy he will be the best corner in the NFC along with Lattimore. As far as pure intangibles he’s off the charts. Guys like Diggs and Slay aren’t close (in part bc of Slay’s age). Ramsey is fantastic but I think a lot of his greatness is in the lore that follows him. Horn looks like a strong safety out there but is playing corner.
-
I’d put my odds at 60/40 that CMC ends up with the Bills or Chiefs next year for their 1st round pick. Is he an injury risk? Sure. But he’s also immediately the best player on the field if he’s healthy and I think both of those franchises know that.
-
The Johnny Hekker signing was actually huge. Our punting has been bad recently and if you combine that with our offensive inefficiency it’s a miracle our defense has been as good as it has. I think this was an off-season that 100% showed were committed to time of possession, running then ball, and defense. I think the next moves that follow this line of thinking is trying to get a 1st round pick for CMC, drafting an OT in the top 10, and taking a rookie QB in the 20s (maybe with the Bills pick).
-
If we solve the OT problem then I wouldn’t mind it. He looks like Chase out there with his YAC ability. We’re at least a year away so might as well give Darnold/Cam all the weapons possible and go after a QB next year. Who knows…with elite weapons and a full off-season maybe Cam can actually do something.

[Sheena Quick] Panthers interested in Eric Fisher

Like we did last year? -
If Thibodeaux or Hutchinson fall from the top 3 we’re going to have a major opportunity to trade down and solve a couple big problems. I think unless BC really is the LT answer we would have to sign Armstead or Brown to shore up the LT spot. But I think the QBs are going to free fall in this draft. Everyone is seeing through the Pickett talk. You just can’t get past his potential physical limitations. In a draft with a true top 2-3 (Tua, Herbert, Burrow) then Pickett isn’t even being talked about. Same with Willis. So..if we are targeting a QB then trade back. Fill other positions with BPA and swing at a QB later in the first.
-
I don’t think he’s bad. He’s just sooooo limited. He can’t make downfield throws.

REPORT: Armstead is between Chicago, Miami, and Carolina.

Armstead is a weird target for us. It made all the sense in the world when we were in DW mode. I don’t get it anymore unless we’re trying to acquire another vet QB. I guess they could be so enamored with the rookie QBs they know they’re gonna pass on a LT. But man….heck of a contrast bt the LT talent and QB talent in this class. -
Yep. To me the decision should lie with Fitterer and if I’m Fitt I’m building for the future. If we end up getting Armstead then maybe that is acquiring a QB in the draft with a trade down and acquire more picks. If we whiff on TA then imo you take an OT at #6.
-
I think Ridder as a project has every bit as much upside as any other QB in the class. I’m becoming more and more convinced that we’ll do something like this and trade down. If we traded down with a team like the Packers, Chiefs, Titans, Bills we could pick up a 3rd this year and a 1st next year. Sign Armstead and I’m fine with that.

Kenny Pickett > Malik Willis (at least for us)
unicar15 replied to janderson20vt's topic in Carolina Panthers
What about Love? Hes playing behind the best QB in the league. But has a nice release, a big arm, and has been in the league for a few years. Probably could be had for a future 2nd. So gotta ask yourself…rather draft a guy in the 1st or keep the 1st and lose a 2nd for Love. I know we did this with Darnold. But if we had gotten an offer for Love for what we gave up for Darnold last year nobody is turning that down.
