  2. I think the reality is that maybe there aren't as many "Rhule defenders" as you imagined. The actual breakdown on this board is something like: ~25% of Huddlers who get triggered by absolutely anything and everything Rhule does and even doesn't do (I'm probably low-balling it). When I say they get triggered by things he doesn't do, I mean the people who fabricate scenarios and then get pissed at Rhule about it. These are the people who posted for months leading up to the draft about how that stupid POS Rhule is drafting Kenny Pickett and wasting our 6th overall pick. And about how dumbass Rhule is going to play PJ Walker the entire game tonight and cut Matt Corral before the regular season. And about how that clown Rhule is going to trot out Sam Darnold Week 1 to start him for a few games to intentionally wait until the boos come so he can scapegoat Darnold and then bring out Baker to rejuvenate the crowd and cool his hot seat. ~10% of Huddlers who are fans of Rhule and defend his every decision. I honestly don't even think it's that high but I'm being charitable here. *Checks math* ~65% of Huddlers who fall in between and are reserving judgment and panic about the approach and just want to see how things play out before freaking out. This group has Rhule on a very short leash and will wholeheartedly join the pitchfork mob if we start off ~0-3. This board has become so damn radicalized by a vocal minority, that the 65% "wait and see" crowd is considered delusional and are lumped in with that tiny percentage of Rhule homers.
  3. You know what will crush the rookie's spirit (and ribcage)? Starting him against the Patriots' 1st string d-line with our back-up o-line lol.
  4. I’m genuinely curious: is it acceptable for me or anyone else to simply post something like “Joe Brady was really bad”? Or does it always have to be caveated with “…oh but also Matt Rhule sucks and btw he is the one who hired Joe Brady and that was really dumb!!”. I’m still unclear on why your insistence to lump Matt Rhule in with every Joe Brady criticism is unique to Joe Brady when Rhule is responsible for the entire coaching staff and roster. Why do you include Rhule in every conversation about Brady but not in every conversation about Darnold, Teddy, our “bottom third coaching staff”, our poor o-line, Robby Anderson’s contract, how bad Elflein is, Chuba’s stone hands, etc. Rhule is ultimately responsible for all of those things, but somehow you are able to entertain (and even contribute) isolated criticisms of each one of these without lumping in Rhule every time. No, you reserve that uniquely for Brady. So playing dumb about not having a Brady Boner is pretty silly. Or is it that you only have room to nestle one person in your bosom?
  5. I have explicitly said Rhule sucks and Joe Brady sucks and your Brady-colored glasses translated that into me loving Rhule and being unfair to Brady. But nice try. I like how all of a sudden you don’t have a problem with the “Brady and Rhule both suck” stance because Linville said it. Talk about spineless…go ahead and call him a Rhule lover for acknowledging that they both suck lol I know that triggered you.
  6. CRA after probably 300-400 posts this off-season alone fighting tooth and nail to explicitly defend Brady from any criticism: “Quit acting like I love Brady” CRA to anyone who makes a pointed criticism towards Brady without even mentioning Rhule in any way: “RHULE LOVER!!!” Lol, this is like an SNL skit.
  7. But you do like genuinely love Brady lol it’s weird as hell. If what you posted above is truly your position rather than you being the spokesman for Boners For Brady, then you would also be redirecting any Darnold criticisms towards Rhule like you do with Brady. Cause your exact same reasoning applies to Darnold. Any time someone posts “Wow Darnold sucks”, you should be storming in like “Woah woah Rhule is the one who traded for Darnold, HE’S the one responsible for our POS offense”. But that’s not what you do, is it? You pile on Darnold like the rest of us, but you shield Brady of every single criticism directed towards him. Brady is uniquely coddled by you every time anyone dares say anything negative about him.
  8. How did I know CRA was gonna come sprinting into this thread to deflect all Joe Brady criticisms I will let McAdoo borrow my crystal ball.
  9. Just curious, do you praise Rhule for coming out and naming Icky as the starting LT yesterday, like you're praising these coaches for saying today that they're gonna start giving their promising rookie QBs meaningful snaps with the 1st string (at least Tomlin and Rivera)? Call me crazy, but I imagine if Rhule came out in a presser today saying "we're going to start giving Corral meaningful reps" (like these other coaches did), you'd be like "LOLOLOL it's about time this idiot figured it out". "Matt Rhule - We have a plan for our rookie LT to get up to speed and start taking meaningful reps in the preseason" So do you agree with the above statement (using your framing)? Cause I struggle to see the difference in Rhule's approach with our promising rookie LT vs. these other teams' approach with their promising rookie QBs. I get the whole Corral thing is frustrating and I'm willing to grant you that. But the Icky thing, from my perspective, is an example of you praising other coaches for something that you blasted Rhule for.
