  1. I had to let the Corral love go…and he was an injured 3rd rounder. It’s gonna take a lot longer for the Bryce defenders to see the light.
  2. I thought about it, got sad… Then because I hate myself, I did this but with Cam. Now I’m sadder…why do I do this to myself?
  3. It’s funny, because a this point I just assume Corral quit football. Not getting a sniff of a chance…with how bad Bruce looks… I don’t blame him for quitting.
  4. No one knows how Wilks would have done. He’s not Ron Rivera. Ron Rivera is Ron Rivera. What we know is that he became interim of a laughing stock of a team, instantly made them respectable (with no QB), and now we have returned to laughing stock status. None of us know Wilks personally (or Ron for that matter) so there’s just a lot of assuming going on. I get that people want the next stud offensive coach, but good luck to them trying to light up the league with no QB. Wilks did pretty good (and ran the appropriate scheme imo) for a Sam Darnold led offense.
  5. Frank seems like a good guy. It wouldn’t shock me if he, at the end of his road, wants all the stink on him instead of Brown, who’s at the beginning of his road. Sure it might be a control thing, but I just have a hunch it isn’t.
  6. I always wondered what Bengals fans in the 90’s felt like. Dear god.
  7. A lot of Wilks love sprinkled throughout the huddle. Good to see. He earned the job, but people didn’t like winning the way he was winning games. McVay’s don’t grow on trees, and neither do franchise QB’s. Wilks showed how you win with McAdoo and a mediocre QB (which most QB’s are btw). Football isn’t that complicated. You will win games if you control the clock and defend. There’s maybe 5 QB’s I’d trust to throw it 40+ times a game, and you have to get mad lucky to land one of those guys.
  8. I’ll take the next front office seriously if they correctly “Rosen” Bryce. No sense waiting 2-3 years for a guy without NFL physical ability to develop.
  9. If you fully embrace the suck, it’s hilarious. Be one with the suck.
  10. Bryce would be bigger (lol) imo. Russell had no physical limitations. Actually his only physical problem may be that he was too big. Terrible pick, but at least he had a cannon and wind couldn’t sack him.
  11. He really does. Good reference. If anything it’s on par with with Jakes arm post surgery, and that essentially ended Jake as a starter.
  12. Hahahahahaha Just accept how bad things are until shown otherwise. It’s much easier that way. Embrace the poverty.
  13. Media treatment during Cam’s career vs. Bryce so far is wild. Kid is being coddled by everyone.
  14. I agree. The whole damn team performed just fine when Wilks had them doing things they are good at. He was a “defense coach” and wasn’t a sexy enough name, so his work was overlooked. Reich and co, (I assume mainly Reich) are forcing players to scheme instead of tailoring scheme to player. That’s bad coach red flag all day long. Let’s get a better staff or a better HC with a vision.
  15. He can’t run the current scheme though.
  16. Which reminds me: everyone likes to call out Chris Simms on his misses, but he definitely appears correct on his Stroud/Young take.
  17. Definitely not saying he was the only one, but ideas spread, then those who choose to adopt those ideas mentally own them as “theirs” and defend them. Sometimes in obvious ways. Sometimes in slick ways. “Texans wanted Young but they will never admit it” is a pointless thing to say, and comes off like saying “see it wasn’t just me, everyone else too.” It softens the feeling of “being wrong.” An ego massaging trick.
  18. So many highly regarded young and old coaches on this staff…and this is what we get? How could they be this bad? Too many cooks in the kitchen? Is one guy (perhaps Reich) limiting everyone else? Stunning. Has there been a bigger contrast between expectation and reality in team history?
  19. Perhaps he’s saving face because he liked Bryce…
  20. And it’s a team sport, of course, and it takes a team to perform well, but if people can’t see that Stroud is the difference and that he is ELEVATING his teammates…I don’t know what to tell you.
  21. I just love how narratives change over time. No one “knows” anything and just puts together educated guesses into stories, which get pushed as “reality.” Pre (and during) the draft/off-season, the Texans were poo on. They’ve been a laughing stock since the Watson scandal. Dumpster fire. Good story with the new HC, but man it was seen as a tough spot for a rookie to walk into a team devoid of talent with a rookie HC and poo O-line. We were the perfect place for the rookie QB, Vet staff, solid defense that just needed help from the offense, young offensive mind paired with an experienced one, popular QB coach, and Moore being traded was downplayed like hell. Now? Narrative is we suck, no talent, Texans actually are well built and well coached, with talented skill players surrounding Stroud. It just comes off as cope for Bryce, with Stroud not getting enough credit. I’m bitter now, so perhaps this is my lens of bias reading it this way, but I see a lot of this stuff as saving face.
  22. Icky is huge, but remember that he’s basically a kid. Very young man. Lets not pick apart every word that comes out of his mouth.
  23. There could be value in convincing yourself you are watching a parody of doodoo football (think Sharknado-ish) and laugh at how impressively ass it is. A Guinness or two would assist with that.
  24. The only plus side to being shitty is diving into the youth of the roster and seeing development/growth and periodic flashes. That can be fun. But so often you have stubborn coaches who trot out the same vets for the sake of it. poo is lame and unbearable. This is John Fox lame duck season status at least, but somehow this feels even worse because of the peak hype last off-season, contrasted with whatever the fug we see each Sunday.
  25. I agree. Theilen aside, now is the time to see what you have in guys who haven’t played thus far. I’d bench/reduce Chark’s snaps first. He’s not here next year. No point. Make Tremble TE1, and use Sullivan more. Force the ball to TMJ for a couple games and sink or swim time. If he shows he can’t do it, move on for good. All the bottom WR’s need snaps. See what we have. Sanders shouldn’t see the field anymore. Blackshear/Cohen get all his touches. It’s time for young guy evaluation…stop waisting PT on vets who aren’t performing.
