  1. I heard the same thing, but I don't trust that source. Sources gonna source lol If you're going to poach QBs because there is not an obvious one, you poach from the Bill Walsh tree. Walsh to Holmgren and now Reid. Same reason I wanted Mark Brunnell and Kurt Warner in 1995 instead of Kerry Collins. I wanted McNair/Brunnell/Warner, Warren Sapp, Ty Law, and Derrick Brooks to start the franchise. Instead, we got Kerry Collins, Tyrone Poole, Blake Brockermeyer, and Shawn King. That gives you Buechele, Foles, Hogan, and Bray. Nothing flashy, but QBs who can win like Brunnell and Warner. Role the dice on one or two of them when you don't see anything great because everything is just flash and fluff. Buechele is being protected by Reid. Foles is on the Bears roster and may be traded. Hogan is on the Titans roster. Titans would be better if they got over Tannehill and went with Hogan. Bray is on the street just like Kurt Warner going into the 1998 season. Winners>Top Prospects (eye candy) 60s: Unitas>Namath 70s: Staubach>Bradshaw 80s: Montana>Elway 90s: Favre>Aikman 2000s: Brady>Manning 2010s: Wilson>Stafford 2020s: TBD? I don't think we will ever learn the lesson history has been teaching us. Everyone likes their shiny QB that looks good over winners and everyone follows the leader.
  2. correction. restructure not re-sign. point stands.
  3. I don't think they re-signed Elf to sit on the bench. He's likely penciled in at starting guard where they wanted him last year. 10 OL on the roster atm. Panthers have Christensen listed as a tackle. Christensen will likely compete with Erving for the starting LT. I wish they would get rid of Erving.
  4. Mariota and Winston? Combined: 138 starts. 76 Ls. 23 game winning drives. They've had their shot. To compare. Stafford: 182 starts. 95 Ls. 42 game winning drives. Good QBs on bad teams are still responsible for 50% of their wins. Next! You want a good overlooked QB on bad teams? Nick Foles: 56 starts. 27 Ls. 13 game winning drives. (on par with Stafford's rate of production at QB) Gardner Minshew: 22 starts. 14 Ls. 4 game winning drives. There is some potential here. The losing % is worrying. Not close to 50%. I'd want to see 12 Ls and 5 game winning drives I'm looking for a QB with a win% above .400 and a w:gwd ratio around 2 or less. Good QB on good teams Tom Brady: 316 starts. 73 Ls. 53 game winning drives. (for comparison)
  5. You sign a SB MLB like Damien Wilson at the age of 29 for experience and mentorship. Possibly temporary starter. The moves point to the Panthers drafting Devin Lloyd or Nakobe Dean. MLB has been the one position they have been silent on as a need and the 1st round championship leaders sitting there for them in Lloyd and Dean. They have addressed the OL. Likely not going OL in 1st round. There is no 1st round QB talent in the draft and there are no signs of moving Darnold. Cam Newton seems to remain an option too. I'm expecting the Panthers to trade down and make the moves to take a LB in the 1st round and then a QB on day 2. LB gets mentored by Wilson and QB competes for the starting job. The defensive signings and roster building feel like Snow is moving primarily to his 33 stack defense from college which he has been messing with the past 2 seasons but has not had the MLB or FS to make it work (they tried to force Shaq and Chinn into these roles and moved them out of position). If the Panthers sign another top safety that can play FS/SS I'm sure we will see the 33 defense used often. They tried using Gilmore in this role as a CB/FS last season, but it just didn't hold up against the run. If they sign another flex safety (say Mathieu... who may or may not be a target): Brown NT, Ioannidis DE(strong), Gross-Matos(weak) Lloyd MLB, Thompson OLB(strong), Burns(weak) FS Mathieu, Chinn SS(strong), Woods SS(weak) CB Horn, Henderson, Jackson Ioannidis can slide to DT, Burns can slide to DE, Chinn can slide to LB on any given play. Snow will have a D that can go from a 44 to a 43 to a 46 to a 34 to a 33 to quarters with an audible. You just need DEs, MLB, and SS who can stop the run while the MLB and SS are able to drop into zone or man coverage for this 33 defense to not get exposed.
  6. Pickett has 1 game winning drive and 5 losses in the last 2 seasons. Not a good ratio given his opportunities. He is not good throwing to the left side of the field. Great at throwing mid to right. Not a QB that will survive against NFL defenses.
  7. Ridder's comp is Randall Cunningham. Ridder is one of 3 QBs I see in this draft that will rack up game winning drives in the NFL. I'd value Ridder as a late 2nd round pick.
