  1. If he was also an elite run-blocker then maybe, but we've got too many mouths to feed in the offense as is and he doesn't seem to fit what we want to do in the run game.
  2. It would be awkward and humbling for Huddlers to acknowledge Pickett's strong preseason after spending all offseason calling him a bust/career back-up. So I think most of them are going to pretend he doesn't exist lol.
  3. Of course the head coach is in large part responsible for development of the roster. I just think you've got a bit of tunnel vision and are excluding all other factors in whether a rookie QB is successful in the NFL. Namely, the most important factor which is said QB's individual ability and readiness. Not all rookies are created equal. Some are going to be raw and need more time to develop and require different developmental approaches depending on what their issues are (footwork, learning a pro offense, deep ball accuracy, etc.), whereas others unfortunately simply don't have what it takes and are going to fail even in spite of all the best coaching in the world. I have no idea what will ultimately become of Matt Corral and whether he is one of those QBs who just doesn't have it, or if he needs a little more time, or if he's an amazing QB who is being held back by Rhule's development. I just think it's a bit silly to be like "See! There are other QBs doing well in the preseason, therefore obviously Rhule is ruining Matt Corral". You seem to view every individual prospect as an identical ball of clay to be molded by the coaching staff. Give Matt Rhule a rookie Cam Newton or Russel Wilson and give Andy Reid or Vince Lombardi a rookie Jimmy Clausen and I'm fairly sure Rhule's QB can outperform their Clausen lol.
  4. Ironically I think this snapshot exposes the flaws in your argument. Yes Rhule is at the bottom where he belongs, but if the head coach is directly and unilaterally responsible for rookie QB performance (which you've made pretty clear is your stance), then that would make your head coach rankings look like: 1. Mike Tomlin 2. Mike McDaniel 3. Arthur Smith 4. Kyle Shanahan 5. Mike Vrabel 6. Bill Belichick 7. Ron Rivera 8. Matt Rhule
  5. “It is what it is. And for me right now, I’m going to do everything that I can to support Baker and get him ready to play…”. /thread That was either an incredibly disingenuous misinterpretation of a tweet, or you have a woeful lack of critical thinking ability.
  6. I can only assume you don't understand what the word "projection" means cause that literally made zero sense. How many people think Rhule is dumb and a bad coach and makes horrible decisions? Probably >85% of these boards. How many people predicted Matt Rhule was going to start Sam Darnold Week 1? Just you. It's okay to admit you have silly takes sometimes lol. Even your like-minded compatriots didn't wanna touch that one.
  7. Again, it sounds like the only person the "pointless QB battle" fooled was you. I can think Matt Rhule makes questionable decisions and still think that Matt Rhule isn't going to cut Brian Burns tomorrow. But somehow I wouldn't be surprised if you started making that claim lol.
  8. Yeah it was so obvious and yet you still somehow got it wrong.
  9. Poor CRA is now 0 for 48 in his offseason predictions.
  10. Lol huh? How about you start by, as a moderator, outlining which forms of whining is acceptable. Best I can tell based on your behavior in this thread: -Whining about the team = OK. -Whining about other people whining = Not OK. -Whining about other people whining about other people = OK. Also, you can strawman all you want about "optimistic" people being intolerant of opposing viewpoints. But just use your imagination to envision a thread along the lines of "I still believe in Rhule" or "Darnold could still be a good starting QB in this league" and then imagine how many people on your side of the aisle would jump in and absolutely blast the OP. Not the substance of what the OP is saying, but the OP himself. And that's your problem as a moderator: this whole toxic culture you've sat by and allowed to fester is totally a "both sides" thing, and yet you have explicitly drawn a line in the sand to coddle one side and villainize the other.
  11. Or maybe we just want you to "stay in your lane" and do a little moderation instead of lashing out and complaining about something you are uniquely positioned to do something about.
  12. Kyler is the highest paid OC in league history.
  13. Were people seriously claiming every other team is treating Week 2 like the dress rehearsal? By my estimation from checking box scores, it looks like maybe 6-8 teams actually played their starting QB lol.
