  1. What feels a bit less hopeless this season, is having an OC who can actually adjust to what the defense is doing. Last season we pretty much knew we were doomed if we were down at halftime due to the inevitable Joe Brady implosion in the 3rd quarter. Our 17-7 halftime deficit would've been 38-7 after 4 straight 3-and-outs lol. Now I feel like we at least have a chance to claw our way back from behind. Definitely need the D to step it up though.
  2. The one thing I do think was a fluke last week were all the missed tackles. I mean damn, 18 missed tackles is not something you expect to persist throughout the season. Otherwise, we'll end up with almost triple the number of missed tackles this season as we did last season. Hopefully they emphasized this in practice all week, something I think Snow did mention.
  3. Not sure if you're trolling, but there are so many people who respond like this so allow me to explain something. There are three groups of people on these boards: 1) People who genuinely like Rhule and inexplicably defend him despite him being an abject failure and dragging our team through the mud. 2) People who don't "hate" Rhule (wink wink) but get triggered by a months-old 5-second clip of Rhule doing a dumb goofy laugh. 3) People who dislike Rhule but think Group 2 people are a bit unhinged and cartoonish (ironically much like the person in your GIF), as we would prefer to keep criticisms substantive. There is currently no place on these boards for us in Group 3. Like damn, am I allowed to just dislike Rhule in a healthy and mentally stable manner? Or like I legit have to feel visceral nausea and hatred and break at least 9 chairs every time I hear his voice or see his face?
  4. Also I love how a 2-month-old clip of Rhule laughing gets more engagement than a thread like this. Huddle gonna Huddle.
  5. I'm hoping we can exploit a Burns/Neal matchup but @TheCasillas have you noticed whether we tend to move Burns around on the line? It felt like he mostly went against the LT last week but I wasn't really keyed in on him.
  6. Apparently J. Watson is also a common NFL name lol. Tonight is a great night for J. Watsons in KC.
  7. I imagine tackling is something that's pretty difficult to evaluate in training camp when players aren't going all out, even during full contact. And to your #2 - Snow mentioned that they're working on fixing up the tackling in preparation for the Giants.
  8. Let's hope we're the 2021 Packers who got blown out 38-3 by the Saints in Week 1 and proceeded to go 1st in the NFC with a 13-4 record
  9. It was called because of referee incompetence. Avoid getting another flag like it by doing exactly what you did because it was a good, clean play. There you go. The thought of coaches wasting valuable practice time discussing how to avoid bad officiating is just about the most pointless endeavor I can imagine.
  10. So you agree with me....? This feels like one of those times where you're arguing with me in principle but you're actually just restating my position.
  11. If you're a fan of the film review + analysis space that these guys occupy, then you should probably check out @TheCasillas "Great offensive breakdown" thread where he does exactly that.
  12. And the Titans who allowed these 200+ yards rushing (most in the NFL Week 1) scored significantly higher on their run defense than the Giants did on their run offense lol.
  13. If we're talking about logic: bad calls on final drives get over emphasized because those are the calls we can say much more confidently that directly altered the outcome of the game. Nobody points to a missed Roughing The Passer call in the 2nd quarter as the reason a game is won/lost because 1) you often don't know whether that call will even amount to points, and 2) any bad calls early in the game can cause a ripple effect that changes how the rest of the game plays out. Maybe that missed Roughing The Passer penalty will set up a 3rd and long that will draw up a different play from the OC that will lead to a long TD, or maybe if that call was made, then instead of punting deep into enemy territory, your QB throws an INT that gets returned for a TD which is infinitely worse. Or maybe that call is made which leads to an offensive TD and then the opposing team alters their gameplan and becomes more aggressive which leads to more or less points than they would have gotten otherwise. Or maybe they call that RTP penalty but then on the next play, your team gets a 15-yard Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty that essentially makes it a wash. There are unlimited possibilities. That's why harping on a missed call early in the game doesn't happen very much because it's impossible to accurately measure its impact. But missing two huge calls on the final drive that would have been virtually impossible for the Browns to overcome to win? Yeah, that's a little more clear cut.
  14. Why would the victors and beneficiaries of bad officiating be posting threads after a win about how we need better refs I guarantee you those threads existed on the Patriots' boards. And whether people choose to talk about something or not doesn't determine its validity. The Patriots should have won that game, that's a pretty clear and uncontroversial statement. What should also be an uncontroversial statement is saying that we got screwed out of a win by the refs while also acknowledging we played poorly and were poorly coached, which were bigger issues.
  15. And all you do is post cringey GIFs and completely "obliviate" (lol) the English language. All I see is
  16. Let me get this straight…you guys are creaming yourselves over Charles Cross who allowed 2 sacks to Bradley Chubb, a guy who recorded 0 sacks in 7 games last year and a 45 PFF score for the season…while blasting Icky who allowed the same number of sacks to the best DE in the NFL who recorded 16 sacks last year and a 92 PFF score (more than DOUBLE Chubb’s)? Oh you guys…bless your hearts as we southerners say.
  17. If our o-line didn't miss their blocks, and Baker didn't miss a wide open Shi Smith and throw that interception, and Matt Rhule didn't miss half of his brain on gameday, and the refs didn't miss that intentional grounding call, and our defense didn't miss all those tackles, then we would've won by at least 795 points. (Am I doing this right?)
  18. I'm so confused about how Baker sucks but Justin Fields has proven he's a franchise QB their performances couldn't have been more similar. They both had trash first halves (Fields was MUCH worse, going 3/9 for 19 yards, an INT, and a 2.8 passer rating) but stepped it up in the second half. Either they're both trash or they're both franchise QBs if you're going off of Week 1. The difference was, Fields' defense allowed 10 points and Bakers' allowed 26 points. That's it. Maybe Fields will end up becoming a franchise QB, but based on last season + yesterday's game? Hilarious. I don't think it's any coincidence that the people already anointing him as such, are the ones who were pounding the table for him before the draft.
  19. Elflein sucking ass last season is why I used context like “ironically” and “not that I expect that to continue”. My point is more about how bad our o-line looked in general today, that I wouldn’t be surprised if Elflein graded the best in protection out of our o-line (maybe him or BC). Most of our pressure seemingly came from the edge all game. Elflein sucked last year but I don’t recall him botching a bunch of snaps like today, which is why I thought that might have been on Baker. Clearly at least one of those were on Elf though (the shotgun clip from a couple posts below yours). I just remember seeing replays on TV of fumbled snaps under center that didn’t seem like egregiously bad snaps or anything.
  20. I could be wrong, but it legit felt like Elflein ironically might have been our best o-lineman today. Not that I expect that to continue. *that’s with the assumption that the mishandled snaps were on Baker and not Elflein
  21. I think I speak for all CMC fantasy owners when I say, you shut your filthy mouth!
  22. The corners are the least of my concern on a day where we had virtually zero pass rush against a 3rd string RT and gave up over 200 yards rushing.
  23. Let’s see if Baker can do what the other two couldn’t: actually put together a game-winning drive.
  24. Uhhh…are you gay? Otherwise why should anyone care whether or not you’re personally offended by hate speech that isn’t even directed at someone like you? Imagine a white guy being like “I don’t get what’s the big deal about the n word? You can call me that and I wouldn’t even care one bit! People are too soft these days smh”.
