That shows you the LBs can fill gaps. They're just not being put in positions to make plays. This is a back stop defense. Evero seems to hate calling stunts over the past 3 seasons -

You do as the coaches say. They got the lead and went into safe mode -

What kind of play calling is that on a goalline defense? -

Bryce Young would look good against a DC like Evero. Likely why they thought he looked good against the Panthers D in the offseason -

Dalton is concerned with that corner being turned and watching it. That led to his INT last week, but I also know Dalton has thrown quick read TDs with Ekwonu stretched out falling to the ground -

This defensive scheme is garbage. So many holes, too much padding and no pressure -

Ekwonu got beat on that drop back and Dalton had to step up early to save yards -

Evero's scheme, preparation and play calls have always been his problem since he's been a DC. He could have a top 10 defensive roster and they'd still give up 30+ points to average NFL offenses -

Weakest blitz play I've seen called in the NFL. Easy for offense -

Does Evero have this defense prepared or are we going to watch another HS DC performance?

Trevor Lawrence, Baker Mayfield, Zach Wilson and Sam Darnold are not clutch QBs. They will need defense and great game management to win consistently during the season. They are done in the playoffs when the defense and coaching can't carry the game. Don't waste time or money on them. They'll be the end of great coaching and defense in the playoffs following a strong running game during the season. Geno Smith is clutch and can contend for a championship game in the playoffs.

Amazes me anyone would say he's not clutch. 30.4% GWD conversion is lower level clutch like Derek Carr and Aaron Rodgers. Andy Dalton is 26.4%. Baker Mayfield is 17.5% and Sam Darnold is 12.5%. Bryce Young is 11.1%. People need to realize QB must be 60% clutch and 40% game manager in an NFL game. A couple of my QB targets are Cooper Rush at 75.0% and Desmond Ridder at 35.7%. Desmond Ridder had crazy clutch ratios like Tom Brady in their college careers. Ridder needs a coach like Canales. SB dynasty QBs are around 40% & clutch playoff QBs who make it to championship games are around 30% as a gauge. When you run this across the 64 championship QBs over the past 35 seasons you'll see the same result with a 3% to 5% swing from the start to finish of their career. This goes for the undervalued championship QBs like Case Keenum and Erik Kramer too. QBs come prepared from college knowing how to be a clutch performer. It's only the game management and system they need to be coached up on in the NFL.

Had Shenault after trading a 6th & 7th for him. Then spent a 2nd round pick on Mingo. Same receiver. This front office & scouting has been miserable

So, every teammate of Bryce Young is looking good in the NFL. Panthers still have the same talent evaluators in the front office?

Dalton Brought My Love For the Game Back
CPantherKing replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes. Thank you Dalton. Thank you Canales. Now... move Ekwonu to G so we have the best G in the NFL. Put BC at LT. Find an average NFL center anywhere and put Corbett back at G. I'll leave trading the surplus guards up to Morgan. Convert Mingo to a 3rd down RB/H-back. Replace Evero immediately. Those moves give the Panthers the best opportunity to win now. -
Excuses for Evero. Evero stans will hang on to him as an unproven DC for half a decade before even considering he can't elevate below average talent to middle of the NFL like any good DC has done. He could field a bottom 5 defense for 5 straight seasons and they will want him as HC. Just give him all pro players, right? I hope Canales cans the Evero stans like he did Bryce stans by giving the defensive play calling to someone else after Evero puts up 2 more 30+ point games. Let's see if it's the defensive talent or the poo defensive prep and scheme. I know who's holding back the defense just like I know who was holding back the offense. I'm positive I'm not the only one.

Most would go to other teams and start like Vonn Bell did. The Panthers have been farming defensive starters for the NFL. It's the DC. D.Brown, D. Williams, A. Robinson, Tuttle, Wonnum, Clowney, Shaq, Jewell, A.Brown, D. Jackson, M. Jackson, Hill, Fuller, Woods, and Scott have and would start on an average NFL defense. Some have started on NFL playoff teams.

Snow had a 2nd year Burns who was an even worse run defender. Evero had a 5th year Burns in a contract year and got the same production as a 2nd year Burns. Which coach put Burns in a position to be more productive? You know the answer. Snow had more to work with? No. He got more out of less developed players who had serious weak points in their game against the run. You keep proving my point for all to see how bad Evero has been as a DC. The personnel excuses will never work. A bottom of the league defense will always be the DC.
