Listen here you poo-slangin boomers @Asaria @1989 @WarPanthers89 "/s" is what the kids these days put at the end of a post to indicate sarcasm. I love Luvu and am very happy with the extension.

Yeah exactly, which is why I'm not interested in what the coach is saying at the podium. A coach up there saying "it was totally my fault, I take full responsibility" maybe comes off favorably for certain people who value optics, but at the end of the day, actions speak louder than words and you willfully went into the Super Bowl with that o-line. If Rivera went up there after the 2016 Super Bowl and said "you know, I should have made sure adjustments were made on the o-line and our tackles had gotten help against Miller and Ware", do we honestly think a single Huddler would have praised him for taking accountability? Naw f that, we would've been like "NO poo, FOOL!". The Bengals' second half collapse in protection was a prime example of a young inexperienced head coach unable to make adjustments to dig himself out of a bad situation. Kind of similar to us, except in our case it was an entire 4 quarters of incompetency in making adjustments rather than just one half.

That's fine I guess. I don't really personally care what a coach says up at the podium, I'm more interested in the product he puts out on the field which was the basis for my comparison between Rhule and Taylor. The only time this "railroading" is a concern to me is if it starts ruffling some feathers in the locker room and there's no indication of that happening. I mean we can agree the Bengals' o-line is pretty trash right? There seems to be a fine line on whether it's commendable for a coach to shoulder the blame or if he's just "coddling" poo players publicly. I think if Rhule went up there and talked about how he needs to do a better job as a coach of putting our o-line in a better position to succeed and maximize their strengths, we would all be collectively laughing at how delusional he is about our horrific o-line and we'd almost certainly get 19 threads talking about how this moron Rhule thinks our o-line is good enough to compete and he clearly has no intention of addressing o-line in the offseason, etc.

Maybe not, which is why I wouldn't personally make that argument. I'm just saying it's the most compelling argument a Rhule defender (or Rhule himself) could possibly make because it provides a real example of a brand new coach who failed his first two seasons who miraculously pulled off a Super Bowl appearance in his third season. If I were Rhule, I'd be pointing to the Bengals as to why a franchise QB is so important and that it's impossible to succeed as a coach without one.

Wtf why are we signing all these Jets castoffs!??!? What a pathetic move. /s

It's funny seeing people prop up Zac Taylor on here as this paragon of coaching who we all wish Rhule could be, when Taylor was Rhule until he got his franchise quarterback. Taylor took a 6-10 Bengals team to 2-14 his first season (last in AFC North), drafted Joe Burrow, took them to 4-11-1 his second season (last in AFC North), then a 10-7 Super Bowl season in his third season on the back of his franchise quarterback who came into his own this year. The irony is that Zac Taylor is the best and possibly only argument one could make for sticking with Rhule. "Hey look at Zac Taylor, he was abysmal his first two seasons in the NFL and he managed to make it to a Super Bowl in his third year...maybe there's hope for Rhule!". I mean I wouldn't personally make that argument because I want Rhule gone, but this is exactly the type of argument Rhule would try to pitch to Tepper.

Joe Brady to the Saints? Speculation about OC
MasterAwesome replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only homerism I’m seeing here is yours towards Brady. So if someone thinks Rhule sucks, Brady sucks, Tepper sucks, our entire roster/coaching staff suck, our FRANCHISE sucks…who or what exactly is the recipient of this homerism?? Nothing positive has been said about anyone connected to our organization in here. -

Wtf are you going on about? Who is being a homer in here? -
Joe Brady to the Saints? Speculation about OC

Lol it's funny because Joe Brady is the very epitome of "amateurish operation". That description is pretty apt for Rhule and Brady both. I really hope the Saints do sign him, I'd love to face that predictable uninspired offense twice a season. -

A 7.5 dunk might be good enough to take in the 3rd but I need my 1st round pick to be dunking in the high 8s. -

Meh....dunk could've been a bit cleaner. -
I thought the consensus was that we signed a pretty good ST coach in Chris Tabor? Who cares about this dude?
-
I mean that chart puts us at the 5th best defense in the NFL according to EPA/play. I'm still pretty happy with Snow overall.
-
That looks like a team that needed to fire its offensive coordinator…which we did. Now we have a new experienced guy who can actually instill a new offense instead of some nobody Rhule lackey continuing to use a bum playbook.

Joe Brady hired as Bills QB Coach
MasterAwesome replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh yeah I agree...I think that's the type of role he should've started in in the first place. Despite what some of the weird diehard Brady loyalists in here say, he was never equipped to be an OC from the start but he clearly has potential if he's groomed into it. This is the best for him in the long run for his career development and longevity but it's still a stark contrast when comparing his prospects a year ago vs. today. -

Ouch...from head coach interviews last year to getting fired and signing on as a QB coach. -
From worst record to Superbowl in 2 seasons
MasterAwesome replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
You hyping up this dude’s eye for QB talent because he drafted Joe Burrow at #1 overall?? -
Not sure how you reconcile this statement with your post questioning whether Sam Howell banged someone's wife because he doesn't like him. Would that qualify as one of those personal attacks that you would feel obligated, as a mod, to "do something about"?

What’s your pitch to Aaron Rodgers to come to Carolina
MasterAwesome replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
But none of the cap space lol. And sorry, I don't buy that their genius salary cap wizard can maneuver his way out of a projected $60 million over the cap while also taking on Rogers' massive cap hit. -
Dear David Tepper, Why is this BurnNChinn guy trying to gatekeep a Huddle thread? Am I not allowed to laugh about a thread like this existing? What do you think he's getting at? P.S. are we still on for racquetball this Thursday?

Just when I thought the Huddle had peaked in its weird, toxic, parasocial relationship with a football team: now we are writing imaginary letters to the owner.

I was fully bought into the idea that Cam was being held back by his limited exposure to the playbook and that he would only increasingly flourish and excel once he gets more experience in the offense and a full grasp of the playbook, but unfortunately his passing performance got worse as the season went on. So that idea doesn't really seem to hold much weight. His best game of the season was his first start against Washington (120.5 rating), then there was the abomination against Miami which I don't hold against him because of how laughably bad our o-line was, followed by Atlanta (70.6 rating), Buffalo (56.5 rating), and Tampa Bay (34.5 rating). That trend contradicts the notion that Cam just didn't have enough time in this offense/playbook.
-
It's not even as close to as dumb as saying this team....this dumpster fire of a team...can be a playoff team next year with Cam at QB. I know the storyline for the first half of the season was "we're just a QB away from competing", "Darnold is 99% of this team's problems", "if we had even competent QB play then we'd be a playoff team", etc...but I can't imagine anyone truly believes that at this point, after the way our season ended.
