Do we really need to bring teammate praise into this you know how many players have praised Sam Darnold in our locker room? No doubt Howell has looked good in the preseason, I think we can probably let his performance speak for itself. -

Not only that, but specifically because Rhule is bitter and resentful that he's not Kenny Pickett (who Rhule could have drafted at 6 if he wanted to). -
My post was about the tweet. I'm saying I think it's been long enough to drop the "former 1st-round pick" designation for players like Treadwell who have bounced around the league for 6+ years.
-
I think the "former 1st-round pick" designation loses a bit of weight when we're talking about a 2016 1st-round pick lol. Draft position is pretty irrelevant after a couple years.

Strangely, Icky graded WAY higher in PFF’s preseason scoring for pass blocking (88.5) vs. run blocking (57.3). We all saw him struggle at times in pass blocking so that doesn’t quite pass the sniff test considering 88.5 is quite an elite pass blocking grade, but interesting nonetheless.

PFF Preseason Grades for oline and passers

Michael Jordan with a literal 0.0 pass blocking grade lol. -
Poor Mac Jones and that Patriots offense had another rough go against another team’s backups lol.

Our corners are in good position we just aren’t making a play on the ball.

Remember last offseason when you were on the complete other side of this argument and railing against people whining before the season started about how bad we were gonna be and how much of a bust Darnold was and how that was such a terrible trade? And your whole argument about Darnold was maybe he can be good in a new situation under better circumstances. You were pushing back on all the people whining and whining with a whole “let’s wait and see” approach. I remember you got into quite a few spats with Linville over it. Now you’re basically railing against someone arguing the exact same thing. What happened to that Mr. Scot? Did your whole Darnold trade defense make you feel foolish and now you’re permanently bitter and jaded or what? -
Maybe on Facebook bro, the cesspool of discourse that you're accustomed to. It wasn't that bad over here, not nearly as bad as Rhule. There was no "Rivera Derangement Syndrome" where people straight up fabricate things about him to be pissed about. You wouldn't know cause you supposedly weren't here during the Rivera days so I'm not sure why you keep commenting on it so confidently.

So having been presented with the full team-by-team breakdown, you're sticking with "mostly bad/rebuilding teams playing starters this week, better/more established teams did it last week"? Because....Bills/Chiefs? Ignoring all other 30 data points? I guess you're one of the disingenuous ones, oh well.
-
Haha come on dude, I literally posted the team-by-team breakdown earlier in this thread as far as who rested vs. played their starters last week. Your assessment is quite wrong btw - out of the 14 playoff teams last year, 10 of them rested their starters last week (Packers, Rams, Raiders, 49ers, Bucs, Titans, Eagles, Bengals, Cardinals, Cowboys) and 4 of them played starters (Bills, Chiefs, Patriots, Steelers). It seems like the “better/more established teams” rested them last week.
-
McVay hasn't played his starters at all this preseason nor does he ever play his starters in any preseason...including last year when they won the Super Bowl. Even when they traded for a new quarterback in the offseason who presumably needed the extra reps to gel with his new receiving corps in a real game situation. Sound familiar??
-
Teams that rested starters Week 2: Panthers, Seahawks, Saints, Packers, Rams, Broncos, Lions, Colts, Raiders, 49ers, Vikings, Buccs, Titans, Cowboys, Chargers, Eagles, Browns, Bengals, Ravens, Cardinals, Jets = 21 teams Teams that didn't rest starters Week 2: Bears, Patriots, Texans, Bills (for one series), Commanders, Chiefs, Dolphins, Steelers, Jaguars, Giants, Falcons = 11 teams "Most other teams" = 1/3 of the league? This is what happens when you just mindlessly parrot the talking points you read on the Huddle.
