  1. If Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick or Drew Brees were in this draft, most of you would all want the best of the overhyped and overrated crop of QBs because they can run and have a strong arm. You will take your media hyped falling and failing 1st round projected Mitchell Trubisky(2nd), Akili Smith(3rd), Jay Cutler(11th), Johnny Manziel(24th), or The Golden Calf of Bristol(25th) because there is no clear cut 1st rounder. Reaching for the hype instead of looking past it and recognizing the rising QBs from the back of the pack. You could get your 1st round OL, QB, and a couple WRs/TEs for the same cost of an overvalued QB at the 6th pick. This draft is loaded with mid round talent. Thin on 1st round talent. Do you want a QB like Mitchell Turbisky or Akili Smith with a top 10 pick instead of getting a C like Nick Mangold in the 1st round, a QB like Kurt Warner/Tom Brady in the 6th round, a WR like Steve Smith in the 3rd round, and another WR like Stefon Diggs in the 5th round? There is a center, QBs, and WRs in this draft that will give you the upside of getting the potential of these players who will be much more competitive than most of the overvalued 1st rounders. The amount of talent and upside in the mid rounds of the 2022 draft is rare. I can't recall ever seeing this much talent packed in a draft class. I believe this is due to the covid shortened season in 2020, all the redshirts taken, and all the transfers from big schools going into the 2021 season. You may never see this much talent in a single draft for decades.
  2. Those physical specimens sure win in the playoffs. Oh wait, they don't? And he's a project? Video analysis calls his decision making "borderline disaster" and "turnover worthy". Syracuse shut down his athleticism at the goal line and on his final drive to force a turnover. Willis' athleticism and arm couldn't even get the lead against a team like Syracuse. Watch the game and you'll understand he is not clutch and a complete project. He wasn't even ready to perform at the Senior Bowl against a vanilla D. Just go with Eleby if this is the type of QB you want. I've given you 5 QBs that are success worthy at the NFL level. Coan, Kelley, Glass, Eleby, and Ridder. Coan and Glass are ready to start and capable of learning in live action with success in year 1. The other 3 are minor projects that can start year 2 or 3 with some hard work. Let's all step away from the overhyped fools gold with Pickett, Willis, Corral, Strong, and Howell. If you have to take one of these 5, you take Howell and accept mediocre seasons and missing the playoffs without the best D in the NFL that scores points.
  3. Carson Strong sunk like a rock in the Senior Bowl. Worst of the six QBs there. Zappe looked better. Slow adapting, unathletic, and weak command of an offense. I'd rather have Darnold. That Fresno State breakdown is a joke. Watch the whole game and watch how Strong struggles. When he needs to be clutch he folds. Carson Strong back to pass. Three man rush gets to Strong. Balls out! Strong sulks on the field with his head down with 2 minutes to go. His receivers better be able to jump for his passes. They tend not to be in the receivers area code. He demonstrated that in the Senior Bowl too. Trouble reading defenses and forces balls into double and triple coverage. Think a cross between Jay Cutler and Kerry Collins. You really want that at QB? Great arms. Nothing much for winning a game or being clutch. He can hang his head with the best of them. Mountain West coaches figured out Strong and punished him. NFL coaches will not be worried about facing Strong. If Strong is the QB, get comfortable with hearing "nearly intercepted".
  4. You let Efe Obada go for lack of production and then extend Luvu? They think Luvu is a starter? There will be late round draft picks in this draft who can be more of an impact. I guess anyone next to Jermaine Carter Jr and behind Burns or Reddick against the run game would look like an NFL starter. Good guy. Hard worker. Not an impact player with a nose for the ball. Back up at best.
  5. It's 16 years and it wasn't in the 1st round. You still have not done your research. A QB being drafted from an HBCU to start is RARE. When this rare occurrence does happen, they find starting opportunities and somehow end up in the SB. It's not like an HBCU QB comes along to be drafted every year or couple of years at that.
  6. You can build a legit championship OL from scratch this offseason between the draft and free agency without breaking the bank.
  7. No man. Calm down. He is being touted in scouting circles and his draft stock is rising. He has several big NFL names in his corner talking him up like Deion Sanders, Doug Williams, Jeff Fisher, Marvin Lewis, and Wade Phillips. He is currently getting praised this week with his practices. We will see what happens in the game this weekend. I'd be shocked if he disappoints. Scouts are lining up to see several Big 5 transfers who went to HBCUs this week, and Glass is the headliner. I saw him as a late 5th rounder/early 6th. He is likely a late 3rd now. If he continues to impress, I can see a team racing to grab him first in the late 2nd round with all the other top QBs disappointing. He was likely 8th on the list of the top 10 to start, but he could easily be the 5th or 6th QB taken in the draft. I rarely see QBs I would want to draft. Last time I saw multiple QBs worth drafting was in 2012. Glass is a great upside value pick at QB.
  8. Investing a 1st round pick in a QB with a lame duck coach is insane. The teams that take Ridder, Glass, Coan, Kelley, and Eleby will be the big winners at QB in this draft. I think Glass will end up with the Steelers or Saints. Kelley will land with the Saints. Coan will be with the Colts. Ridder goes to the Commies. Eleby lands with the Lions. I can only hope one of these QBs get a chance under Lame Duck Rhule this year. It will be a very interesting year to watch for all these rookie QBs who will get starting opportunities in 2022.
