If we fire Dave after 1 season we will have to dip into college D-2 ranks to find our next one. You just can't do it.

My brother splits PSLs with somebody else. He goes to 4 games a year. He enjoys it even when they lose. Idk what he gets out of it but he does.

I don't think it's over. I think the Bears defense was just that good. Somebody made a great point here that Shane Waldron and Dave Canales worked together closely for years. The Bears had a shutdown corner to take DJ out of the game.

He's still good. He's just kinda old and he won't be around forever.

I don't have IG so didn't see his post but this is the sense I get from him. He doesn't care about playing for a contender as much as getting his bag.

IMO we should be talking about extending him by mid-season if he keeps playing well. 3-4 year deal $25-27M. He wants a big contract. We have to pay him like an elite receiver. He burned a poo out of the Bengals and the Raiders. If he had had 4 games of decent quarterbacking he'd probably be a top 5 receiver statistically. He's still top 20 with the absolute worst quarterbacking he could have had the first 2 games.

Healthy respect for most of these teams. With Dalton playing I'm confident we can beat the Bears. Their offensive line is bad bad bad and Caleb is struggling. All of the other teams on this list have at least one big threat who can take over games (Commanders, Broncos, Giants, Cards), or are well-rounded teams (Chiefs, Saints, Boys, Bucs, Falcons)

I'm a Charlotte native and grew up going to games with my grandpa. My brother is a fan too, and he has an arrangement with a PSL holder for 4 games a year. Talking football with him keeps me kind of engaged. I will continue to pull for the team and hope it turns around. I can't really just turn that off. But I am not invested in the team anymore at all. There is nothing to be gained. We are the worst team in the NFL and it isn't close. Everybody that we play gives a half-ass effort and still dominates us. The games are really boring. I refuse to continue watching the boring football so I got red zone yesterday. It is not worth being an invested fan of this team.

No I am not confident about the future. I was all offseason. Then Bryce showed in this first game that his overall body of work last year was his true ability, not his work against Houston and GB. I hate that it only took one quarter for me to go from confident Bryce was gonna work out to zero confidence, but it happened. The only reason for future hope is that the new supporting cast did its job. The line played well, especially the two new guards. Receivers got open. The plays seemed more creative. The running game started out passable. Then Bryce imploded. Missed throw after missed throw, many of them badly missing. Bryce sucks and there is no one coming to save us.

I was a Bryce believer all off-season. But he literally looks no better at all than last year. Still badly misses throws more often than not. For an alleged superprocessor he looks lost out there. He was protected better today than he was last year and he still looked godawful. It is obvious his size is a detriment. We know what he is now and he is not a starting QB. I’m not sure he is even good enough to be a decent backup.

Why would he get anything other than the entire season barring injury?

@MHS831 can you shed more light on the differences between Ickey and Campen? Was it just racial and age or was there more to it?

I still believe in Bryce. This season was awful obviously. I think Bryce's situation made success impossible.

In this context “retained” means hired. I don’t believe they were involved last year. It’s common for certain professions to be retained for services.

Bryce ain't a fuging bust. He showed noticeable improvement this week. He's being handcuffed by his own coach. His weak supporting cast isn't helping much either. If the Rams or Dolphins had him instead he'd look just as good as Stroud.

I'd rather have the team move than help Tepper subsidize the stadium

He doesn’t know how to hire people. He gets excited about people he likes personally who can smooth talk him, even if they are not good fits for the job.
