Yeah not huge on Willis. Corral, Pickett and Strong are my faves. Ridder and Howell not far behind. But Willis..I acknowledge the upside but his game v Corral was very underwhelming.. surrounding talent considered.

Eberflus is still my top but y'all are convincing me on Hackett. Heck, sounds like Daboll is on the hot seat but one season's rut doesn't make a coach.

He has such a pretty and accurate deep ball though. The downfield placement is hard to ignore IMO and that Nevada offense asks a lot of him. More advanced than the typical college system. Think he's hands down the best pure QB in the class.

I don't like to kick a guy when he's down but hot damn. The worst is when you can tell the disconnect/disinterest in the players with him. He seems isolated from that player connection standpoint. I'd love to get an opinion of Matt Paradis in particular (once he's gone & can be honest) as he's one of the only vets that came from a decent system in Denver. Would love to ask how we were in practice/gameplanning vs. other staffs. We all know Teddy alluded to it and it sounds like they truly are learning as they go/don't have the vet resources. Hell, he's gotten me to break my sax spiel and get all down in the ruts about this team. We need something new and another season with him learning on the job could present even worse issues. Reaching for the wrong QBs, misfiring on more coaches, etc.

Well that's your assumption and manner of breaking it down. I'm suggesting getting a search firm that is comprised of ex-execs (there's a few in the NFL ranks), which is the most common term they're given. Hope that clears it up. The man paying them still makes the decisions, he doesn't contractually give them away. Search firm, advisory group, call it what you may. The premise is I'd like Tepper to add resources to the hunt and not do it in the vacuum of thinking he knows what to ask and how to find the right guy. Pretty clear.

Not the best analogy but getting a realtor doesn't mean you have to go with their favorite or first recommendations. It's a process, it's only beneficial to give yourself quality resources.

Not the typical procedure in the NFL. He's not abdicating control. He hires them for their professional intel that is compiled and presented as the pool gets smaller and smaller. They present findings and recommendations through the process but it's still his power, his choice.

I dreamt a dream that we lost to the Falcons. And we could only muster 9 points...we may be getting out of this Rhule fiasco sooner than later. But with that in mind, consider: Tepper marches at the beat of his own drum and it's hard to really make happen as a fan, but I really hope this experiment has shown him that he needs football opps guys to help in our next HC search. Much like JR did with Gettleman. Looking back, I can imagine Rhule was a grand vision guy, great first impression/interview type and much of what we're seeing could have been dug into at the beginning of the search. I'm feeling some questions weren't asked because Tepper was so blown away and bought into the hype (or if they were, he had a very shmoozy answers): "How will you compensate for having such limited NFL experience?" "What will be your offensive and defensive philosophies?" "Do you have player types and a vision in mind for the type of team you would like to build?" My biggest thing when looking at those intro pressers and Tepper interviews was that he was wow'd in the now. I really am unsure if he actually dug into the candidates. For all we know, he was basically looking at like McCarthy & Rhule. Both being pretty yuckersauce and went with the trendy pick out of left field. This was also likely accompanied with being his first HC search as a giddy new owner. Yes, he's a shrewd businessmen but he's also getting his feet wet as an owner. There's always something to learn. I just really hope DT puts together a few football minds that can dig deep & ask pressing questions during our next search. I'd want to make sure they have the knack for coaching at this level, could tell me how they would take down the Bucs or Chiefs. How they can counter a good gameplan. If we're talking names like Hackett, Eberflus, Dabboll, Pederson, etc., we need to make sure they can actually cut the mustard to this degree beyond the paper resumes and whatnot. It's easy to list these hot names and their resumes, but getting a few guys to help gauge who has the head coaching gene beyond coordinator life will be critical. Here's to hoping. Get a search committee.

LOL at Florio in this. Florio: "I'm not saying Matt Rhule is a buffoon but...." If Tepper wants high standards and better results, get rid of them all and bring in a seasoned coach. They nailed the college vs. pro dynamic. We've got a recruiter/talker/non-evolving program guy. Not one that's attuned to scheming, evolving, and creating a dynamic system.

Re-signed Cam as in: Released Cam, signed Teddy B, released Teddy B, traded for Sam Darnold, benched Darnold, then the owner instructed him to sign Cam because his plan was dogsh*t. Yeah, that's more like it.

Totally. Looking at the positives--at least his drafts have netted us some decent guys to have around for a bit post-regime, notably: Chinn, YGM, Horn, Brady C, Tremble, Chuba, Taylor all seem like solid contributors to keep. Brown hasn't been what I thought but can see grow into a better, above avg DT. Wouldn't classify him as a bust more so a missed opportunity pick --Wirfs and Wills Unsure about Marshall and Shi but they could be good. And then Hoskins has flashed for being such a deep pick.

To this day, I would have still fired Rivera in 2014 pre-SB run. We didn't make that run because of him. His crews can bring a team to a playoff contender floor but that's about it. Needs the players to do the rest. McD was also a big part (who don't forget we interviewed in contention with Rivera before bringing both in HC+DC) McDermott may not have been ready yet back then but who really knows. Looking ahead--I see 4 totally respectable and pretty darn certain upgrades in Hackett, Daboll, Pederson, & Eberflus. They should strongly be considered to replace Rhule and get things back in order.
