  1. The funny thing is I’m not sure by “accused sexual predator” you’re talking about Deshaun Watson or Jerry Richardson. There has been a lot of simping for both of them lately.
  2. Panthers = 0 Super Bowl wins in the last 10 years. Saints = 0 Super Bowl wins in the last 10 years. Pretty easy.
  3. What kind of standard is that for an o-lineman? Can you point to an example of any LT in the history of football "winning a game" for his team? I guess you would argue that Anthony Munoz and Jonathan Ogden were terrible draft picks at 3rd and 4th overall because they never single-handedly won a game for their teams. I don't even want Linderbaum at 6th but that's a silly argument because that would exclude any LT as well.
  4. 3rd round comp pick, come on down!!! (Hopefully we don't blow it by overpaying on a lackluster FA signing). Also, guaranteed if the Panthers extended Reddick's contract at anything near this amount, people would be blasting them about how we were bidding against ourselves and no one would have signed him for anything close to this.
  5. You have to ban him 38 times to fulfill the prophecy.
  6. Teddy is apparently Mr. One-and-done lol.
  7. All we know is that Rhule thought Slater would be a better fit at Guard because of his short arms. So Rhule equates short arms with IOL...he values long arms for tackles. So it's not clear whether or not this will even impact his placement on our draft board.
  8. I'm confused...do we typically telegraph our pick? Or do we smokescreen? I keep hearing the former with regards to our alleged interest in Pickett and the latter with regards to interest in drafting an o-lineman.
  9. Dawg...you're arguing against a strawman. The person I quoted said that Garoppolo couldn't even win with a stacked team and great coaching staff. I said he was winning...that's it. Everything else is an argument you're attributing to me that I've never made. I never stated that he contributed in any meaningful way to his team winning. Why would I say I'd hate trading for Garoppolo if I thought he was this beast of a QB carrying his team to a 70% win rate? Your bolded take is also my take, which is why I don't want to trade for him and why I just said "you can criticize him for many things but 'not winning' is not one of them". All I did was correct that guy on an incorrect statement. This is like if someone said "Ryan Santoso does not have a Super Bowl ring" and I corrected him and said "yes actually he does have a Super Bowl ring" and then you came in here and argued "Wow you really think Ryan Santoso is the reason his team won the Super Bowl?!?! From the practice squad?!".
  10. Umm...yes? Although still 10% lower of a win rate than Garoppolo. You can debate the threshold for win percentage that would make someone a "winner", but >70% win rate for a starting QB with roughly 50 starts is objectively very strong. You can criticize him for many things but "not winning" is not one of them. What is your definition of "winner"? Seems like yours has nothing to do with win percentage...so kinda directly contradicting the literal definition.
  11. I mean I'd be pissed if we traded for Garoppolo but the dude is in large part a winner. 33-14 as a starting QB in the regular season and 4-2 in the postseason.
  12. I mean I graduated from UNC and I think it sounds a bit like mental gymnastics to suggest that Trubisky is actually a genius strategist by foregoing a starting opportunity to instead hold a clipboard on the bench for 1-2 seasons because you aren't being handed your ideal situation. You're just as likely to drift into obscurity essentially taking 1-2 gap years as you are of getting another starting opportunity down the line. If I'm a QB who is confident in my own ability, I'm not taking that opportunity for granted by simply hoping something better comes along in the future. As the great philosopher and orator Marshall Bruce Mathers III once said, "You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime".
  13. We'll see if that strategy worked out in the long run for Jameis this offseason. Although it made much more sense with Jameis since Brees was old and on the verge of retirement so there was actual opportunity for him. Trubisky has zero shot unless Josh Allen is injured. Not sure how much it improves your stock to warm the bench for two seasons with virtually zero meaningful snaps.
