If we do, it will be for a project. Who lacks size, has an injury history, or somehow otherwise causes everyone else to scratch their head while we would take them that high, much less add trade capital to the deal

TOO BAD WE HAD TO BE THE ONES TO PROVE ANALYTICS / THE S2 TEST WAS A SHAM Analytics my help in hedge fund management but not the best way to evaluate talent. Maybe someone could have watched Stroud vs Georgia and noticed the clear intangibles. I think Bryce will be better than it appears now, but it appears that Stroud will break the mold of poor USU QB play. COACHING AND SCHEME MATTER – CAN’T OVERCOME POOR TALENT I think we have some impressive people on our staff. It would be difficult for anyone to make a case that we have assembled good talent on the field. We draft poorly and make terrible trades. Could Shanahan/McDaniel level play calling win with this talent? Maybe a bit more but not past the mediocrity level we are pledged to overcome. DEFENSE DESRVES MORE CREDIT We are tied for last in points allowed but we just saw a game where the other team’s defense scored more than their offense. We are 8th in total yards allowed / 5th in passing yards. Not trying to say we are elite, but with the key injuries on defense, they have held up admirably. Many of the stats they have given up are after our offense fails to take any time off the clock or add any momentum to the effort. TEPPER OWNS THE TEAM AND THE RESULTS In many lines of management they say that after 3 years the problems you have are your responsibility – you’ve had time to address and correct them. I’m not sure we will ever know what level of interference there may be but the owner has hired / allowed the hire of all the people that have given us the results we have. PREPARE FOR MORE “AWAY” GAMES AT BOA I’ll be a Panther fan for life. But for those who get upset at fans who sell their tickets, I wonder how many of them keep going to a bad restaurant just because of loyalty. Do they keep seeing a doctor who doesn’t help their health outlook? Do they call back the same contractor who messed up the last job? If the organization was showing signs of caring about the product and process, it would be a different case. Keeping a GM who is demonstrably among the worst in his field doesn’t express an awareness of how bad the situation is.

O Line has been defrauding coaches, claiming they could periodically and randomly get between a rusher and our quarterback to allow a millisecond to throw the ball. Why not add other fraudsters?
-
Nicole, that is
-
Reich must have hired someone to yell at them during halftime.
-
Luckily, we have an elite processor at QB. He almost instantly knew he'd thrown a pick six.
-
Young ends the half with a sack by a ghost runner on third
-
I think I know why we traded up for DJ Johnson. He is really confusing the O Line. Every time they double team him at leat one of the two blockers (sometimes both) are wondering "why am I here blocking a backwards blitzing lineman?" It's causing them to rethink their entire offensive game plan.
-
You can try 57 yard field goals when you know the worst that could happen ids the opposing offense going backward more slowly than normal
-
Has this announcer gotten anyone's name right? I realize we are the worst game assignment but he couldn't get Smith or Jones now
-
Not sure how good this news is - Vegas puts a defensice guy in as interin coach and he cuts Long in one of his first moves.
-
Even if we got a 5th, it's still our front office drafting. That has to be factored into any scenario for draft picks.
-
His average yards per catch just over half of the real WR#88 - Karl Hankton. Hankton also had 64 tackles and although I can't prove it, he likely cleaned the locker room and drove the team bus.
-
I think we could probably ship him to the Dolphins for Chosen Anderson . . . that deal would likely make Panther fans be willing to hang onto TMJ.

You can hug me as hard as you need - now I know how to fall down without going on IR

Mr “I won’t stand up for Mediocrity” observes practice today
RevJ replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
1. He's not settling for mediocrity - we're well below that. 2. He'll fire Reich and replace him with Evero and we'll have dramatic turnaround - only to have a different coach, i.e. offensive genius be given the job next year. -
Kyle Bailey says Tepper isnt happy, wants changes now.

I think you left out "make sure not to gain any separation" . . . -
PFF grades after week 3 (not for the faint of heart)
RevJ replied to Cdparr7's topic in Carolina Panthers
How does Zavala, (or anyboby for that matter), get a goose egg for pass blocking? You'd havde to think that a palyer would eventually accidentally get in the way of a rusher for a play or two a game. -

So, our last 2 picks - both in the top six for all available draft prospects - are in the bottom six of the worst team in the league. This is why we should quit thinking about trading because when we have good draft position we prove we don't draft well. -
What are your best ideas for trade packages to help this team?
RevJ replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
The worst part about him trading for picks is that he'll be the one making the picks. -
Just came downstairs to a gigantic pile of metaphor

Sorry to hear about your wife. Prayers for her healing and recovery and a day and time where a normal life will be realized as a blessing to enjoy. Thankful that your family has you to lead through this time. Not sure there could be a better story to describe how it feels to follow this team. The only difference is if it was a perfect metaphor your dog would have given you the mouthful of poo grin and like Reich would have said - "I'm so close to going outside". . . -
I think you left out "landscape expert mode"
-
Saying a pick is a bust isn't necessarily saying the player is a bust. Horn may have productive years in his NFL future. At this point, almost any of the handful of picks before or after him would represent more value to the team/

Some positive and critical thoughts on yesterdays game
RevJ replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agree with most of the summary. Only exception is that if the Falcons understood we couldn't go deep, then we should have known as well. If BY is an elite processor, would he not have picked up on that - at least after he thre the first interception? When I say the Jets DB get 3 picks, my first thought was I was glad our QB learned after 2 by the same guy. Difference was the Jets DB picked his in some variety of settings - Bryce threw almost identical INT. -
All Young and Bell need is for us to: 1 sign/have Jordan play 2 Put Gross-Matos in more often That will fill a spot in the cellar on each side of the ball and give them a shot to get out of bottom 3.
