Panthers are who I thought they were. No where near championship contender, and they don't have the players to set a championship foundation. Wasted time, energy and talent. Good young talent though. Just not enough to build on. Just wait this out like we waited out the Gettleman/Rivera failure. Panthers had their talent in Beane and McDermott... just missed the boat. Wish we would replace head coaches and GMs as quick as we replace capable starting QBs who call out their coaches. Rhule will want to replace Darnold as soon as he gets frustrated enough to call out the coaches.

This offense is totally dependent on Christian
CPantherKing replied to bobcat91's topic in Carolina Panthers
Offense was dependent on Darnold, CMC, Arnold, and Zylstra converting 1st downs. Now, it is just Zylstra and Sam's legs, and they are opting for DJ Moore instead of Zylstra. I like Moore and Anderson as primary receivers down field, but they're not going to cut it on converting the tough first downs in tight windows with consistency. -

Defense can't make plays consistently to get off the field. Coaching sucks. Darnold has no one to check down to. CMC, Dan Arnold, and Zylstra are all he had going into the season. -

Coaching stinks and front office has left Sam with nothing to rely on. Need check downs and protection. Sam is all alone out there when the game matters with nothing to rely on but himself. Need CMC, Dan Arnold, and Curtis Samuel back for Sam to run this offense. Fitterer stripped this offense of its legs to stand on. -

Panthers have a final try at not screwing up. Defensive players need to win with fundamentals and stop being heroes. Sam needs to ignore the coaches because they're still calling plays like they have CMC, Curtis Samuel, and Dan Arnold on offense for checkdowns. Sam calls plays, Sam runs, and Sam goes for big plays if they're open. If Sam gets injured, oh well... season over. Not going to win with this coaching and front office. -

Too much ego is killing this defense in crunch time. Miss the real defensive leaders. -

Just make the tackle Burns. Trying to always be the hero and costing the defense in crunch time. -

Run Sam run. Do it in spite of the coaching and front office. Sam needs to call his own plays. Nothing reliable to check down too for Brady's offense. Great job Sam. Keep calling your own plays. I know you'll be yelled at but f the coaches. -

Need reliable check downs and hands. Players like CMC, Dan Arnold, and Curtis Samuel only need apply. Ignore all calls from Fitterer. -

Coaches and front office are costing this team big time. Thanks. GL Sam, you have been left to fend for yourself. -

No CMC and no Dan Arnold. Add no offensive line. The front office has left Sam Darnold on an island with no reliable check downs. He is better off just running it himself until he sees a big open shot to take. -
Very Discouraged By Rhule and His Comments After the Game
CPantherKing replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
The players are playoff quality. Not championship quality though. They look great with what the coaches have prepared them for. The problem is Rhule neglects preparing the team for game winning scenarios, and that is so much more important in the NFL than it is in college. The team looks so sloppy when they are in the critical game situations. It's not a single player that's the problem. The offense and defense are not prepared for game winning scenarios. We know the kicking game is messed up too. When the game is on the line the coaches are not prepared. Bridgewater spoke the truth and Bridgewater was not the problem. More DBs and great players will never overcome piss poor coaching preparation. Rhule is the weak point on this team and still learning. -
Buffalo and Washington have a better chance at winning a championship than Carolina. At least Carolina has a better shot than NY Giants. Learn the lesson on what a quality front office and head coach look like, and you will be in a position to at least compete for a championship 2 or 3 times in a decade. Then get the top 9 players right and you can experience a dynasty. I have no confidence in Rhule's coaching or Fitterer's front office to build a champion. Just wasting CMCs talent.

What do we need to do to get back on track?
CPantherKing replied to BlackPanther21_'s topic in Carolina Panthers
A coach who prepares his team to win at the most crucial minutes of the game at the NFL level. That's your answer. -
For a coach who wants to win one more play than the opponent, he sure doesn't prepare his team during the week to do that. The Panthers redzone, 1 minute, 2 minute, and 4 minute offense are poorly coached. The Panthers prevent and redzone defense are poorly coached. Huge lack of preparation in the areas needed to win by one more play. This is all on Rhule for positioning and preparing a team to lose. Bridgewater shined the light on it from last season, and it's staring us all in the face now. Are we waiting for Darnold, Anderson, Moore, and CMC to shine the light on this poor preparation too?
-
If the team can't execute efficiently when they are trailing by a TD or less to put the team in position to take the lead, then they haven't been prepared during the week to do so. Especially, when they look so good and flashy during the rest of the game. This is true for both the offense and the defense. It's a huge breakdown in preparation and coaching. Not playoff worthy.
-
The team is not prepared to close out games on offense and defense. I don't blame the players. They're not on the same page in the most critical part of pro level football. The redzone defense, no huddle offense, 2 minute offense, 4 minute offense, and prevent defense is under practiced and sloppy. The Panthers are the NFL version of the guys in the gym who only work upper body and neglect leg day. The Panthers will be flashy, but they are no where close to being an NFL champion.

Matt Rhule just showed us his true colors.
CPantherKing replied to TheoJay10's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just wondering how long it would take for Panthers fans to realize they have college coaching. They are prepared to start fast and lead. Clearly not prepared during the week to comeback and close out games. Bridgewater shined a light on it after last season and he clearly knows more than Rhule and Brady at the NFL level. The coaching will need another 3 to 5 years at the pro level to mature and have a chance at being nfl championship level. Or maybe a new QB and a few more DBs will fix it. Players are talented. Darnold and Bridgewater are good NFL QBs. Preparation to win during the week is poor, and a clear lack of understanding from coaches on what it takes to set up a team up to win consistently. Panthers will win when players are hot and they don't have to win close games at the end. That's what this team was built for. It's not college ball anymore Rhule and company. Coaches are headed back to college in a couple seasons anyways. -
Leaving for Las Vegas in the morning. Do I put money down on the Panthers to win the SB?