  8. https://youtu.be/6cDRYHxT9lY?t=272 Youtube video of Bozeman mic'd up. Enjoy. Would love to see him and Cam Newton interacting during a game. Quality leader on the OL.
  9. Bozeman, Corbett, and keeping Elflein at guard makes the interior OL much better than last year. Elf is now C #3. Finally settling on leaving Christensen at T and using him as a backup G. Wish we could have at least got a 3 year deal with Bozeman, but a lame duck coach only going to get you 1. The OL went from no proven leadership to 2 playoff/SB level OL leaders with Bozeman and Corbett. Expecting the Panthers to pass on an OL in the 1st round and draft 1 or 2 OLs later to compete or at least add depth.
  10. You were correct. Falcons and Saints were leverage meant for the Panthers. Worked on the Browns. Surprised the Browns buckled like they did. Wondering why there is still silence on the Browns side. Must be issues with the Watson contract being reworked. Maybe they still need to move players to make it work? There is no way any team should allow themselves to get walked over by the trading team, player, and agent. Browns going to be Browns. Glad Tepper did not go to this level of franchise implosion. Glad Watson won't be a Panther. I'll feel even better when the Browns speak it into existence. Knew the Texans wanted this to come to a close end of day Friday. Guess the Browns have a lot of clean up to do before their media team puts it out there. I didn't see Watson wanting to be that far from home or a team giving him an entirely new record breaking contract after his terrible 2020 season, his massage baggage, and sitting out for an entire season while being 27 this season and only having about 2 to 3 years before he needs to prove he can be a pure pocket passer. All those extra millions would make you move anywhere and never care about winning a SB.
  11. If the Texans and Browns don't agree to terms by the end of what will be a very long night for them, this deal is falling apart too. I just want Tepper to close the door on Watson already. He's still sitting at the table.
  12. If he can do it, they need to let him show up and give the man some targets.
  13. Schefter is saying the Texans and Browns are still talking. Have not agreed on compensation. That was 1 hour ago. Rapsheet said Watson plans to waive his NTC and trade talks/compensation is not final. That was 2 hours ago. Anything new?
  14. Holding up with what? I'm happy with Moore as a 2, Robby as a 3/deep threat, Zylstra as a 4/3rd down receiver. Need a 1/playmaker with great hands that will scare a defense for the passing game to go anywhere.
  15. Can anyone find a Browns player that has congratulated Watson for being their new franchise QB?
  16. Is he officially a Brown or did he just post an image of him in a Browns uniform with an unnamed source who leaked generic numbers? When he is on a plane to the Browns to do media like Amari Cooper did when he was officially a Brown, then we can call it official. Until then it is an Instagram post to feed the media dogs. As of right now, his contract is still held by the Texans. Waiting for the Texans to agree to the Browns terms.
  17. You've been telling me it's over for the past 3 days for 3 different reasons because of crap that you ran with. The sources going around and people are lobbing up because it just came out minutes ago keep saying it is not final. Yet you all keep saying it is over because your sources say things still need to be finalized and executed. Or an instagram post. Not final does not mean final. I want the Panthers taking the offer off the table. Stating they are no longer pursuing Watson. I want the Browns or Texans to announce something. You all are getting strung around by the Watson camp just like the media. Do not send me a source that does not state their source or uses words in their report of not finalized and still needs to be executed... or reportedly Watson is a Brown. I want some ink on at least an agreement and someone to step out from the shadows to put their name on these reports.
  18. I've read all those stories about sources and the trade not being final. Everyone but the Texans and Browns. The reports are that the Texans and Browns still must execute the trade. Not hearing anything from the Texans or the Browns. This is all coming from Watson?
  19. So you don't have anything to confirm? Please move away from me.
  20. Has a Browns source confirmed this? I just want to know it is done.
  21. Reading around. Where does it say it's official? I see a lot of "reportedly" and "sources" Nothing from the Browns side. Not even on their website saying they've agreed.
  22. I really hope so. Get Watson out of here. No clue why he would waive his NTC for the Browns with everything he wanted.
  23. Watson is not going to the Browns with the Panthers and Saints offer still on the table. This is hardball by the Texans to the Watson camp. I could see the Texans possibly wanting Mayfield as compensation and their starter though. I just don't see Watson ever waiving his NTC to go to the Browns since it is further away from family. Texans should have never allowed Watson to talk to the Falcons last minute.
  24. Thank you. Patience everyone. Just have fun with it. Tweets don't sign a contract. This is the Texans and Watson taking shots at each other and damaging other franchises in their wake lol. Now can someone please confirm for me that the Panthers have taken their deal and moved on. I don't want Watson.
  25. It's called speculation. Have fun with it or move on Mr. I Have the Facts check my tweet references.
