  1. Josh Norris = Huddle poster confirmed lol.
  2. If you ignore all of Chubb and Hunt's broken tackles in Week 1 where they individually made something happen, we'd probably have allowed like 60 yards rushing lol. But it doesn't work that way.
  3. Definitely the Darnold trade. People in here can play the revisionism game and be all "I NEVER wanted Rhule here and I have no idea what Tepper saw in him when he was hired!" but these were the same people in here last offseason praising Rhule after Year 1. People forget, but opinion of Rhule was largely favorable after his first year despite going 5-11. But last year the wheels fell off the wagon largely due to the Darnold trade which not only destroyed our season, but deprived us of significant draft capital this year. And when your team is struggling due to the quarterback you heavily invested in to lead the team, then all your other glaring coaching errors get moved to the forefront and are more easily scrutinized.
  4. In other words, Fields spoke his true thoughts in the moment about fans booing and then walked it back after facing backlash. Realizing "his words weren't good" is irrelevant, it's about this type of dismissive mentality towards fans. So much for the Cam comparisons.
  5. I think this is the guy we were hoping Joe Brady was. -"Mom, can we have Mike McDaniel?" -"We have Mike McDaniel at home" Mike McDaniel at home:
  6. Have we been blitzing Chinn off the edge at all in these first two games? I seem to recall him doing that very well in his first season or two. Or at least he seems to have the skill set to excel at that (big, strong, fast, can shed blocks).
  7. His face + his hand on the dude's chest + him getting showered in Gatorade just all comes together so hilariously erotic lol. It just needs the Brazzers logo. But yeah, if you can get almost 500 yards, 6 TDs, and 42 points out of Tua based on how he has looked the last two seasons, then you've earned my respect.
  8. Our coaching staff seems to over-emphasize versatility to the detriment of the team and the players themselves. Like just because a player is able to play another position decently well, doesn't mean you need to give them X number of snaps a game at that position to utilize that versatility. Just put them where they excel and leave them there. I'd like to think Parsons probably would have been used a good bit to rush the passer, but we almost definitely would've tried to get too cute with him and pull him back and play him in coverage and in the box as a stand-up LBer just because "versatility". I seriously doubt he'd be the game-changer he is with the Cowboys.
  9. Interesting, did you deliberately leave Robby out, as in you would bench him in favor of these other 4-5 receivers? Or did you just accidentally overlook him? Also, any insights on Tremble this week or was he not utilized much against the Giants? I admit I didn't really see him on the screen much but not sure if I just overlooked him or if he was utilized mostly as a blocker where he wouldn't stand out to a casual fan.
  10. Best content on the Huddle, hands down. Sounds like a healthy combination of coaching ineptitude and poor player execution. There seem to be a million minor errors here and there where if just one more thing went our way (i.e. an o-lineman holding his block for one more second, or Baker seeing a wide open receiver, or a drop on a pass that could easily have otherwise been a TD, or one of the missed holding calls are made, etc.), then we could be looking at 2-0 instead of 0-2. With better coaching and scheming on the offensive and defensive side, we would be better positioned to overcome more of these errors, which we will need to do when we play the better teams on our schedule. So what's your overall feel on Shi? You said he was in over his head on Sunday, but he also seems to get open fairly well (at least Week 1) and draws a lot of illegal contact by DBs, despite it not being called by officials. Does he seem like a starting caliber slot receiver to you so far? Or are you ready to see what someone like TMJ or Higgins can do as our WR3 while Shi develops a bit more from the bench? Also, you mentioned Corbett showed good athleticism on some of the pulling run plays but also said further on that he's not a good pulling guard. Does it seem to be mostly mental with him? Like he doesn't engage the right defender on these run plays? Or he's too weak physically to where he's getting manhandled?
  11. @TheCasillas reviewed the All-22 for Week 1 against the Browns and his evaluation was that WRs were getting consistently open all game (DJ Moore and Shi Smith in particular, IIRC). We're all eagerly awaiting his analysis of the Week 2 tape (*nudge nudge*).