  14. I guess I just don't treat press conferences as a microcosm of the real world and a reflection of one's true character. Ron Rivera is by all means a wonderful stand-up guy and someone players love to play for. Did he often go up to the podium and take accountability for poor performances? I don't think so, but I may be misremembering. Coaches have to lie all the time at the podium because reports are often prying about sensitive things. Are these coaches "liars" with poor character? Press conferences are largely a joke and I think the only people who take them seriously are fans who have already formulated a strong opinion on a coach one way or another. Then every answer a coach gives just reinforces that fan's preconceived notion about the coach. Regardless, I agree with your point to a degree, which is why I said I only start caring if it ruffles feathers and creates tension in the locker room to where players lose respect for their coach. I just don't see any indication that it has gone there.
  15. Listen here you poo-slangin boomers @Asaria @1989 @WarPanthers89 "/s" is what the kids these days put at the end of a post to indicate sarcasm. I love Luvu and am very happy with the extension.
  16. Yeah exactly, which is why I'm not interested in what the coach is saying at the podium. A coach up there saying "it was totally my fault, I take full responsibility" maybe comes off favorably for certain people who value optics, but at the end of the day, actions speak louder than words and you willfully went into the Super Bowl with that o-line. If Rivera went up there after the 2016 Super Bowl and said "you know, I should have made sure adjustments were made on the o-line and our tackles had gotten help against Miller and Ware", do we honestly think a single Huddler would have praised him for taking accountability? Naw f that, we would've been like "NO poo, FOOL!". The Bengals' second half collapse in protection was a prime example of a young inexperienced head coach unable to make adjustments to dig himself out of a bad situation. Kind of similar to us, except in our case it was an entire 4 quarters of incompetency in making adjustments rather than just one half.
  17. That's fine I guess. I don't really personally care what a coach says up at the podium, I'm more interested in the product he puts out on the field which was the basis for my comparison between Rhule and Taylor. The only time this "railroading" is a concern to me is if it starts ruffling some feathers in the locker room and there's no indication of that happening. I mean we can agree the Bengals' o-line is pretty trash right? There seems to be a fine line on whether it's commendable for a coach to shoulder the blame or if he's just "coddling" poo players publicly. I think if Rhule went up there and talked about how he needs to do a better job as a coach of putting our o-line in a better position to succeed and maximize their strengths, we would all be collectively laughing at how delusional he is about our horrific o-line and we'd almost certainly get 19 threads talking about how this moron Rhule thinks our o-line is good enough to compete and he clearly has no intention of addressing o-line in the offseason, etc.
  18. Maybe not, which is why I wouldn't personally make that argument. I'm just saying it's the most compelling argument a Rhule defender (or Rhule himself) could possibly make because it provides a real example of a brand new coach who failed his first two seasons who miraculously pulled off a Super Bowl appearance in his third season. If I were Rhule, I'd be pointing to the Bengals as to why a franchise QB is so important and that it's impossible to succeed as a coach without one.
  19. Wtf why are we signing all these Jets castoffs!??!? What a pathetic move. /s
  20. It's funny seeing people prop up Zac Taylor on here as this paragon of coaching who we all wish Rhule could be, when Taylor was Rhule until he got his franchise quarterback. Taylor took a 6-10 Bengals team to 2-14 his first season (last in AFC North), drafted Joe Burrow, took them to 4-11-1 his second season (last in AFC North), then a 10-7 Super Bowl season in his third season on the back of his franchise quarterback who came into his own this year. The irony is that Zac Taylor is the best and possibly only argument one could make for sticking with Rhule. "Hey look at Zac Taylor, he was abysmal his first two seasons in the NFL and he managed to make it to a Super Bowl in his third year...maybe there's hope for Rhule!". I mean I wouldn't personally make that argument because I want Rhule gone, but this is exactly the type of argument Rhule would try to pitch to Tepper.
  21. The only homerism I’m seeing here is yours towards Brady. So if someone thinks Rhule sucks, Brady sucks, Tepper sucks, our entire roster/coaching staff suck, our FRANCHISE sucks…who or what exactly is the recipient of this homerism?? Nothing positive has been said about anyone connected to our organization in here.
  22. Wtf are you going on about? Who is being a homer in here?
  23. Lol it's funny because Joe Brady is the very epitome of "amateurish operation". That description is pretty apt for Rhule and Brady both. I really hope the Saints do sign him, I'd love to face that predictable uninspired offense twice a season.
