Ojulari the edge player or Avila from TCU. We need a premium guard until Corbet comes back then you can move BC to swing tackle . Brady played great at guard but Avila would create running lanes and protection from huge interior defensive tackles.

Owner of S2 test on scores being leaked..
Beast_3000 replied to PanthersGOATFan336's topic in Carolina Panthers
He literally speaks directly to the CJ Stroud leaked score without saying his name and says it’s baloney. We are getting Bryce and I’m happy about that but the efforts to try to wish failure on a young man or laugh at the phony scores out there are beneath us. We are fighting internally amongst ourselves over guys that wish us no harm. They only want to live out their dreams as pro athletes. I hope Bryce turns out to be the best of the bunch by leaps and bounds but I wish the other QB prospects successful careers. Well…..okay careers if they end up in the NFC South. -

I’m glad we didn’t trade with Arizona at 3. You think it’s been an insane mad house lately. Imagine we secured the pick at 3 with the question marks and drop off in quarterback intangibles. Excuse my use of the phrase but the huddle would have gone absolutely Ape$h#t !! -
Appreciate the break from the insanity posts.

Fitterer, Morgan, and the Brass having pressers tomorrow?
Beast_3000 replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah bro I was in the group that wanted Stroud but anyone that is good at reading people can obviously see Fitt has an awful poker game. It was almost as if he forgot to be evasive. It happened about 3 times throughout the presser. I’m not Ms.Cleo but the pick seems to be Bryce. -
Yep ditto your thoughts above are my thoughts. Rooting for both guys as long as Atlanta doesn’t pick up one of the two. I realize Bryce is amazing. Is he head and shoulders above Stroud ? I’m not sure about that. I have definitely seen enough tape to feel comfortable about Bryce’s size because I’m almost convinced he has eyes in the back of his head. His pocket presence and awareness is that good. My only concern now is his ability to play under center effectively. For a number 1 pick you have to be effective in different pro sets. Shotgun 95% of the time makes our offense less effective. I guess we will see.

Bryce Young Film Breakdown Megathread
Beast_3000 replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I felt the same way until this week, when I started accepting what the experts are projecting with our 1st pick. Bryce looks like the guy. I spent a lot of time researching him this week. Despite the size limitations I came away impressed. Found a pass that went 65 to 66 yards in the air. I also saw how he uses his small frame to avoid hits and get down. He reminds me of Warrick Dunn, in that regard. Give him a chance bro, I think he’s coming to Charlotte whether we like it or not. I was impressed and I think he’s the best QB in the draft. Here’s to hoping that translates. -
Is it time to take the Falcons seriously?
Beast_3000 replied to Ivory Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Really ? The Falcons offensive line play improved in 2022 in a very similar fashion as the Panthers. The Falcons skill position group has improved too. Drake London and Kyle Pitts catching passes with a 1k rookie running back (Tyler Alligier ) coming back with more confidence and experience in his 2nd year. Cordalle Patterson is a good 3rd down back. AJ Terrell and Okudah at corner with Bates roaming at Safety. Improved pass rush. They have a top 10 pick at their disposal for more talent too, while we use our top resource on our future QB. I truly believe we are underestimating them if we think they won’t be a challenge. I think the Saints are going to fall on their face, while the Falcons improve and scare us for the better part of the season. -
Panthers sign wide receiver Damiere Byrd
Beast_3000 replied to Jackie Lee's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed I didn’t want to say it and get in a debate with anyone but I agree 100% -
Thank you. Very well said and simplified.
-
Yeah I think it’s fair to say most of us aren’t worried about joint injuries that’s why I didn’t think the analysis closely fit the concerns with Bryce. Shoulder injuries are a concern and damage from blunt force. Also parts of your debate regarding Aaron Donald and Bryce in a head on collision still leaves some questions. You mentioned rib issues that’s exactly what we dont want. QB’s lose effectiveness and accuracy with rib injuries and potentially games.
-
Your questions raised (quoted) are exactly why it’s questionable to gamble on a billion dollar decision. His little head and every part of his body will snap back like we’ve never seen before.

-
Did you look at the physics article on force on a smaller object above ? That’s the baseline. Physics. A Yukon hitting a Prius vs a Yukon hitting an Explorer. Other than that there is nothing to predict what will happen to Bryce at 190 pounds.
-
@rayzor this is the closest we have to Young’s stature being a problem. The ops statistical information is relevant to a certain extent, but this article on G-Force is a better example of why I’m concerned.
-
I agree with most of your take in the previous post about height. It’s a concern not being able to see over the line unless in Shotgun. It limits your offense. There’s no evidence to support Bryce getting hurt because he will be the first of his stature in the modern NFL. Saying Bryce’s weight and slight stature is not a problem based on the premise that there isn’t any evidence does not fit here. It’s never been done, that’s why there isn’t evidence.

Which player will benefit the most in the 3-4 Defense
Beast_3000 replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
You hit it on the head. If Brian Burns were in a 3-4 when he turned pro he would have at least three 10 sack seasons by now. He gained weight and filled out his frame over time to better suffice as a 4-3 end, but let’s be honest, it’s always been difficult for him against the run. He’s no longer out of position and will not have to line up against 310 pound offensive tackles on every play. -
A Different Perspective on the Young vs Stroud Decision
Beast_3000 replied to Matthias's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree Mahomes light means 85% of Patrick M. at best. Let me get the possibility of 100% of a Joe Burrow(Stroud) vs the possibility of 85% of Mahomes(Young). Besides if Young extends plays like Mahomes he is going to get hit. That’s a fact. There is no way a player evades NFL defenders like Bryce evaded college defenders without occasionally getting lit up. I have seen Josh Allen and Mahomes both take big shots. You can’t bet on 10 to 15 years at the highest level expecting not to get lit up. You can’t realistically even expect that to happen for 3 years. I also understand Young needs the least amount of adjustment time and will need very little coaching to adjust to the NFL. Why did Tepper invest all that money in an All-Star coaching staff if they dont have to develop the rookie QB? It literally makes no sense. Pick the player without longevity concerns and the highest potential ceiling. That’s Stroud. -
Thank you and his better days are behind him. Just say no.
-
I get the conversation you want to discuss, but the article talks primarily about lower body injuries due to weight. That’s not what analyst and GM’s are concerned with when discussing Bryce Young. Even the statistics gathered in this article have no direct correlation to a quarterbacks like Young. How can it possibly discuss Young when he will be the first of his size? He’s elusive but what happens when Nick Bosa or Bobby Wagner blind sides him. I know there are rules to protect QB’s against body weight but what happens when a 300 pound man lands on Bryce? Or better yet he gets closed in a pocket where he can not escape and a 300 pound lineman possibly steps on his ankle or any part of his lower leg??? Do you trust him to avoid body weight for maybe 5 years? I’m not even talking about the next 15 years that we want for a franchise QB drafted 1 overall. I love the player I just dont think you gamble with a billion dollar decision. What’s the point of spending millions getting offensive minded coaches if they aren’t willing to take the safer pick Stroud and develop him ? Strouds doesn’t have any glaring weaknesses and seems like he has room to grow.
-
Cocky is good and probably needed as an elite player. A hole not so much. That was Geno Smith coming out of West Virginia. Jets players barest wanted to play with him. He ended up growing.
-
Yeah I can’t lie I see it too. Hopefully we’re wrong because he’s the guy I want. I just can’t see risking all that draft capital for a QB that seems like he may break (Bryce).