  14. Oh yeah I totally agree, I was only providing him the reports about Neal struggling.
  15. https://giantswire.usatoday.com/2022/08/19/new-york-giants-evan-neal-named-one-nfl-most-disappointing-rookies-so-far/ https://www.bigblueview.com/2022/8/4/23291780/looking-at-evan-neals-early-struggles-more-from-giants-offensive-line
  16. I think the reality is that maybe there aren't as many "Rhule defenders" as you imagined. The actual breakdown on this board is something like: ~25% of Huddlers who get triggered by absolutely anything and everything Rhule does and even doesn't do (I'm probably low-balling it). When I say they get triggered by things he doesn't do, I mean the people who fabricate scenarios and then get pissed at Rhule about it. These are the people who posted for months leading up to the draft about how that stupid POS Rhule is drafting Kenny Pickett and wasting our 6th overall pick. And about how dumbass Rhule is going to play PJ Walker the entire game tonight and cut Matt Corral before the regular season. And about how that clown Rhule is going to trot out Sam Darnold Week 1 to start him for a few games to intentionally wait until the boos come so he can scapegoat Darnold and then bring out Baker to rejuvenate the crowd and cool his hot seat. ~10% of Huddlers who are fans of Rhule and defend his every decision. I honestly don't even think it's that high but I'm being charitable here. *Checks math* ~65% of Huddlers who fall in between and are reserving judgment and panic about the approach and just want to see how things play out before freaking out. This group has Rhule on a very short leash and will wholeheartedly join the pitchfork mob if we start off ~0-3. This board has become so damn radicalized by a vocal minority, that the 65% "wait and see" crowd is considered delusional and are lumped in with that tiny percentage of Rhule homers.
  17. You know what will crush the rookie's spirit (and ribcage)? Starting him against the Patriots' 1st string d-line with our back-up o-line lol.
  18. I’m genuinely curious: is it acceptable for me or anyone else to simply post something like “Joe Brady was really bad”? Or does it always have to be caveated with “…oh but also Matt Rhule sucks and btw he is the one who hired Joe Brady and that was really dumb!!”. I’m still unclear on why your insistence to lump Matt Rhule in with every Joe Brady criticism is unique to Joe Brady when Rhule is responsible for the entire coaching staff and roster. Why do you include Rhule in every conversation about Brady but not in every conversation about Darnold, Teddy, our “bottom third coaching staff”, our poor o-line, Robby Anderson’s contract, how bad Elflein is, Chuba’s stone hands, etc. Rhule is ultimately responsible for all of those things, but somehow you are able to entertain (and even contribute) isolated criticisms of each one of these without lumping in Rhule every time. No, you reserve that uniquely for Brady. So playing dumb about not having a Brady Boner is pretty silly. Or is it that you only have room to nestle one person in your bosom?
  19. I have explicitly said Rhule sucks and Joe Brady sucks and your Brady-colored glasses translated that into me loving Rhule and being unfair to Brady. But nice try. I like how all of a sudden you don’t have a problem with the “Brady and Rhule both suck” stance because Linville said it. Talk about spineless…go ahead and call him a Rhule lover for acknowledging that they both suck lol I know that triggered you.
  20. CRA after probably 300-400 posts this off-season alone fighting tooth and nail to explicitly defend Brady from any criticism: “Quit acting like I love Brady” CRA to anyone who makes a pointed criticism towards Brady without even mentioning Rhule in any way: “RHULE LOVER!!!” Lol, this is like an SNL skit.
  21. But you do like genuinely love Brady lol it’s weird as hell. If what you posted above is truly your position rather than you being the spokesman for Boners For Brady, then you would also be redirecting any Darnold criticisms towards Rhule like you do with Brady. Cause your exact same reasoning applies to Darnold. Any time someone posts “Wow Darnold sucks”, you should be storming in like “Woah woah Rhule is the one who traded for Darnold, HE’S the one responsible for our POS offense”. But that’s not what you do, is it? You pile on Darnold like the rest of us, but you shield Brady of every single criticism directed towards him. Brady is uniquely coddled by you every time anyone dares say anything negative about him.
  22. How did I know CRA was gonna come sprinting into this thread to deflect all Joe Brady criticisms I will let McAdoo borrow my crystal ball.
