Size. Cannon. “Pure pocket passer” physically lol. Let’s call it the Drew Bledsoe physique.
-
So is Eason a 1st round physically, 6th round mentally type of guy?
-
I hope Baker never sees the field again. He had his chance.
-
I will say this. PJ does play better when he comes in starting vs. trying to chuck the ball after being inserted late game, down multiple scores. He’s still mistake prone, but less so. I really think he moves the ball better than Baker this Sunday.
-
Ricci has caught everything, and he looks more naturally athletic and instinctual with the ball than Thomas. I’d feature him more as the pass catching TE, and Tremble more as the lead blocker TE/FB hybrid that they put Ricci in.
-
Worst case scenario, he plays like Baker Mayfield.

The crazy thing is we would be 3-0 with Cam Newton

I think much of that is narrative. -
QB Showcase: The Non-Stroud/Young/Levis Crowd

Only problem is there’s 0.0% Cam Newton/Andrew Luck types in this draft. Well there is one but he can’t forward pass yet. -
No. Anyone but Baker. We are over it.

QB Showcase: The Non-Stroud/Young/Levis Crowd
Wundrbread33 replied to saX man's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t hate looking at QB’s, but people need to compare tape of these guys to Corral’s tape. Corral wasn’t 3rd round because he isn’t talented. The narrative of “weak QB class” took over, along with “he got hurt” and “he’s a drunk!” BS. The tape I’ve seen from some of the top guys in this class…well I’ll just say Matt is just as talented so far. I would love a pass rusher, LB, TE/WR, more OL in the 1st. Sign a vet bridge QB if you don’t want to start Corral right away. Outside of being 6’5”, Corral has all the tools to work with and develop. -
I get that point of view and I don’t necessarily disagree. I don’t know a lot about that Arizona squad outside of clearly being a transition from one era to the next. Our team however, has had clearly the worst QB play in the league with Baker. Completely pathetic (I blame McAdoo too). PJ is quite literally our 4th string QB, but it’s not out of the question that he ends up moving the ball better than Baker. It’s crazy that if Baker was the 25th worst QB instead of 32nd, this team could be sitting at 3-2 or 4-1 and Rhule is still coach. So I fully expect to keep losing with PJ, but I wouldn’t be shocked if we won some games with just slightly more effective offense.

I’ve seen just a tiny bit of him but his size, arm strength, and mobility pop off the screen. He could be a great example of not having to tank to get talent at QB, which I think there are plenty of examples of.
-
Fitterer can go straight to hell if he trades CMC for a late 2nd or 3rd round pick, while eating the contract. And fug tanking. It doesn’t work. Players won’t lay down. And getting the first QB in the draft doesn’t mean you end up with the best QB in the draft. You tend to give the #1 pick more commitment and time, but it’s not even clear that there is a dude head and shoulders better as a prospect than Corral in this draft.

Hoping Horn rubs off on Henderson too. If Henderson can have more confidence and stop interfering when he has good coverage, look out. This is definitely the most athletic, speedy corner group we have ever had. Horn legit looks like the perfect corner made in a lab.

I’ll say it again: Put Corral on Alabama or Ohio State, and he’s a top 5 pick. Those teams always have the best roster on Saturday. Whether you like or don’t like Corral, the thought experiment still works.

LaCanfora - Rhule fired - Now what ?
Wundrbread33 replied to Paa Langfart's topic in Carolina Panthers
Keep in mind, it is possible to fail, learn from that failure, and improve. Quinn, reflecting on what didn’t work and improving on those things, is a coach I wouldn’t mind. Quinn, if stubborn and set in his ways, is a coach I wouldn’t want. So far he’s a .500 head coach WITH QB FIGURED OUT. So not sure how he would do better here without more knowledge of his personal development, if that has even happened. -
Person: Rhule ran the team at times "like his personal kingdom"
Wundrbread33 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Easier to talk poo when the person leaves the room. -
Without a QB or a coordinator that can help a crappy QB, I don’t see how you can effectively evaluate offensive talent from where we are sitting. And that is really the question. Because our defense shows nearly every week that they have the talent to keep this dumpster fire competitive.
-
Now do McAdoodoo!
-
I will say this about PJ. He doesn’t play scared. He doesn’t have happy feet. He doesn’t see ghosts. He can complete a pass. Has a laser arm. It’s just that he’s good for 3-5 “what the fug was that” throws when he plays.

I do it. Next year. Let him “Rodney Peete” for our next QB.

NFL and NFLPA release Tua findings
Wundrbread33 replied to SmokinwithWilly's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wait…didn’t someone get canned over this? If they followed protocol as written, then they did their job, and got fired because of an uncontrollable “outcome” of Tua's head bouncing off the turf.
