Nix looks like a rookie, but he looks more NFL ready after a handful of games compared to Bryce
-
2nd and 18 and Young sets up a 3rd and very long?
-
Broncos are sitting on run and jumping short passes. Gonna make Bryce prove he can pass it and make plays with his feet
-
Why was Jackson forced to cover 2 receivers? Was that Evero's scheme or did someone underneath mess up and force Jackson to leave his man?
-
Evero scheme working to perfection for the Broncos
-
Big test for Bryce. Can he get the offense moving with Denver sitting on the run now. Took too long to process and a wasted time out
-
Minimum I expect out of the Super Processor on a scripted opening drive. That's the least the Panthers paid for with a big bag
-
Can the Panthers keep up the turnovers and RB domination?
-
Miles Sanders not going to mess up an opening drive? Shocked
-
That's our only hope with an Evero defense. PUNCH that ball
-
Could have raided practice squads for a QB, TE, RB and WR, and the Panthers offense would look better this Sunday instead of playing Bryce, Thomas, Miles and Mingo.
-
But are there 32 QBs better than Cam right now?

What would a successful game for Young look like?
CPantherKing replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
He needs to showcase the super processor and have his passes on target while not hiding in the pocket for 3 seconds. Must convert his 3rd and short attempts. Need to see at least 2 Andy Dalton deep passes completed. He needs to be a consistent threat with the pass on the run when he escapes the pocket, and he must be able to make defenders miss while escaping the pocket. This is his 2nd chance. QBs rarely get a 3rd chance with the same team. -
Bryce Young will start Sunday vs Broncos

Here's a second chance for Bryce. I'm prepared for a bumpy ride. Bryce and Evero for the BIG L -
Dan Graziano: Panthers will trade Diontae Johnson
CPantherKing replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
No one will want to play with or next to an Evero defense if they have value in the league Trade them all or fire Evero. They're leaving otherwise. -
The answer is to fire Evero immediately. Nope, Morgan continues to keep feeding Evero his former project players. Any DC who has led a team to victories in the playoffs will do at this point. A HS DC can do what Evero has done with the Broncos and Panthers.

REPORT: Panthers will not trade Chuba Hubbard
CPantherKing replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Chuba wins 60% of the time on 1st and 2nd downs. He wins 50% of the time on short yardage downs. A championship RB wins 70% of the time on 1st and 2nd downs. A championship RB wins 70% (bad OL) and 80% (good OL) of the time on short yardage. Don't pay Chuba. He has reached his max development and it's not enough. He has 700 more carries in him after this season. That's 3 more seasons as an average starter or 6 more seasons as a backup. Next up if he won't accept a team friendly contract knowing he will be a backup short a miracle progression in his game. As a side note, a good QB sneak wins short yardage 90% to 95% of the time. -
Desmond Ridder was available. He's a Raider now. Cooper Rush and Shane Buechele from that list. Andy Dalton on a team friendly deal if he wants to return. Find a developmental QB and rotate them all if they fall below the standard to keep the starting position.

Dianna Russian: several teams interested in Bryce Young
CPantherKing replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Teams want to work with Young. They don't want him to come in and be their franchise QB next season. Anyone else tired of this 1st round QB swap drama? They're not who you thought they were. They are who they've shown themselves to be. These hyped QBs are college Heisman show ponies hand picked as HS QBs by the Trent Dilfer and Mark Sanchez gurus. Then they're surrounded by actual talent in college padding numbers against weaker schools. -
All time Tepper team GM: Hurney Coach: Rivera .429 (when 12-16 got a coach fired for not making the playoffs) *Wilks .500 QB Kyle Allen RB CMC WR DJ Moore TE Greg Olsen OL Trai Turner DL Kawaan Short EDGE Brian Burns LB Luke Kuechly DB Eric Reid R Alex Erickson K Eddy Pineiro P Johnny Hekker LS JJ Jansen It's been all down hill with the Teppers since at every position outside K, P and LS.
-
It's facts. Here's another fact, Wilks is the last DC to lead the Panthers to the playoffs. He likely would have led the 2022 Panthers to the playoffs with a full offseason, or at the very least DJ Moore keeping his head in the Atlanta game. I give you all of that success and you toss me ONE bad quarter of defense in all of Wilks' 20 games with the PJ to TMJ connection on offense? He had the same defensive roster that Evero made worse last season, and brought his own players in this season to improve it. Mayfield wanted out and was traded by Fitterer. Are there people who still think Evero is better than Wilks and could have done better coming in midseason with PJ and Darnold? Evero wouldn’t win with Darnold, Purdy, Shanahan and the 49ers defense. They'd all leave to go play for Washington.
-
Wilks wouldn't have had Luvu and Chinn run away like they did with Evero. The 34 no pressure defense wouldn't be here. The score wouldn't be 0-30 at the half. Wilks knows how to call a defensive game and prepare a team even with scrubs like he had in Arizona/Rosen 2018, Cleveland 2019/Mayfield and Carolina/Walker 2022. Wilks did out coach Ejiro Evero, Dave Canales, Dan Campbell, Dennis Allen, Todd Bowles, Arthur Smith, Mike Tomlin, Ron Rivera, Mike McCarthy, Dan Quinn, Matt LaFleur, Nick Sirianni, Johnathon Gannon, Pete Carroll, Shane Waldron, Brian Daboll, and Doug Pederson in 2022 and 2023. How many SB winning HCs or coordinators is that? Wilks has also been competitive against the last 2 SB winning HCs. Remind me of Evero's success in coaching the past 3 seasons as a DC? Thumped by Andy Reid and Sean McVay. Handled Arthur Smith and Pederson? I'd go for a Canales and Wilks combo, but the Teppers may have burned that bridge. Wilks is still in Charlotte and I have no doubt he could walk in and improve the defense if they fired Evero tonight.

