He has to protect his brand and his image in charlotte. So he has to say he wants to be here and he also needs an excuse as to why he hasn't signed yet. It's not even lying, because I'm sure he wants the market to reset after the Kaep deal, but it's not the whole truth. You have to look at it from Cam's view and not as a fan of the Panthers. Cam was drafted here and since he's been here, he's gotten very little help on the offensive side of the ball. He's going to look out for Cam above all else and he should.

Texans last year was better, if Josh Gordon is on the field the Browns are better, Ravens were better.

Saying he's willing to let the market reset is a nice way of saying I'm not sold on being a Panther long term and I want to wait and see what happens.

I'm not biased when it comes to Cam. My close friends will tell you that. I don't know if Cam is our answer or not because we haven't put the necessary talent around him to evaluate him properly. If Bersin isn't the #1 option in a playoff game does Cam complete that throw and lead a comeback? Maybe a Super Bowl? Who knows. I do know he isnt interested in signing an extension at this point and it has a lot to do with what you guys call my "bitching". Same reason Andrew Luck refused to play here, and now he's surrounded by talented players AND talented coaches.

We were competitive when Hurney got fired. The first two years with Cam we were always in games and should have won many of them. We went 12-4 because of Riverboat, and then last year we were getting blown out and went on a run BECAUSE OUR SCHEDULE GOT EASIER. Not because the magical rookies, we played the fuging Browns and Falcolns down the stretch.

Gettleman gets all the praise while Hurney's guys make all the plays. How many GMs are handed a franchise QB and a future Hall of Fame middle linebacker? But yet he spent an entire offseason and walked away with the bright idea that Bell was the best option at LT. Tragic

You'd follow Gettleman off a Cliff and proclaim it to the best logical option.

Again, my football iq is not up for debate. To compare it to Dave's is just plain dumb. He's in competition with 31 other guys, not me. He has to be smarter than them. The problem is WR need some serious talent at WR, I go at Bersin only because we don't have the talent to put him on the bench. I'm down for drafting a WR high, but you can't keep going after the same positions. There is nothing wrong with signing a guy like Nicks to come in and be your #2. Then you can look elsewhere in the draft. It's not Bersin's fault. Same way they talked up King and Mcnutt last year. The Victor Cruz story is great and all, but at some point you need to take risks.