  10. TBD...if Mahomes ends up arrested for his involvement in a human trafficking scheme and we ended up wasting that conditional 2029 7th round pick, then it was definitely Rhule!!
  11. Yeah that's fine and that's the type of stuff you would incorporate into Rhule's overall evaluation as to whether you think he's a good coach or not. But you should still be able to separate your overall opinions of Rhule from your opinions on any individual action he takes. I'm not arguing that we should blindly trust Rhule, I'm saying we should be objective and levelheaded enough to not let our opinion of Rhule poison our ability to evaluate an individual move beyond simply the person making it. If Rhule traded a conditional 2029 7th round pick for Pat Mahomes, could we agree that's an awesome move? Or would we pause and say "wait a second....this is Rhule we're talking about...nothing he does makes sense! He must have gotten screwed somehow. TERRIBLE MOVE!".
  12. Come on man lol that's an odd comparison to draw between Mayfield, and the guy the very same Browns mortgaged their entire future to dump Mayfield for.
  13. The problem is that your evaluation of individual moves, competitions, etc. essentially boils down to "Rhule sucks, therefore this decision probably sucks" rather than evaluating each individual move on its own merits. You even said in another thread (and I'm paraphrasing) that if a different coach decided to have a training camp competition at LT between BC and Ekwonu, for example, that you wouldn't really have an issue with it. But since it was Rhule who did it (who you don't trust), you have decided that it's a stupid move. We can say that Rhule sucks while also analyzing whether something he did is rational and justified or not. I think we can employ some more nuanced discussion than some elementary Decision Tree dialogue that goes "Does Rhule suck?" IF YES -> "Every decision he makes is wrong and stupid". That's basically the state of the current discourse on the Huddle.
  14. I dunno man, running back is the one position that falls off an absolute cliff if you don't draft them early. It's so much easier to find WR sleepers later on since most teams operate out of 3 WR sets the majority of the time. With running backs, the handful of featured guys get snagged up within the first few rounds and then you're basically left with taking handcuffs on the off chance that a starter gets dinged up and misses time. Or draft a backup rookie running back and hope that he takes over the starting position at some point in the season. I can't recall how many years I've had random rookie running backs sitting on my bench just clogging up valuable roster spots because my running back situation was so desperate that I was banking on one of them amounting to something during the season.
  15. Our run defense was supposedly pretty stout against the Patriots the last couple days, but I'm all for improving the roster whenever the opportunity presents itself.
  16. Yeah and would be incredible value for a 4th round QB. But the bar for him fetching major picks is probably a good bit higher than "better than what the Panthers have fielded in quite a while" lol.
  17. Meh, I think his ceiling is probably Andy Dalton.
  18. Devin Jones was the CB we signed from UNC Pembroke two weeks ago. Duke Dawson we signed three weeks ago, and he played at Florida. Easy mix-up lol.
  19. I mean, same lol I just watched the highlights and looked up the box score. But when a player records the lone interception for your team, his name tends to stick out. For me at least.
  20. I'm guessing you didn't watch our preseason game.
  21. Interesting, I didn't even realize Norwell and Turner are reunited at LG and RG in Washington. I guess Ron is feeling nostalgic and trying to get the gang back together again lol. I have a feeling we might see Vernon Butler signed in Washington at some point.
  22. If you can throw in matching Fatt Fhule t-shirts, then gosh darn it I’M IN!
  23. Yeah and I doubt Rhule is like “STFU James, yeah you’ve been coaching o-line for 20 years but I’M Matt motherfkin Rhule and I AM ALL-KNOWING” which is basically the scenario you and others paint when you throw out the word “micromanager” twenty thousand times to suggest Rhule is unilaterally making the lineup decisions. Otherwise you accept the reality, like most people, that Rhule uses Campen’s input to determine the o-line. It’s a joint decision and it’s VERY unlikely that there’s real dispute between the two as far as the basics like who deserves to start, who should be playing which position, etc.
  24. Are you suggesting most teams do start late-round rookies?