The Carolina Panthers should go back to Bryce Young
CPantherKing replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
So, Bryce solves the problem of: Hubbard running for -2 to 1 yard on 2nd down and Miles Sanders getting lost on a 3rd & long screen play? Johnson dropping a short 1st down pass and refs allowing PI? Johnson giving up on his route against physical DBs and OL going down field on a pass play? Nijman giving up a sack in 2 seconds on 3rd and 4? Hubbard & M.Sanders failing on 2nd & short, 3rd & short, and 4th and short back to back to back? Hubbard with runs of -2 yards and 0 yards to set up 3rd & 12? Ekwonu on skates getting bull rushed into the QB on 3rd & 4 in 2 seconds? Those were how the 7 drives ended before Dalton led a TD drive anchored by a 30 yard pass with pressure in his face again. You think Bryce solves any of that? Then there's the issue of the RBs and TEs consistently struggling to win in the flats. That's 90% of Bryce's game. Will Bryce solve the defense giving up 30 points by half time? The Panthers offense only had 2 drives before Young came in the game late 4Q. Is no one else noticing the Panthers only get 1 complete drive in 3Q of games after trailing by 2 to 3 scores? The defense can't get off the field and Evero's high school blitzes can be seen pre-snap by anyone watching. Is Bryce going to fix that? QB is not the issue for this team. Dalton, Johnson, Thielen and Coker are the strength of the team followed by a hot (run) and cold (pass) OL. Adding an inconsistent QB in Bryce to inconsistent RBs, inconsistent TEs, and an inconsistent OL is going to do what? Does anyone trust Bryce to read the defense from the pocket after the snap? His receivers and Canales have made it known they don't. What Bryce had success on in HS and college doesn't work in this league. Brian Robinson Jr, Jahmyr Gibbs and Jameson Williams aren't here to bail Bryce out with the huge windows coupled with slower and smaller defenders in college. They're winning with Detroit and Washington making other 1st round QBs look good. Alabama players from the 2022 and 2023 teams are winning with their teams. The media wanted you to believe Bryce, the tiny unicorn Heisman QB, made that Alabama team better when he was the one being carried with his limited game. The media doesn't want to be wrong on Bryce. -
Mayfield still throwing those crazy hospital balls

The running game is hit and miss. It's not winning consistently. It was all TEs and RBs that couldn't win in the flats, off the edges, or between the tackles. Wide receivers were targeted 7 times in the game for 4 touches. Panthers had 8 drives to work with in the game, and the game was 0-27 at halftime. The Panthers only had 2 drives in the 2nd half, and the TD drive was anchored by a 3rd down 29 yard pass by Dalton. 1st drive ended because Hubbard got 1 yard on 2nd down to set up 3rd & long. Then Miles Sanders got lost and couldn't execute a quick release dump off screen. 2nd drive started off with Hubbard losing on 1st down. Dalton set up the 3rd and short. Johnson was turned by DB and no call. 3rd drive was a 1st down pass by Dalton followed by Johnson giving up on his route to a physical DB for the INT. 4th drive was Hubbard losing on 2nd and 6 and Nijman giving up the sack on 3rd down. 5th drive was 4 straight running downs of Hubbard, Hubbard, Miles Sanders, Hubbard. Turnover on downs. 6th drive was Hubbard setting up a 3rd and very long with a -2 yard run followed by a 0 yard run. Then, end of half 0-27. Game over with this defense. Notice how the failing element on 5 of the 6 drives are the RBs? This game was definitely a commitment to RBs and TEs. The RBs didn't win. Hubbard had 12 touches in the first half and lost on 7 of them. Miles Sanders was given 3 opportunities and lost on 2 of them. 8 of 15 by the RBs for 2 turnovers and 2 conversions. 7 of 11 by the QB for 1 turnover and 4 conversions. 3 punts (WR drop, OL sack, RB 3rd & 12) Hubbard converted once on 46% of the offense's opportunities. Dalton was 40% of the offense and doubled the RBs production. Brian Robinson converted 5 times in the first half for a RB comparison. The game was lost on garbage defense and ineffective RBs behind one of the strongest run blocking OLs in the league. Let's stop claiming there is no commitment to the run. Dalton has been bailing the RBs and pass blocking out for 5 games. Hubbard will never be a complete back. He is not good enough to be a power back or a 3rd down back. He's a limited change of pace RB at best who can't carry a game, and he's struggling to be consistent behind this good run game OL. Limited and flashy won't get it done in this league. There is a commitment to the run. You're not seeing it because the defense is allowing everyone to score and the running game can't win consistently. The running game is equivalent to a 40% passing QB who turns over the ball, but makes a highlight play 1 or 2 times every drive that doesn't result in 2 or more scores a game.