  9. Panthers could be competitive this year. Draft Aqeel Glass and Jack Coan at QB. Draft Jack Wohlabaugh C and Zach Tom G. Sign a vet guard with playoff appearances. Bring back Trai Turner? Draft Ezra Gray RB/slot receiver/returner Draft Jacquez Ezzard WR/returner. He will be the #1 in a year. Draft Dee Anderson hybrid WR/TE and Jelani Woods TE. Draft John Ridgeway NT/DT and Haskell Garrett for DT/DE. Draft Devin Lloyd MLB and James Houston IV DE/OLB/MLB. Draft Markquez Bell FS. Pair them with CMC, Abdullah, Moton, Christensen, Tremble, Moore, Anderson, Zylstra, Chinn, Horn, Gilmore, CJ, Donte, Shaq, Derrick Brown, and Burns. All but Lloyd can be drafted in the 4th round or later. Glass may go in the 3rd round. Panthers need to trade down their 6th pick a couple times and take Lloyd in the mid to late 1st round. Then trade down to accumulate more 3rd day picks. This will set the Panthers up to be competitive this season and fill a few holes in the 2023 offseason. Any players not listed could be used to gain draft capital too. All of these drafted players can and will be key contributors and gamebreakers in year 1. This will turn around the Panthers faster and seal a young culture of competitors, leaders, and winners who will out work many teams in the NFL while having fun and being thankful for every game... never giving up their starting spot on the field to anyone type of mentality. Need 13 picks. If there is anyway the Panthers can trade Burns plus other players to get a late 1st, or early 2nd and 3rd/4th with Jermaine Johnson on the board, do it too! Massive leader and culture infusion with college players who can thump and tackle. Offensive players who threaten to make a big play happen anytime they touch the ball. These pieces fit with the few good players the Panthers have. Complete compliments. Underdog hard working ethic from day 1 with this selection of players. No where but up! Nothing to lose and everything to prove. Foundation set for key star free agent infusion in 2023. 100% doable. Do it! Be a threat in 2022!
  10. With all the talk about the overhyped and project QBs, there are only 5 QBs I would consider in this draft that have the intangibles needed for playoff runs. Aqeel Glass and Jack Coan will be quick returns for the teams that draft them. Cole Kelley and Kaleb Eleby may be able to make an impact in playoff games. Ridder is the only one of the overhyped bunch that could develop into an NFL playoff QB. I rarely ever see a QB coming into the draft that can be an impact in the playoffs during their rookie contract. This year's draft has 2 of those QBs in Glass and Coan. No question in drafting either of these QBs. Ridder would be a project that will pay off for a patient coach. When you see an HBCU QB get NFL attention, you should take notice. The last 3 who were given the opportunity to start all went to the SB. It's rare, and You'll likely not see it again for 10 to 20 years.
  11. Fans overvalue Burns. Good teams would not start him. He'd be a premier situational pass rusher.
  12. If Rhule becomes a delegator and on field team builder. He allows his coaches and players to dictate the play and culture while he simply guides it. Hitting on 6 leaders in the draft and free agency that all align with a championship culture. That would excite me and give me some hope. Doubt it happens. He has his hands in too much, has an ego that competes with his players, and keeps pushing a culture of self-deprication.
  13. RBs and OL get you to the playoffs. The best QBs will never sniff a SB without this getting them through the season. Salary should be looked at as a whole for RB and OL on SB teams. After that the QB takes over in close games with game winning drives in the playoffs. This is where a QB needs to shine. The best defense will be the one that wins championships by shutting down these franchise QBs on their game winning drives. Watch the final 5 minutes of every SB and conference championship. It's the defense that wins against these same franchise QBs that perform in the playoffs and win SBs.
  14. Stafford proved he is among the elite QBs. Just buried on a disaster of a franchise. 4 playoff wins with 3 game winning drives in one season. That is Tom Brady level. Most good QBs are lucky to win a couple playoff games and have 1 game winning drive in the playoffs for their entire career. He took a giant leap with his playoff performance. Very few QBs have 2 or more game winning drives in the playoffs over their career. The most important measure of a QB is how well they can pull out victories in the playoffs. OL gets you to the playoffs. A QB gets you through the playoffs. A defense wins you championships.
  15. Need a GM, coach, QB, 2 WRs, 2 TEs, C, Gs, DT, DEs, MLB, and S. Need 6 more developed leaders who can all agree on the culture with CMC, Shaq, and Chinn. CMC, Abdullah, Moton, Christensen, Zylstra, Shaq, Horn, Gilmore, and Newton are the only players from the 2021 roster that would impact a game in the playoffs to even sniff a SB. Whoever put the roster together and assessed the talent is really bad.
  16. Stafford knows a failing coaching staff when he sees it.
  17. He played in the AFC Championship. Never said SB for Sanchez. Wow.
  18. They peaked. Not expecting to see them return. Hot and cold team from year to year at best.
  19. Took Cam 5 seasons, but yeah. Same type of QB. Playoffs possible but not champion or legend without a dominant D.
  20. He hesitated and choked in the pocket. Run pass run pass going off in his head. Should have been cool and decisive. Give his receiver a chance to make a play. I'm not talking about his desperation throw after he lost track of everything.
  21. My money is on Burrow never sees another SB or Championship game ala Mark Sanchez or Dan Marino after their second season.
  22. That panic in the pocket is what I expected from Burrow. Not So Cool Joe
  23. Bengals fans have been wanting this spot since Joe Montana crushed their spirits with 1 minute to go.
  24. Advantage Bengals. They get final control. Rams have to make a defensive play and not expect a mistake.
