Would you be pleased if we hired Byron Leftwich??
CPantherKing replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Byron Leftwich HC Dameyune Craig OC Jerod Mayo DC That's my wish list. Doubt Dameyune Craig would leave college, but he has an impressive offensive mind for every level of the game. Mayo has received some HC interest, but he may want to be paired up with Leftwich. -
Rhule would refuse to acknowledge the 3 score deficit near the end of the 2nd quarter, the soft and deep coverage employed by the Browns for the remainder of the game, and the fact the Browns controlled the second half and the clock to limit Carolina to 4 drives absent the last 8 seconds of the game. The Panthers offense controled the ball for a total of 1:20 on their 3 4th quarter drives (average of 26 seconds per drive). He really needs to learn how to manage a game better if he ever wants to win in the NFL because letting the other team control the clock and dictate that they take the ball for the final 1 to 2 minutes of the game will lead to many loses in close games. Yards are overrated in NFL football. Go back to college where they count more with blowout wins and high scoring games you Fhule! Yards are never a thing to hang your hat on in the NFL if that is all you can produce. He will never learn. Teams will gladly give you yards on offense and run the ball all day against the defense for small gains if they can get a multi score lead and control the clock. How do you think Fox and Rivera got to the SB you Fhule?

Can we officially declare TMJ a bust?
CPantherKing replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Those Fitterer drafts and trades have got to be some of the worst draft capital I have ever seen spent by a GM. -
The Panthers are loaded with average players like YGM Championship teams need leaders and game changers. Two leaders in Chinn and Shaq. No game changers. That is the defense. Baker, CMC, Bozeman, Corbett are leaders on offense. CMC is the only game changer on offense. Panthers have Moton, Burns, BC, Moore, Littleton, and Wilson as championship complimentary players. Ickey would likely be a game changer if he was playing LG and not LT. Everyone else is unproven, average, a liability or a team pet. The fact this team has liabilities and team pets taking up roster spots in favor of unproven potential is a BIG problem that tells you the coaching and front office need to be replaced to be competitive on a championship level. The Panthers are short 2 leaders on defense, 3 game changers on defense, 1 leader on offense, and 2 game changers on offense. I say this because the formula is based off of a tested and true to this day method of championship teams. 9 true leaders (5 offense and 4 defense who developed in college or prior to college). 3 game changers on both sides of the ball (players who know when to take risks and have been proven successful with their decision making on the field). 15 unproven potential, 10 championship compliments, 1 field changing threat at punt returner, 1 accurate kicker (top 10), 1 reliable punter (top 10), 1 mistake free long snapper, 1 automatic holder, and 4 passionate special teams gunners. 10 average 5+ year vets from successful teams (5 offense and 5 defense). With this formula. YGM would have been cut, Brown would have been traded, Darnold would have been traded, Walker would have been cut, Thomas would have been let go... you see where this is going. The Panthers roster is a mess if you want to build for a championship. The OL alone, you have Elf, Tecklenburg, Jordan, Erving, and Brown who should not be on the roster. They are wasting valuable time and space, and have shown who they are or not shown any potential to start in the NFL as an average player.

This is what SHOULD happen. It won't. It's Tepper.

Getting to the SB and winning your division is not mediocrity. We wanted the next step which was a dynasty and that takes patience while moving on from a Fox for a Rivera for a... McDermott. Going for a proven winning NFL coach like McDermott, McVay, Daboll, Leftwich, Payton, Harbaugh, O'Connell, or Reid was always the play. Hold a coach like Rivera until you know you can land one of them or Rivera declines by winning 6 or fewer games in back to back seasons. When you have a tier 3 coach like Rivera or Fox, you don't drop them for a coach that could easily be bottom tier and owned by the entire league. The hope was Rivera would be a step up from Fox. He turned out to be the same level of head coach - above average to good, but not great.

When did you figure out Rhule was a fraud?
CPantherKing replied to Randolph Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rivera goes 5-7 and gets fired. Rhule goes 5-11, 5-12, and likely 4-13 and he gets 4 more years for his 7 year plan. Now, I thought the Panthers needed to replace Rivera to take the next step to championship SB level, but I knew the Panthers had to be patient in looking for that coach that would be an upgrade over Rivera. Same with Fox. These are NFL head coaches who can maintain a team in the NFL and beat the Rhules, Meyers, and Moras of the NFL consistently. I knew Rhule was fools gold after seeing how he was unprepared to win an NFL game in the final 6 minutes. This showed with Bridgewater at QB during the Bears, Saints, Falcons, and Chiefs run in 2020. That offense was never prepared in practice to manage/win a close game. It was by the Falcons game I knew this experiment was over and the Chiefs game hammered it home for me. I believed Bridgewater 100% following the season. -
Corrall is a Tepper pick. I expect Tepper to find a coach that wants Corrall. Needless to say that will be another 3 years of misery if that is how an owner chooses to build a team.

So, Baker won't be able to manage the last 2 or 4 minutes of a game to set his team up for a win when trailing by 6 or fewer points in the 4th quarter? I am shocked! BTW, leaving more than a minute on the clock in a 2 or 4 minute drill for the opposing team is not considered good management by the coach or QB. Only coaches with the top 5 defenses in the NFL have this luxury to let their defense win the game against playoff level offenses. All the Browns game showed us is the Panthers defense won't be able to stop anyone from winning the game if they are allowed to hold it for a minute or more to end the game. A defense that can't close out a game against a poor passing game/QB and a coach/QB who can't manage a 2 or 4 minute drill to set their team up to win. There is little to no hope other than blowing a team out if that is what a team brings to the game every week. There will be no playoffs this season and nothing to build on with this QB/coach/defense. A huge loss with another wasted draft and offseason. I see 4 wins for the season. No point in keeping this sinking ship floating in the water. Secure what is valuable and abandon ship!

Baker will never be a franchise QB. He is a journeyman QB at best. Bridgewater. Darnold. Mayfield. When will this front office and coaching staff learn how to evaluate and identify NFL championship level QBs?

I think we should be prepared to let burns walk
CPantherKing replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. He wants to prove college coaching concepts on offense and defense can win in the NFL against the NFL minded coaches who actually win the SBs. -
I think we should be prepared to let burns walk
CPantherKing replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
We are misusing a lot of good players. Chinn, Shaq, Burns, CMC, Moore, Ickey, and BC because the front office would rather move their good players out of position than find good players to fill those roles. -
These new HCs are all better than Rhule. They all have immediate playoff potential. I doubt they have 7 year plans.
