  1. They didn’t give up a ton. It was a fairly reasonable trade. but yeah it not about position. It’s more about evaluation. We see it time and time again, the best players don’t end up going top 5.
  2. Ughhhhh this silly line of thinking again… Josh allen went 7th, Mahommes went 10th while Baker and Sam went 1 and 3 overall. draft position doesn’t guarantee you a better prospect. Its more about good scouting and a good situation for them to land it.
  3. Bottom line is if there’s a qb you really really like you go get him picks be damned. imagine if Rhule had listened to Marty Hurney and traded up for Herbert?
  4. But the Stafford trade did work. Can’t say “if It didn’t” to justify your point. Acquiring Josh Allen took two trades that included their franchise LT and two first round picks for the bills to move up from pick 21 to pick 7 to draft Josh Allen. Saying it wasn’t a haul isn’t telling the entire story.
  5. it does work, it’s has worked and it can work again. Josh Allen and Pat Mahommes both drafted as a result of trades. Stafford won the rams a super bowl and we all know how he got there. it’s not the trades that are the issue… it’s the talent evaluators and the situations the players wind up in.
  6. The idea that losing games to move up in the draft is the only way to win later is such a brain dead line of thinking. the best qb in the game was drafted 10th overall by a team that went 12-4 the previous year and traded up to get him. Always win.

  8. heard a lot of people saying that.
  9. Wilks is the dude. Get him a legit oc, Frank Reich, and trade up to draft a qb. No need to over think this. He has the locker room. He’s the guy.
  10. I bet he asked for it in hopes of latching on to a qb needy team that is in the hunt. He prob sucks in the locker room too.
  11. Money is a bad a analog for draft picks. You can buy all kinds of things with money but draft picks only hold value for few select things involving a football team.
  12. The true grade will be based on what they do with the draft picks. If we wind up with a buncha crap players its a fail... land 2 starters or 1 pro bowl stud and its a home run.
  13. Panthers have all the leverage in the burn situation. He’s not gonna play 2 years under the tag.
  14. Trade up for a QB the staff* really likes. This is the year to do it. *hopefully its a new staff
  15. Low investment for us. Why jettison him at this point? Cause he for burnt playing the toughest position in football? Doesn’t make sense.
  16. He’s a gadget player and they called play for him which prob caught the saints off guard. I doubt he a gonna be a world beater on a weekly basis. It was actually a good call by the staff for once. No need to reverse engineer this to discredit them. They make enough mistakes on their own.
  17. The question isn’t would they do it, it’s why would Carolina do that?