  12. Saw this tweet earlier. Wasn't gonna make a thread on it, but this seems like an appropriate place to drop it.
  13. Maybe you should ask the Waldo from 2 years ago lol. (Sorry to inadvertently put you on blast @OldhamA)
  14. There was a swarm of people who pushed back any time anyone complained about the refs in Week 1, saying there was a slew of bigger reasons as to why we lost. I'd say that surely applies here too with Horn. As far as reasons why we're 0-2, I'd put Horn very close to the bottom of that list.
  15. What are you talking about dude how did you get a “this place is so negative!” vibe from my post? I’m saying why would people who dislike negativity logically jump onto the boards to engage during peak negativity (i.e. right after a loss or in the middle of a game where we’re sucking)? I’m not complaining about it being peak negativity after a loss, of course it will naturally be. And the comment about poundaway was specifically about Kungfoo’s point about “fairweather fans” being MIA from the Huddle like they’re fake fans for not being here, when the dude was literally AT THE GAME which is why he wasn’t posting . Not sure why you are ranting about his entire character arc like that had anything to do with what I was saying. Relax, Frankie. Speaking of character arcs, I thought you were developing into more of an anti-hero but don’t slip back into your old ways now. Only one of us is outraged here.
  16. FWIW, here are the PFF scores on defense for the season (I had to google them one at a time lol): Derrick Brown: 77.0 Bravvion Roy: 65.7 Matt Ioaniddis: 57.2 Marquan McCall: ? (not enough snaps to qualify) Yetur Gross-Matos: 53.2 Brian Burns: 59.8 Marquis Haynes: 64.8 Henry Anderson: 70.1 Phil Hoskins: 28.4 Shaq Thompson: 49.4 Frankie Luvu: 65.3 Damien Wilson: 46.5 Cory Littleton: 59.8 Xavier Woods: 76.7 Jeremy Chinn: 54.1 Myles Hartsfield: 77.3 CJ Henderson: 62.1 Jaycee Horn: 61.4 Donte Jackson: 64.4 Keith Taylor: 60.3 Based on PFF's grading scale below, looks like we have a bunch of back-up caliber players at best, aside from just Derrick Brown, Myles Hartsfield, Xavier Woods, and Henry Anderson who are all just serviceable starters.
  17. The Lions' clip is literally every locker room after a win lol. I guarantee ours would look just like that if we could ever win a game.
  18. Are we saying your Huddle posting activity is a measure of your Panthers' fandom? I remember poundaway getting called out by frank during the first half of Week 1 for being MIA while he was literally at the game lol. I'm one of those who "whines about negativity" (if we're being overly reductive) and I sure as hell don't want to jump on here during the peak of negativity during/after a loss lol. That's why I historically tend to stay away from Gameday threads. I don't think there is anything remotely contradictory about that; in fact, it's quite consistent. I mean, y'all always tell people like us to "just stay away from the boards if it's too negative for you" but then we still get ridiculed for doing just that lol. It's a lose-lose.
  19. I could rationalize doing this on a handful of plays here and there to disguise different blitzes and confuse the offense, IF you have a formidable pass rush elsewhere on your d-line. But dropping your only proven pass rusher into coverage 15 times?? F that.
  20. The highlight of the game for me was McCall's shirt riding up and seeing his big ole floppy belly hanging out. Then like 2 plays later, him busting through for a TFL on the RB. I'd love for him to bust out a Monty Mole celebration on his next big play (IYKYK).
  21. That seems to line up with my viewing of the game. I think someone nailed it in another thread - Baker needs to learn to step up in the pocket instead of bailing laterally any time pressure comes from the edge. That's something you would expect a rookie QB to struggle with, not a 5th year vet. And most of our pressure seems to come from simply being outnumbered, when they send 6-7 players on a blitz. That's when we need to get better at utilizing hot reads, which Baker did a couple times (to Ricci and Ian Thomas) but it needs to be more consistent. I'd put that on coaching. For the most part though, it seems like our o-line is doing well in one-on-one matchups. It really felt like when the Giants rushed 4-5, we had a relatively huge amount of time in the pocket compared to what I'm used to seeing from a Panthers o-line. But again, in clean pockets when there was no pressure, I would see Baker rushing and forcing passes instead of going through reads.
  22. Every time I tune into the Huddle and read all the commotion about Justin “Franchise QB” Fields, I just KNOW I’m about to stumble upon another horrid stat line. And lo and behold, a combined 90 yards and 1 TD
