  1. AJ Klein has no hope at covering Travis Kelce in the 2nd half. Rashee Rice is a clutch WR one on one.
  2. Hindsight isn't possible when they're on the board. A few of us pointed out Diggs in 2015 as the sleeper receiver. Landry, Bryant, Henry, Hooper & CMC were known by all here. Conley is good, but not as good as I thought he would be. Kupp was the #6 receiving option in 2017 for me behind CMC, John Ross, Zay Jones, David Njoku & OJ Howard. They were all gone early & Kupp had pedigree like CMC. The point is you keep taking 2 receiving targets per year until you have 5 good ones. There is no luxury to trade up for a Funchess. Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill & Tyler Lockett would be hindsight GM.
  3. The year was 2017. My boards told us to draft Jarvis Landry (2014) & Martavis Bryant (2014) instead of Kelvin Benjamin & Kony Ealy. Chris Conley (2015), Stefon Diggs (2015) & Josh Robinson (2015) instead of using 3 picks on Funchess. Hunter Henry (2016) & Austin Hooper (Hooper) instead of Vernon Davis. CMC (2017) & Cooper Kupp (2017) over Curtis Samuel. I was always looking to get 2 receiving threats for Cam every year until he had 5 good playmaking/route running/good hands targets to get 85% of the targets like Greg Olsen & Steve Smith. Big targets like Benjamin & Funchess were never the answer. Would have been CMC, Stefon Diggs, Jarvis Landry, Cooper Kupp, Greg Olsen & Hunter Henry in 2017 if I had my way. Jonathan Stewart, Chris Conley, Martavis Bryant & Austin Hooper would have found themselves sharing 10% of the targets in 2017.
  4. Hurney protected Cam with Jordan Gross, Travelle Wharton, Ryan Kalil, Geoff Hangartner & Jeff Otah in year 1. Bell was a rookie backup in 2011 who was forced to start due to Otah not being able to stay healthy. Hurney had an OL in place to build from, but he was fired a year and a half into what turned out to be a foundation for a SB roster because it went 1-4 to open the season. Hurney expected Beane to replace him, but that's when it all went off the rails & we rode out 4 seasons of roster building mediocrity on the back of Hurney's team. That mediocrity led to Tepper, Rhule & Fitterer as the final wrecking ball.
  5. Careers are short in the pro game. You don't get past 5 seasons as a starter playing like that in the clutch moments of a game. Reality. Not many chances in the NFL. Can never have your QB do that if you want to win a championship. That's why Purdy is the QB & not Jimmy G or Sam Darnold.
  6. A QB who makes a reactionary decision like that in a clutch moment is never going to win a championship
  7. Wilks & CMC are pieces to a championship team. Tossed out the wrong ones.
  8. CMC, Conley & Purdy on that drive... wanted to draft all of them as Panthers. We had 1 of them.
  9. Receiver didn't know which route to run. He would have been open.
  10. Its LaFleur & Stenavich. They come from the offensive philosophy of Shannahan & McVay. Rooted in Bill Walsh. It's all footwork & timing. Receivers are choreographed to break into a defense's openings based on film & tendencies. Up to the QB to hit that back foot & hitch while trusting the receiver will be open at the exact time the coach has designed it. This is why QBs like Montana, Gannon & Cousins replace DeBerg, George & Griffin.
  11. Officials allowed the Packera to injure Samuel with unnecessary roughness? How many times do they have to blow the whistle, wave their arms & spot the ball before they throw the flag?
  12. Dan Morgan has made this team look like his failed pizza business
  13. Texans defense is getting in Lamar's head. That's not a good sign for the late 4Q for Ravens if it's a close game
  14. We'll see. It's likely given his past & his weaknesses, but Lamar is primed to be the next QB to win a SB for the first time. He's going to need to keep his calm & focus to be ready to win the game at the end. Desperation & panic are what Lamar needs to avoid.
  15. CJ Stroud to Garrett Wilson would have been welcome as Panthers with CMC & Moore working with them. Instead, we get Bryce Young protected by Ikem Ekwonu with CMC & Moore traded away.
  16. I wouldn't have made the trade for a QB, but if the Panthers did I identified the only 2 options. 1. Trade for Lamar Jackson who is the most primed QB per NFL history/data to win his first SB. 2. Draft CJ Stroud if you must take a 1st round rookie. The best scenario I suggested 2022 offseason was to draft a #1 WR & TE to pair with CMC & Moore, draft 2 on the OL day 3 & load up on 3-4 young QBs to go for the 1999 Rams model moon shot. Garrett Wilson was that WR with true leadership. My top 2 TEs were Jelani Woods & Jake Ferguson. QBs were Purdy, Ridder, Glass & Coan. The OL additions were Zach Tom & Jamaree Salyer. Add Michael Mayer in 2023 (Jack Coan's other college TE) Purdy, CMC, Wilson, Moore, Ferguson, Mayer, Tom, Christensen, Bozeman, Corbett, Moton would likely be the Panthers starting offense now. I would have used the draft capital spent on Bryce Young to strengthen the defense.
  17. The smart move would be to keep Bozeman, move Ekwonu to guard next to Moton with Christensen & Corbett on the left side. Better blindside pass blocking & a power running right side of the OL. Easier running audibles to kill a pass play & get leverage on the blitz. Need an offensive coaching staff that will go with a power running game.
