He’s young. He literally had a better year than Burrow statistically. Put him behind a solid line with CMC as a security blanket and the rest of the team….he’ll roll.
-
He had the second highest completion % in the league last year. He was 7th in QBR. He was 8th in rating. He accounted for 30Tds. If he does that here and doesn’t turn the ball over we’re in the playoffs and may win the division with our Defense

He wants to play….he’s just smart and wants to get paid. He’s gaming the system understanding that if he forces a trade he gets paid. It’s smart.
-
This is what it’s gonna be. If there is a deal it’s going to be for Kyler Murray. Multiple 1s. We sign Dwayne Brown. Mayfield to the Cardinals.
-
I’m going out on a limb with…..Kyler.
-
If we just had to unload his contract and a player in order to sign Duane Brown I’m gonna flip out. That player better be like a 3rd string NT or something…
-
Yeah. They both three hopped those throws. The funny thing is that a huge stink was made about Wilson’s throw last year. But his throw was more of a 45-50 yard flick. These guys are basically three hopping a 70 yard Hail Mary. It’s a totally different kind of pass and neither were as impressive as Wilson.

It’s not happening. Trading a player on a team friendly deal that is a producer is way too much of a net negative rather than just keeping Darnold. Nobody is dumb enough to do this. Trading Darnold to get rid of his contract? Sure. Trading a young contributor to fix a one year mistake? No way in hell. That’s a “hey I’ll give you a 5th rounder to take this contract” kind of deal.
-
We’re gonna give up an asset to get rid of Rhule’s mistake? That is some trueeeee BS. We better get something in return for that young player other than just “take this poo 5th year option we shouldn’t have given up anyway.”

If he goes to the right team in 2 years we’ll be saying that Corral’s comp is Patrick Mahomes. There is a reason Willis has a giant arm. He’s been in the weight room. He’s jacked through the shoulders and in his butt/quads. Corral for whatever reason hasn’t done that but he will in the league. He’s going to put on 15lbs and be the best of the bunch. I bet we stay put and go with Pickett bc he’s more “pro ready.” But if there’s a chance we can trade down and get corral we should. If Willis is going too 5 let someone else have him. No way In hell I’m giving up capital to go get a project. Recoup capital and trade down for a project? Sure. Trade up? Nope.

I don’t think you can just have a warm body but I do think you can win a lot of games with a capable QB and an elite OL. I don’t think that Dak or Jimmy are elite players. I think Dak is good. I think Jimmy is serviceable. But if you put those guys behind our line last year and they’re horrific. Dak has played behind the best OL in football since he came into the league. That’s a HUGE reason he’s good. I think Darnold is spent. I think the mental aspect just isn’t there for him and he’s had such horrific experiences behind horrific lines his entire career it’s unfortunately not salvageable. BUT…if we solved the OL problem and legitimately became a top 5 OL then I think there are a number of different QBs you put back there (including some rookies) that would allow us to compete.

Definitely don’t think Love is a bust at this point. He’s been playing behind a 1st ballot HOFer who just isn’t ready to go elsewhere yet. Who knows…if he has an entire season to play maybe he puts together a good career. Problem is that at thus point he’s gonna go somewhere else to do it and so he’ll be learning all over again. BUT! He’s 6 mo younger than Pickett and has already been in the league three years. To me he’s further ahead of Pickett, has more natural arm talent, and would cost less. So to me if you’re not going to draft Corral bc of superior physical traits to Pickett (in a move down) then trading a mid round pick for Love isn’t the worst idea.

I think that a trade down should definitely be in the plans. Take best player available and try to get one of the quarterbacks at the second

Chris Simms top QB is Matt Corral and why you should listen
unicar15 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Corral is for sure going in the 1st if he is the top QB. He will probably go top 10. Having a capable QB on a rookie contract is a game changer. You can stack your team and basically be better at every position than your competition allowing the rookie to play “distributor” rather than “game winner.” IMO that is what Fitterer has been going for the entire time. They tried moving the timeline with Darnold bc our roster was already pretty stacked. He just sucked too badly for it to work…and quite frankly maybe the OC situation was way worse than we all knew. If we sign Brown then we’re going QB. Just buckle up and hope it’s Corral instead of a “peaked” Pickett or a complete unknown in Willis -
State’s about to win the ACC with Doeren.

John Brown is from Homestead in Miami. Urban was referring to “boys from Miami.” It was for sure a racist slight against Brown. I bet that team is legit this year and TL thrives.
-
Sign Brown. Trade back. Acquire a mid round 1st, 3rd and a 2023 1st. Draft a QB somewhere (maybe Howell). Roll with two 1st round picks and a full draft in 2023. If the QB dice roll doesn’t work this year we probably have a top overall 2023 pick and another 1st. Take Stroud…..keep moving.
-
Hurney 100% would have resigned Donte before FA started and given Reddick a max deal. He was the bigggggest sucker for keeping guys in house.
-
Fitt is building a war chest. He knows this is a multi year operation. Gotta have cap in order to build around a young QB either this year or next…

The Pick Should Be Charles Cross or Evan Neal, Period!!!
unicar15 replied to Matthias's topic in Carolina Panthers
Gotta agree. Future pro bowlers at a position of weakness and of significant importance. You have to roll with them as the pick and hope that Howell, Ridder, or Strong falls to a spot where you can get them or just roll with Cam next year and understand you’re gonna be drafting Young or Stroud. I can honestly see one of those guys falling to bottom of round 3. Just put a package together to move up and get one of them. But you can’t pass up on Ickey, Neal, or Cross to draft one of these QBs. -
I cannot figure out why the Jags aren’t in on this Tyreek deal? Seems like exactly the player they would want and should have a ton of cap.

Scouting reports for the top three quarterbacks
unicar15 replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s interesting to me that Corral is considered “slight” but he’s an inch shorter and 5lbs lighter than Pickett. So basically in order to shed that stigma he needs to gain 5-8lbs. With an NFL training regimen….shouldn’t be an issue. -
He ran a 4.3 at Auburn…..30lbs ago. So nah he’s not running sub 4.4 anymore. He’s prob not running sub 4.6 anymore.
-
Yeah he ran a 4.37 when he weighed 195. He weighs 225 now and I guarantee he isn’t running a 4.37. He got too heavy guys. Be real with yourselves. https://auburntigers.com/sports/football/roster/malik-willis/1163
